00:00You're breathing, you know, she's by herself here.
00:03It's impossible for her to not be in her head,
00:05but this is where her competitor mindset takes over.
00:07She's been under pressure before.
00:09She knows how to manage that pressure,
00:11and now she just needs to get out there and ski,
00:14which we know she knows how to do.
00:16And she's off.
00:18She got herself here.
00:19Back to Bertie Tenervo's advice.
00:22You don't have to do anything different than you did to qualify for this level of competition.
00:26Keep it going, and Luperin going in with some intense skiing fast
00:29out of the start.
00:30360 right off that first feature.
00:32It's been an appetizer, but this is setting the tone
00:35for this athlete's career on the tour.
00:38What a strong start.
00:39First feature of her Freeride World Tour career,
00:42and she's doing what she said.
00:44She's bringing the freestyle to the big mountain.
00:46We know that that is her strength here.
00:48But now she's in this technical big mountain terrain.
00:50She's got to navigate these turns through this pepper,
00:52and you know there's a feature she wants below her,
00:55but she's got to get through this big mountain terrain first.
00:58Yeah, nice crisp short turns here for Lu, lining it up.
01:02There is a big nose below her, tossing a big air there,
01:05landing on her feet, and there's more out to the next side.
01:09So Luperin making casual work of this section
01:12as she continues on down the face,
01:14and plenty more wind lips options underneath her.
01:18Taking a nice straight air there, landing it,
01:21staying in the fall line, working her turns through the terrain.
01:25Finding a fresh landing on that lower air,
01:31taking a nice, confident approach to these straight airs.
01:35And now she's just making her turns out through the bottom.
01:39Well, that was a really commanding performance
01:42from the young Valtorens rookie,
01:44Lou Belin, doing exactly as stated,
01:47bringing freestyle to the run,
01:48and at the part of the face where it is the most consequential,
01:52above the exposure,
01:53before you've even done anything
01:55to just launch a 360 off a cliff.
01:57That just shows her confidence
01:58in the ability for that to work.
02:01Absolutely.
02:01Doing a trick on top of a big face like this is massive.
02:04And also we know that the snow
02:06is a little more challenging right there.
02:07So, you know, she had that feature mid-slope
02:10that maybe could have been trickable.
02:12Maybe she was making that game time decision,
02:14and maybe she reverted into like,
02:15hey, first comp, let's stay on our feet.
02:17And that's what she's done.
02:18She's in the Finnish Corral.
02:20First run of the Freeride World Tour
02:22for Lou Dun & Dustin.
02:24Yeah, that was great.
02:25So as we look back up here,
02:27winding up, lining up,
02:28and perfect stomp,
02:30laying into the tails of her skis
02:31to keep herself balanced.
02:34I think she might have seen that feature
02:36as a diving board,
02:36and then last minute took a straight air,
02:38took a little shifty in there as well.
02:40And then we see some big mountain skiing.
02:42We've got a nice, committed, fast, straight air.
02:45She lands bolts, gets into some turns,
02:47and again, shows us another strong straight air here,
02:50finds that landing right next to the rock,
02:52and then just skis out with some heat.
02:54Yeah, taking a different trajectory on that one
02:56than we saw from the snowboard men,
02:58which I think actually gave her
02:59a smoother transition back onto the snow.
03:02So Lou showing that she understands
03:04how these mountains work
03:06and is able to pick out lines.
03:08Let's remind you that these riders
03:09have never stood on any of these features.
03:12They've been looking across the valley
03:15through binoculars.
03:16They had some drone footage to draw upon,
03:18but never hit any of these before.
03:21So skiing into them with that level of confidence
03:23and intent, extremely solid performance
03:25from a rookie on the tour,
03:27but certainly not skiing like a rookie.
03:32All right, here we go.
03:33Score to beat 76-3 free from Zoe.
03:35It's 74, so Lou popping into second,
03:39just behind Zoe Delzapo.
03:42I think the line...
