00:00I'll probably know straight away because I can see it in my mind when I started
00:08asking him questions he was angry he said I'm sick of all this I'm sick of you questioning me
00:15come to my house and we will speak and here's my address I am gone I am all guns blazing at
00:24this point I'm going to this house I'm going it's such a small town it's affected Kilmarnock
00:31hugely because everybody knows about it he came out of nowhere I was like oh who is this how we
00:38not came across this guy but then I got a message from another girl from Kilmarnock and she said
00:43whatever you do don't trust David Graham he then became threatening either you speak to me or you're
00:50not going to like what's going to happen I actually do remember like the adrenaline pumping I'm really
00:56suspiciously I kept saying to her do not let him see you we thought we're going to need to all band
01:01together here it didn't add up at all is this like a kidnap attempt or is it money like what is the
01:07end game for you something just rang alarm bells like in my head I'm thinking Michael Myers is running
01:14around crosses also I just thought it has a cycle who the fuck is David Graham oh
01:42yeah this looks familiar running through my head was all the lies he might not be attractive he
02:00might not be tall he might not be successful but I'm in love with them
02:04I was so desperate to see him at this point like it was like a need and not a want so we're looking
02:17over to the left and there was a trampoline in his back garden and I thought it is his house
02:23it's a trampoline in the back garden that's where Lily was they walk up to the door my legs are like
02:32jelly I don't know who's going to be behind this door in this house probably the most nervous I'd ever
02:38been there's like a dark shadow that walks past the window and I'm thinking oh that must be him that must
02:44be him the door opens and I'm like gulping back sick but this point I'm thinking oh my god help me and
02:54the man opens the door and he's just so far from who I thought was going to open the door and he's
03:00like I don't know a David Graham hen I've lived here all my life and I'm just standing there and a
03:05housing estate looking for a guy that I've spoke to for six months and he's not here so after we went
03:15to the house he went radio silent I feel as if I've lost him why are you not taking this as a sign that
03:24he's been caught out and he's not real you just look past red flags because this isn't just like a guy
03:31that you text every day once or twice this is from the morning you wake up to the very last word that
03:38you see at night is the alternative is admitting that admitting that you are so vulnerable that you
03:50feel for all this and you just don't want to admit that you just don't want to so you're just holding
03:57on to every single last hope I feel as if I've invested so much love time and effort into this
04:06guy that I am in love with this person and I really really need to find out who it is now
04:12this little spot is in my kitchen I don't know why I've automatically always came here any time
04:31something kind of stressful happens have you ever thought about getting any chairs in here
04:35nope I don't know why do there's like no chairs in my house I'm such a floor person as well I'll eat
04:42my dinner on the floor so I've been speaking to two girls from Kilmarnock who also knew David Graham
04:52and we decided to then make a group chat called 007 to get to the bottom of who was behind David Graham
04:58and why is this person doing it I know that there's no David Graham working in the hospital
05:05or the ward however I've got a picture of a pager an ID card that says that this person has access to
05:13that ward and my granddad is still in the hospital it was scary I think because I knew at the time that
05:22my granddad wasn't talking my granddad couldn't really move I'm thinking what is this person doing
05:28to my granddad is this like freak just walking in and out of a hospital and he doesn't actually work
05:33there what's this person got access to all three of us were having so many different conversations
05:44we were starting to think is he a romance scammer scamming people out of money why did you think it
05:50might be money because I think that was quite a hot topic with David Graham as well was talking
05:54about money David was always doing something extravagant he was living in this affluent area
06:04he was driving a nice car always like to boast and always like to bring up money so is he connecting
06:11with all these women to scam them out of money like is this the reason behind all of this
06:20he actually told me his daughter died in the hospital and I didn't believe it I was like
06:27there's no way that that we girls died of cancer so just thought right no more
06:31and then I got a call from one of my friends Kevin and he asked if I was dating a David Graham
06:41and I was like no I was like why are you asking that and he said that his friend Adele had said
06:46that her cousin was David Graham Adele had seen on Facebook that her cousin had been commenting
06:52things and thought we were in a relationship so then I unblocked David and asked why he was telling
06:59people that he was in a relationship with me to which he responded straight away to say that he
07:04didn't and his cousins just got the wrong end of the stick a week or so later I had arranged to meet Kevin
07:15just for like lunch Adele came and she said I'm Adele I'm David's cousin was kind of first thing she'd say to me
07:22she was bubbly she was chatty nicely dressed she just seemed like a nice girl
07:28she started asking questions oh have you have you not actually met each other yet
07:34I think I'd say to her no I definitely won't be meeting him because he doesn't exist
07:37but then she got very defensive saying David's just going through a really hard time
07:42so he did have a child that just died of cancer but he really likes you so he was very gutted that
07:48I don't want to meet up with him and things now so what are you thinking at this point are you
07:53thinking oh god I've got this all wrong and I remember just thinking the point no I still don't
07:57think this guy is who he said he is there's something strange here so basically after I went
08:08for lunch I remember a message me saying why are you saying to my cousin I don't exist you don't
08:14believe my daughter's died like basically making me as if I was stuck in the head why would you
08:18think I'd make it up but then I just literally cut it off I heard no more for a good few weeks and
08:26then I got a message for like a random number just to let you know David's been in a car crash he's in
08:32hospital and when I tried to phone it there was no answer don't know who the number was from never
08:41answered it when I called it never messaged back still to this day I've no idea who the number was from
08:46so then that's when I went on to Facebook there's pictures of him in a hospital so obviously you're
08:57thinking right what's going on here David Graham was lying in a hospital bed and his friend was
09:03saying come on David you can pull through we're all rooting for you I started looking closer at the
09:11picture I'm pretty sure the guy in the bed was just a different guy so I started falling around
09:18hospitals there's no David Graham in any hospital in Kilmarnock Ayrshire in the surrounding areas
09:24do you ever hear from David again no but someone else calls me and it's his cousin screaming hysterically
09:32down the phone making me feel bad for not going to the hospital telling me that her little cousin
09:39is on his deathbed and he's asking for me but I've phoned down all the hospitals how am I supposed to get
09:46there if I don't know where I'm going I'm trying to see give me the address of the hospital and she's
09:51just shouting over me how do you leave that conversation think I got hung up on she wasn't
09:57listening and then she just hung up on me and the 007 group chat one of the girls in the chat knows a
10:14girl called Adele and Adele's so far the only person that we know that's ever spoke to David one of the
10:23girls in the group mentioned that when David Graham was on holiday in Marbella he phoned her and they
10:28were having a conversation and then he passes the phone over to Adele and then Adele's having a nice
10:34conversation and then passes the phone back to David so we could pin Adele and David and the same place
10:42at the same time I didn't know who Adele was but she's a girl from Kilmarnock and she's the same age as
10:48all of us there's a strong connection in the group one of the girls had been in nights out with Adele
10:54like they've got friends in common so we kind of need to look into her is it possible in your mind that
11:08he wasn't a doctor I don't think I ever questioned his occupation but I did start thinking like are you who
11:15you say they are so but that's time my friends family me we would all investigate and try to
11:24find out basically who David is a few weeks previous David had sent me a picture of a parking ticket and
11:31it was on a windscreen and the distance you could see there was a building and it says Department of
11:37Pathology and at that point I was like that's it like that is where David's parks his car yes so see
11:44here probably at this point would have been like oh my god this is that we know the location we
11:49know the car we knew that a G we know everything it's really great this is our moment we've been
11:54waiting for we're gonna find out who the hell this is I was on the phone to David and he says that I'm
12:00starting at nine o'clock and I was like fantastic my mom's sister at this point says they didn't want
12:06me to go by myself because it wouldn't be safe so he said we'll come with you oh no wonder is there a
12:10building going they're new they've knocked down a building behind me so that's where the the department
12:16of pathology saying was so basically we parked see the very back there there was cars parked all the
12:21way down here in front of us so it wasn't obvious that we were sat up there I'm on the phone to David the
12:28whole time literally laid down in the back seat and then all of a sudden we see a car coming round
12:34it's the red Corsa from my mom's house he's saying that's me just arrived at work and I'm thinking I
12:41know what is because I can see you you've arrived and then we see the car pulling up engine turns off
12:46and the lights turn off and David says oh that's me pulled up you know a long shift didn't and that
12:51kind of stuff so the door opens and someone steps out it was dark so we can't see who it was just a
12:58shadow so I'm like I said crouched down I'm talking I then hang up the phone to see the reaction of the
13:03person that we are watching they drop the phone then I'm leaving them back person picks up the
13:10phone turns around it's a woman what like no and all three of us were just like in shock we're like
13:18no way and I think when I seen that first of all women I was like oh this is a woman but then I was
13:23like hold on a minute it's the florist it's like the girl who I've been talking to who's been delivering
13:28these flowers who's been talking about David and I think at that point my mom was at
13:33my sister must be like shut up like the girl who's been dropping the flowers off to you and I was
13:36like yeah and it just sent shivers through me and when I think back
13:40oh my god like what the hell I would never have ever thought that this was David
13:47not the girl who'd been delivering all these things to me who you know I was inviting in for
13:55like a cup of tea who I drove home like I can't believe that I was sat next to her and chatting to
14:03her but you know like I could let she go out and touch her arm I then went on to David's Facebook I
14:10couldn't find her anywhere I then looked up the name of the shop couldn't find that either there's
14:18absolutely no evidence at all that this girl exists anywhere I got in contact with my friend
14:26Kevin and I said listen give me that Adele's number he sent me Adele's number I put it on my phone and I
14:34had already had a contact with the same number and the contact was David Graham David Graham and Adele
14:43both had the same phone number I then go on to Facebook typed her name in typed in and enter
14:54and then her picture came up and I was like holy fuck she works on my granddad's ward as a nurse
15:08like she's the person looking after my granddad right now
15:13like I actually can't even believe it why am I why am I crying I don't know because I'm like I
15:22remember looking at it and like being in like such disbelief because I'm like there is no way like
15:27that's who they're talking about I was totally shocked but I don't understand it because it is a guy's
15:35voice in the phone it was weird so I'm talking to a man and this woman and I'm like I'm talking to you
15:43like you're a man on my phone but you're a woman crossing the road
15:47hi sorry I'm driving yes I'm also texting oh my god that is him but is that you impalming me off
15:58already she was using the voice changer now no I was not saying you were fat however
16:05it's good to get the steps in that's what I was saying ah that is the voice yeah that's that's that's
16:14that was David Graham because you had spoken to David and spoken to Adele the voices weren't the same
16:20no not so the voices were nowhere near the same it was a guy and a woman Adele was a woman David
16:24was a guy the voices didn't even sound remotely the same and not for one thing does I think
16:28it's a voice changer that because you just don't think that these things exist and I'm just like
16:32this is wild and I can't believe this person is actually going into a hospital because you
16:36clearly see she was dressed as if she was going to work
16:39I'm actually getting goosebumps just now even just thinking about it like when she was walking
16:45over the road just starting her shift this person who's of a good profession is doing this
16:52why is she doing this like what is the reason behind it because she actually did work in the hospital
17:00and I seen her side by side with my grandad it was just like quite sickening like that's someone
17:06we put our trust into it was terrifying to be honest you know fine well what I'm going through
17:11and you still thought that that was okay like who does that but who actually does that you may
17:24only think it'll six months of your life's nothing but six months when you're 23 and you're trying to
17:32figure out your heads it was soul destroying goes to show that you just can't trust trust people
17:39basically I feel disgusted in myself for falling for something like that and this is who it is it's a
17:46do any soon as I found out that it was a deal I went straight back to chat I was like holy shit
18:00like she works on my grandad's word that ward in particular is a very vulnerable ward I mean if you
18:11really want to take advantage of people like that would be the best word to do it in I just thought
18:16I didn't want it to work in the hospital taking care of my grandad but my main thing was for it to
18:21stop so I phoned the hospital straight away I said listen I said you've got someone in your ward
18:27called Adele Rennie I said and she's pretending to be a male doctor
18:32I just phoned the hospital again and the woman on the ward does not believe a thing I am saying
18:40I remember her saying is this some sort of vendetta you've got against Adele I was like listen I will
18:46be going to the police and I was like no trace the number back to Adele and she went ballistic absolutely
18:52ballistic I felt like I had no control of the situation like my grandad was still in there
19:00I've got someone saying that I've got some sort of in data I've got Adele is she off today is she
19:04working today like where is she I think I just kept saying we just need to find more proof there
19:09just needs to be more we need more it was only a matter of time before Adele caught on we knew like
19:18all she needs to do is either block us or completely delete the profile and then that's it like we don't
19:24have anything to go on so it was pretty much like a race against time we just had to like screenshot
19:32everything write things down like the more evidence the better so when I started looking deeper into
19:37David Graham's Facebook then I start noticing it's always the same people commenting on these things
19:41and then I started asking myself well are they real we would reverse image search so you can put an
19:48image into Google and find out where it's came from and we found these profiles that have been stolen
19:53from Instagram like there was a web of people so you've got like David here and then you've got all
19:58these profiles validating that David's a real person but it's all Adele so we screenshot the other profiles as
20:06well time went so fast and I didn't sleep like I was sitting on my phone looking for things and my laptop and it
20:16was like before I knew it we were on to like five six in the morning and then I'd have a quick sleep
20:20and then I'd wake back up again like I was consumed by it all that period of time you're not sleeping
20:29you're not eating why did it take over I think because it involved my granddad and the only way I'm
20:35going to be able to get Adele it's trouble for it is if I come up with all this information once we
20:43kind of start noticing that all these profiles are like definitely fake we realized this was a
20:48full-scale operation I knew I just really had to get the police involved
20:58it was obvious it was Adele Rainey I was really really optimistic like just gonna go straight to
21:04the police and they're gonna arrest her and that's gonna be it I was in the police station for about four or five hours
21:13there was like so many intricate details and I just kind of sat and tried to give them as much
21:22information as possible any screenshots that mean the girls had sent each other in the chat and stuff
21:26to like prove that we knew it was her they couldn't actually get their head around it was actually very
21:33very frustrating their words to me where well she's not done anything criminal like apart from maybe data
21:41protection like she's not really done anything catfishing is not a crime and I was kind of like
21:47right okay so this is like normal behavior then like we've just accept that I just thought why why are you
21:54allowed to do that like why are you allowed to pretend that you're someone else especially when you're in a job of power
22:00like surely that's not allowed when I first heard about the Adele Rennie case I think the most surprising
22:09element is how long it went on for what we call catfishing creating those fake identities using those
22:18identities to contact follow victims isn't a legal term it's a term that has become really popular in the
22:27media and if you walk down to a police station and you say I've met this person on a dating platform
22:34we've been in the early stages of a relationship but something's not right it's almost impossible that
22:41the police are going to take that case on because what's the crime the minute you say they've stolen a
22:47thousand pounds there's a really clear pathway it's fraud we can investigate that we can follow the
22:54money but in these cases that's not true the motives are unclear unknown and so when a victim is
23:05forced to investigate their own crime and try and build that evidence forcing more interaction with
23:11the perpetrator the risk for the victim just gets higher and higher because I felt like I wasn't getting
23:23taken seriously I put a post on Facebook just basically warning everybody saying if you've got
23:29David Graham as a friend on Facebook get them deleted now before you get scammed he's not a real person it's
23:35actually a girl called Adele Rennie I didn't expect my inbox to then start going ping ping ping ping ping ping ping
23:45and that just one day it was floods and floods and floods of messages coming through people that
23:53had all been through similar stuff like even worse it was actually quite overwhelming because it wasn't even
24:00just females that I was getting messages from I was getting messages from people's boyfriends saying
24:05like my girlfriend's been through this how do you know that it's this girl because we've been trying to prove
24:10this for ages I was like wow like this is bigger than what I thought it was going to be like I genuinely didn't
24:17think it was going to be as big as what it was what do you think Adele's motivations are at this point
24:23I think at the time I was just so confused because before I think it was just really easy for us to just assume
24:29that if you're able to buy all these people gifts is this because you're scamming people out of money
24:33have you ever seen any evidence that she took money off anyone evidence no did he ever ask you for money
24:43no David Graham wasn't asking me for money he was just making up a string of lies that's why I for a long
24:51time thought this must be real because I was sending no gifts to him it was all one way the only thing at
24:58that time I could think of a why she was doing it was because she wasn't comfortable with her sexuality
25:03and she would rather be the girls did you get a sense the person behind the phone was sexually
25:09attracted to you yeah I definitely thought he was sexual attracted to me the phone calls and messages
25:14I definitely would have thought that yeah once we discovered who it was it was a case of well
25:19you're basically only talking to females so we just assume that she was maybe someone that isn't
25:25confident about coming out but when you then went deeper into it that almost didn't make sense
25:32like that couldn't just be the motivation there must have been more to it
25:35I then get a phone call from the police and that was me kind of thinking oh like I'm getting some
25:44sort of update and it wasn't it was basically to say that Adele had filed some sort of harassment
25:49order against me I was really surprised so she's logged onto Facebook she's seen that you're out
25:56or outing her on Facebook yeah at this film moment it wasn't really getting taken seriously it was more
26:02my reaction that was getting taken seriously rather than the action of her that was her then kind of
26:07like reverse note on me I was kind of like shit like this girl's dangerous like she's so willing to
26:21go to the police about me knowing that she's in the wrong like what else is she gonna try and pin on me
26:26she's gonna try and say that I'm David Graham and I think I got even more scared at that point I was
26:33like what you're gonna do next
26:36so it was quite annoying to hear that she'd just been interviewed and let go and again it
27:05was like well that's it like we're just gonna need to be happy with this but she's been warned we
27:14noticed that on Facebook David's profile had completely disappeared and then obviously we'd
27:21warned quite a few people in Kilmarnock about this happening it's not like that big a town so she'd
27:27be stupid to try and do it again because we're all going to know it's her however granddad is still in
27:34hospital
27:35bought a dog and I used to take the dog and to see my granddad as well and he was just sitting like this the full time
27:48the hospital said like it's going to happen quite soon so I went and visited and then he died in the night
28:00obviously it's like shit in general but I think it it was just like a pure kick in the teeth because all that
28:10time and effort with Adele it consumed like months where I should have probably been spending more time with him
28:18but I did think to myself at least she stopped Adele's not going to be catfishing anyone else
28:28I think as soon as tinder came out everyone was on it
28:41it was just exciting to meet people from your phone
28:48you didn't need to go to bars you didn't need to go out and socialize and wait on people coming up to you
28:55it seemed to make you quite picky
28:58very
29:00it makes you almost on a pedestal that you can just judge these people
29:05I was like left on short men because I liked someone tall men under five niner call friends
29:11that's what's on my profile
29:12you were swiping people you knew to start with and then you were putting your distance out a wee bit and there was all these fresh faces from other areas that you never would have came across
29:21when I saw that profile I thought he was very good looking coming across like he had a bit of a life to be a doctor you need to be a certain person like you care about people
29:38so swipe right and it came up a match I was like oh like because it's always a nice feeling
29:48if you find someone attractive and they also find you attractive as well
29:51he was different to other people because I hadn't actually opened up about my personal life to other people I'd spoken to
29:58I was 24 my mother got diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder so she needed care
30:06it was a really difficult time
30:09I was basically giving up my job to look after my mum
30:13I just felt like he understood
30:16he would say of course your mum's your biggest priority
30:20like my family's my biggest priority
30:22he did just say the right things and made me feel special really did
30:29Does the name David Graham mean anything to you?
30:36No
30:37Never heard that name
30:39Never heard that name
30:41I've been speaking to Matthew Mancini
30:44Why did you want to hide your idea?
30:45No
30:46No
30:47And who was it that you were speaking to?
30:49Matthew Mancini
30:50Does the name David Graham mean anything to you?
30:51No
30:52Never heard that name
30:53Never heard that name
30:55Never heard that name
30:56I've been speaking to Matthew Mancini
30:59Why did you want to hide your identity?
31:00A lot of people will judge
31:01And I don't want to be one of those people that are judged for what I believe was a pretty dark time in my life
31:16Matthew Mancini was very very charming
31:20Flowers were sent, bottles of wine were sent
31:24He knew what to say, when to say it and how to bring you in
31:39Was he quite flirty on text?
31:41I would say the flirtiness didn't start straight away
31:43I would say it was just more respectful
31:45But then Matthew consistently asked for explicit nude photos
31:51I declined to send any sort of photo to him
31:55And he sent me a link
31:58It was to a porn website
32:04I'll just have to use this then if you're not going to help me out
32:08That's when it started to get quite abusive and quite nasty
32:12We had arranged to meet up and go to the Christmas market
32:29Did you think you were looking forward to it?
32:31Yeah definitely
32:32It just seemed like it was the right time
32:34To meet someone, meet them face to face
32:36And then he sent me a picture of the Christmas tree that him and his nephew had been decorating
32:42And I'm quite observant
32:44I always look at all the details
32:46See what someone's house is like
32:48I love interiors
32:49And I questioned why it was a completely different living room
32:53To the one that he sent me a few days before
32:55And he got quite defensive and said it was a different part of the house
32:59And I was just like you're lying
33:02And I just felt sick
33:04Like who is this person?
33:06It was enough for me just to block
33:12And then I got bombarded with calls from a withheld number
33:16I had honestly about 60 missed calls the first day
33:21Missed call from no caller ID, missed call from no caller ID
33:24I had so many missed calls and my voicemail was full
33:27It wasn't like the friendly voice anymore
33:30It was angry, frustrated, threatening
33:33Just answer your phone, just answer your phone
33:36He could not accept that I'd been caught out
33:45Did you think it was all over?
33:47Yeah I genuinely did
33:50But then I get a message from someone I know on Facebook
33:53There's a brand new profile
33:55He's got the same picture
33:57He's got the same profession
33:59But a different name
34:02Matthew Mancini
34:04And I'm like shut the front door
34:06Like am I going to need to go through all this again?
34:09We worked out that Adele had started using Tinder
34:12And she's contacted a brand new set of victims
34:16When you're catfishing on Facebook
34:18You've got to have friends and family
34:20To make yourself more like realistic
34:22But as soon as Tinder came around
34:24It made things for Adele a lot easier
34:26Because she didn't need to prove who she was
34:28Or who she was friends with
34:30And she could get in contact with people even further afield
34:35But there was definitely new things
34:38Where I was like hmm
34:39Like you're a bit nastier
34:40And you're willing to put people down
34:42So that's when I realised
34:43That it wasn't just happening again
34:45But it was actually getting worse
34:46Is there anything going to stop this girl?
34:48So at this point I'd spoke to police
34:54I'd spoke to a hospital
34:56I'd spoke to all these people
34:57And I'm like well if you're not going to believe me
34:59I know who will believe me
35:09A year into working at the Scottish Sun roughly
35:12I spoke to Abi Draper
35:13I instinctively knew that this was a big story
35:18This is a dictaphone recording of my first ever interview with Abi
35:22I had a message on Facebook
35:25And she told me everything that happened to her
35:28And I barely got a word in
35:30Because Abi was so keen to tell me everything that had happened
35:34Straight away it ticked all the boxes for a good tabloid story
35:40There was so much on social media
35:42And there was something that just drew you in towards this character
35:48Adele Rennie lived in a nice house
35:52Appeared to have a nice family around her
35:54Was smartly dressed
35:56If you'd passed her in the street
35:57You wouldn't have given her a second look
36:01We obviously knew from the beginning that she was a nurse
36:03And not a lot of really kind things were said about her
36:06We heard that she was one of the most attentive nurses on the ward
36:10So there was a Jekyll and Hyde side to Adele Rennie going on
36:15I'm pissed, hick
36:21She looks like she loves her night out
36:24And people were obviously quite happy to be in her company
36:28And some of the women that I spoke to did say that she was great fun
36:31There's not a hint of anything sinister about her at all
36:34So there was a mystery around what was actually motivating Adele Rennie
36:39To carry out this pattern of behaviour
36:43So the goal was obviously to get the story out there
36:46But I also thought with the power of the media
36:49More victims could come forward
36:51So I'm thinking if maybe ten to twenty women are going to the police
36:55And then we're all complaining about the same person
36:58Then surely the police are going to arrest her straight away
37:01But at that point I didn't even know myself like how bad what she done was
37:18The relationship with Matthew turned toxic
37:22He puts me down, makes me feel small
37:25My opinions are invalid
37:28I'm lying and I'm going crazy
37:31Messages started to get really nasty
37:35Sent a photo of his excrement
37:39Which is so disturbing and disgusting to me
37:43I feel like he was trying to play a game
37:47But it was a game of him having full control and fully enjoyed it
37:51He would message like, where are you?
37:55What time will you be finished dinner?
37:57When are you finishing work?
37:58When do you start work?
37:59When do you start work?
38:02There was numerous times that I felt like he was there watching
38:06Or there wherever I was, numerous times
38:12You would always feel that they asking that
38:14Because he's wanting to watch
38:16He's wanting to see where I am
38:18And at that point I thought something's not right
38:22I didn't realise that she was physically going to places
38:27Speaking to like other victims
38:29They were saying like, oh she sent me a picture of outside my work once
38:33They keep sending me all these different presents
38:35Most people have called Adele a catfisher
38:39Do you feel like that's accurate?
38:41I think Adele is a stalker
38:44And I think she has used a range of different ways to carry out her stalking
38:50One of those ways is through what we call catfishing
38:53And so she's a stalker who is using all means at her disposal to stalk her victims
38:58Obviously flowers where I lived with my parents at the time
39:01To me, Alain Bells rang because I didn't give him my address
39:06It became a point where he started getting a bit more obsessive
39:09And then that's then when I started getting texts basically saying where he knew where I was
39:15That freaked me out
39:19As the victims become aware that something's wrong
39:22Adele's behaviour changes and becomes much more physical
39:26It becomes following, turning up, delivering gifts
39:30And that behaviour is inherently more risky
39:35Once more people had came to me
39:37And then I started realising that Adele was actually going to their workplaces
39:41Or she was going to their house and doing stuff
39:43I was kind of like, right, well you need to go to the police because that's stalking
39:49And then I started thinking, so she's been sitting outside my house
39:52She knew what my blinds looked like
39:55Did she hand deliver my flowers?
39:58You see, we would have stopped and
40:00Something like that and then seen a trampoline
40:04And then I was like, that's a stalker
40:08Oh my God
40:09And when we drove to his house
40:12He'd never turned up
40:14Are you thinking, why did she bring me to this area?
40:17Because this is actually where Adele lived
40:21Shut up!
40:23Oh my God, I've got actual tingles
40:29Actual tingles
40:31You're kidding
40:39I just thought she gave me just a random address
40:41And she was probably watching me without me knowing it
40:44I feel sick
40:48She saved in that bit
40:53You sent me to the area, the place that you live
40:56But you gave me a wrong address
41:00Like to watch me squeal
41:03It's like sending a mouse to a mouse trap
41:05I didn't really feel angry, I just felt pity for her
41:15Like
41:17And now I feel rage
41:20And anger
41:22And disgust
41:24Adele was there, Adele was watching me
41:27The whole time she was doing this to me and the others
41:31This is not just someone behind their keyboard
41:35And pranking or winding someone up
41:37This is someone that's taking it to extreme measures
41:40She's not a catfish, she's just a monster
41:50There's no doubt that Adele has the potential to be dangerous
41:54The offences that happened away from the internet show that there was potentially a much more sinister person at play here
42:14It would have become clear to Adele that her job was potentially on the line
42:18And she then seemed to turn her attention to a senior employee, a charge nurse who also worked at Crosshouse Hospital
42:28Adele allegedly pursued the charge nurse in her car
42:32Drove up very close behind her, flashed her lights
42:35She was weaving in and out of traffic
42:37And subjected that woman to quite a frightening ordeal
42:41It was obviously an act of intimidation
42:49That would scare the living daylights out of you
42:53Because you'd think, that person's capable of doing that
42:55That person's going to be capable of doing a lot worse
42:57Like, this girl doesn't stop, what's she going to do next?
43:01And I'm like, literally batting down the hatches
43:05Waiting for Adele to escalate
43:11Every time I stopped the car, it was like a 360 check
43:14Making sure the doors were locked
43:17Actually putting, like, hoovers against the door
43:19Never in a million years could have imagined that I was about to walk in to a detective sitting on the couch
43:26I dropped what I was doing
43:28And I just went straight down to Kilmarnock Sheriff Court
43:31You don't want to believe that your child's capable of these kind of things
43:36Why? Why would you do this?
43:39Why would you do this?
44:09It's yours
44:11What happens if they can't function?
44:13You can do it
44:15Or you can prison
44:17You can stand, right?
44:19And tell me about the fact that everyone's able to use tonight
44:22You can do it
44:24You can run it
44:26To reach people
44:28To let誰
44:30To let誰
44:32To hold nobody
