00:00Samuels this man all gas no brakes the the first rider on the men's field
00:05dropping in Goofy Twits sixth overall last year we basically see Holden on the podium or
00:12checkers are records basically he found finally a brake pedal last year and was able to to start
00:18landing some runs and as soon as he did that we started seeing Holden on the podium love to watch
00:23him ride high speed aggressive athletic approach absolutely and so for him it's just finding that
00:29consistency where you you feather that throttle between full gas and staying upright um making
00:35his way over to the rider's left getting kind of a feature up top to perk the ears of the judges say
00:41hey look at me watch me do something cool yeah exactly let's remember the basic nature of this
00:47sport is watch me do something cool and Holden Samuels getting set to show us something cool
00:53as he is he's making these tough conditions at the top look easy he's so strong physically his
00:58mental game is on point and he is into the meat of this run now no easy way down below him he gets
01:04onto that heel side edge just getting his speed exactly where he needs it there's a big feature
01:10lurking down there you can see the sun glinting off that nose as Holden right off the top ropes
01:17and like a pro finding a sneaker landing there right next to the base of the rock
01:22going for a 360 off the wind lap wind lip and landing it full bolts bolts nice clean landings on both
01:28airs and he's still working through and gets another 360 again above exposure above rocks with a little
01:35micro air to kind of finish things out that was a very interesting line i'm curious what they're going
01:40to do with the line score there because there was kind of a lot going on it was hard to even
01:44digested as it was coming down but clean landings tricks and uh very sizable air pretty high up on
01:52the slope as well yeah exactly and the judges take that into consideration amy when you do things that
01:58are consequential in areas of the face where there's terrain below you features below you exposure below
02:04you that all stacks into the line score to that that commitment to what you're doing and truly backing
02:10yourself you know because there's there was really no room for error in a lot of sections of that run
02:15great run from holden samuel congrats bro thank you that was a sick run oh thank you you can see this
02:22crowd getting warmed up there on the ridge and we'll watch the replay of holden's run taking that kind of
02:29um let's call it an appetizer air up there and then he jumps in his first feature this massive massive
02:36blind air and he just sneaks that landing and again above so much exposure as he goes into a 360
02:43kind of transfer air over that wind lip and then he's not done he has another feature lined up for
02:48another kind of wind lip feature landing above exposure and then taking off kind of his little
02:53dessert air at the bottom um that was the meal of holden's run yeah incredible incredible moments

03:06the 2026 season oh it was sick i didn't mind the snow at all no i said i know yeah i was watching

03:21i was a bit nervous on the takeoff to be honest yeah that's fair
03:27hell yeah well that's great insight because when we watched the forerunners yesterday the snow
03:32conditions were a huge concern you know there's been a bunch of wind and then we had more wind
03:37last night and it smoothed things out so they're kind of just trading stories about how nice the snow
03:42was it pops in at an 82 6-7 so holden slotting in just behind the last two riders
