00:00This was an announcement that we've been waiting for for a couple months now, phase two of this
00:05peace deal. What do we know about it? And what do we know about this so-called board of peace, Dan?
00:10Good morning. Phase two is essentially the peacemaking phase, the end game of this very
00:16ambitious, very sweeping, very long-term Trump plan for shifting Gaza away from its decades of
00:23chaos and war to something like a Levantine Riviera. The announcement yesterday was largely
00:30overshadowed by the crisis in Iran, of course. It was expected by the various players. It was welcomed
00:35by stakeholders like Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, who've been mediating between the warring parties, Israel
00:41and Hamas. It was welcomed by Palestinian factions, including Hamas. The Israelis have been a bit more
00:47measured in their response, however. They're worried that this announcement might essentially paper over
00:52some very intractable problems still facing the plan. Chief among them is Hamas's refusal to
00:59disarm, as demanded by the plan, and its failure to deliver the last of the around 250 hostages
01:06it took during the October 7th, 2023 attack, which sparked this war, a war that spilled over
01:12into many fronts. However, for now, at least on a declarative level, the plan is moving along
01:18more than three months after the ceasefire took hold in the Gaza Strip, a ceasefire that's been tested,
01:24that's been rocked by recurrent violence, but is still holding. So there is some optimism all around
01:30that this Middle East crisis, at least, may be on the road to resolution.
01:34And we're gonna be looking for further attention and we're going to see this. So, I think that's
01:37really where everything needs to be done. And I think that's a few years ago, which is
01:38a very good question.
01:39I think that's all, it's a very good question.
01:40I think it's a very good question, but people will be able to see the panel
01:43through the issue. So, as soon as soon as the founder comes from the
01:56side of the government, the for authors, which is what we're talking about, and how they need
01:57to transcend, and what they need to do. And to try to capture the solution.
01:59So, I think that's fantastic.
02:00Absolutely.
02:01I think it's a very good question.
