00:00All right, let's turn to the people here.
00:02Let's hear from the Drive family because this was a hell of a game,
00:1030-6, 7-6 going into the fourth quarter, and then became fun.
00:16And it was fun.
00:17It was a fun scene after the game to see all the Texans fans that traveled
00:21and was there with Aziz and Will as they were on the set with SVP.
00:27But I want to come to you, and I want you to think about it with this thought.
00:30So, watching and coming away from that game, that game's over,
00:34are you more thinking, your thoughts more towards your defense and what they did
00:40or your thoughts more towards your quarterback and how he performed?
00:44Let's kick this thing off with you, Joe.
00:46Where are you at today?
00:48Well, I mean, yeah, I appreciate y'all for taking my call.
00:51You know, I'm watching that game last night, and, you know, I mean,
00:58CJ, I'm more aligned to say that right now, my Texans,
01:06I've been a fan since the inception of the team.
01:08I think we have one of the best defenses I've seen in a long time in football
01:14in general.
01:15And just coming away, looking at that game, I mean, CJ had some –
01:21it was kind of hard to watch, you know, for me and my brother-in-law.
01:25That's real.
01:26It was hard to watch.
01:27Yeah.
01:28It was hard to watch, Ron.
01:30And me and my brother-in-law, we're sitting there watching the game.
01:32And, I mean, to see a defense that you have and how you're controlling the game like that,
01:39I mean, I had confidence in them going into their game that they could contain Aaron Rodgers.
01:43I mean, he's on his last leg.
01:45He's probably out of here waiting for his retirement papers.
01:48But, in the same token, I mean, CJ's going to have to get it together, Ron.
01:53I mean, it's just as simple as that.
01:55And, Clint, I mean, it's just like – I mean, he can sling the ball, like Clint says,
02:00all the time with the best of them.
02:02But, man, when you come into a game like that, man, I mean, you've been there three years,
02:06going on your third year or whatever.
02:08Man, it's time for you to take that next step.
02:10And I'm looking at this generation of defense that we have.
02:13This might be one of the best opportunities that we have to make a run to a Super Bowl.
02:18And the mistakes he made was just dumbfounding to me last night watching the game.
02:25And I know you guys saw it as well.
02:27I mean, five – I mean, some of those fumbles, man, just fall down on the ground, man.
02:32Live to fight another day.
02:33And when you have a defense like that, and it's going to have to be some tough decisions
02:39you were talking about earlier.
02:40But, I mean, I love C.J., but he's going to have to get in his head, man.
02:44Hey, I got these guys behind me, man.
02:46You know, let me go get in here, man, and do something and make some plays happen for these guys.
02:52But, I mean, I'm still all in on C.J.
02:54I mean, I don't think there's a better option out there, you know.
02:57But I just think he has to get it together.
02:59But going forward, I mean, it's going to have to be some discussions, like you guys said.
03:05But, I mean, like I said, our defense –
03:07I got you.
03:07I hear you, Joe.
03:07I hear you.
03:08I hear you.
03:08Joe sound like Joe's still on –
03:10He's fired up.
03:12Yeah, Joe on C.J.
03:13No, I'm with you, Joe.
03:15I feel like Joe had the same thoughts that I had in my head, and I'm going to bring them to you.
03:20I'm sitting there watching this game, and I'm saying to myself, fellas, C.J.'s going to F this up.
03:26Oh, I think – I mean, anybody watching with any –
03:28Like, he's going to F this up.
03:30That 7-6, I thought, oh, God.
03:32Like, 7-6, that turnover down there, that is – that is one that's a kick in the nuts.
03:37Like, you walk on the field, like, defense – on the defense, you're like, damn, man, for real?
03:42Like, usually – but then – then I think Jalen Petrie just clotheslined somebody.
03:48I don't know who that was that I thought went down.
03:51I felt like it ripped my nuts off.
03:52No, man, it was like, man, C.J., he's going to F this up.
03:56Like, come on, dog.
03:57John, where are you at?
03:58Let's jump to you.
04:00Are your thoughts, your mind after that game more on your defense or your quarterback?
04:05Man, I'm worried about that quarterback.
04:06I mean, he – I had my words going in, but, man, he just looked nervous.
04:14And I don't know.
04:15I mean, the way he was throwing in the – I mean, I really went through the ball in the flat to Woody.
04:22He got nailed, and then he got Nico just wide open.
04:26He was just flustered.
04:28I don't know if it was too big for the moment.
04:31I know it was – Pittsburgh's a tough place to play.
04:34But I knew he was going to just mess it up.
04:36Two of my brothers are Steelers fans, so I had to hear from them until the third quarter,
04:41in the third quarter.
04:42But, I mean, I don't know.
04:44Did you think D'Amico thought about putting Mills in?
04:48Because you had to know he was flustered.
04:51Go ahead.
04:52Thanks, John.
04:52Yeah, no, I don't think – I think that is –
04:56no, I think there's a conversation that has to be had about how much money you're going to spend
04:59on C.J. Stroud in the future and when you decide to spend that money.
05:03But I don't think they've reached a point where they are even remotely close to considering
05:07replacing C.J. Stroud in-game moment.
05:11I mean, I think they'll go down with C.J. Stroud before they made that move.
05:16I just – I mean, you can tell by the way that they talk immediately following the game
05:20and the way that they talk today is, you know – I mean, D'Amico found a way when asked
05:26about Christian Kirk in a big game he had.
05:29You can't talk about Christian Kirk without talking about C.J. Stroud now.
05:32C.J. Stroud did this, this, and that.
05:34Which is – which I'm not saying is false.
05:37It's definitely true.
05:38But the effort is there for them to handle C.J. with kid gloves and for them to be really careful
05:45of what they say because they don't want him to go into – you know, to go into a bad spot.
05:51They're trying to – which is the right thing to do.
05:53You've got a game next week.
05:54You've got a monster game next week.
05:55And so they're trying to prop him up and handle him with kid gloves.
05:59That's very telling of the situation.
06:02All right, our girl Mel, Melissa, where are you at?
06:05Are you thinking about C.J. or are you thinking about this defense?
06:09Well, hey, boys.
06:11I'm back.
06:14I know you guys miss me.
06:15But I want to – I'm really concerned about our quarterback.
06:21And like Clint said, they handle him with so much care.
06:24You're like walking on eggshells around him about, you know, talking – you don't want
06:29to get him upset or rattled or anything because he already has a mentally weak – mental – he
06:35has a mental issue.
06:36I think he's weak.
06:37I think he's emotionally fragile.
06:39I think he gets rattled under pressure.
06:41He doesn't deserve $200 million, you know, as a quarterback.
06:46He doesn't have ice in his veins.
06:47He may deserve something like a Daniel Jones contract or a Sam Darnold contract, but nothing
06:53crazy because he's not worth it.
06:56The defense saved him last night.
06:58Melissa, you sound like you're out on C.J.
07:00You sound like you're out on C.J.
07:01I am because he really got my blood pressure going last night.
07:06And so it was like, you're going to lose this game for us.
07:10Get your head out your – I mean, sorry.
07:12You can say ass.
07:13You can say ass.
07:14Okay.
07:15And so, yeah, that's where I'm at with this.
07:18And I just feel like our defense, we got to invest all the money in Will Anderson and
07:22keep this defense together because that's what's really getting us to where we need to be.
07:27And I miss you guys.
07:28All right.
07:29We miss you too.
07:29That's Melissa, the third –
07:31Well, hey, boy.
07:32That was close.
07:32The third – yeah, that was close.
07:34First start, I thought it was Laura.
07:36I mean, we – I mean, you know, Laura's been around a while.
07:40She ain't doing no sexy traffic without a sponsor.
07:43I think we may be able to get Mel for a year without a sponsor.
07:47Do it, lady.
07:48That's the third lady of the drive right there.
07:52I think we can get Mel.
07:53Get her in there?
07:54I want to get a compete.
07:56Well, you know the game.
07:57You know the game.
07:57We all did it.
07:58Hell, I did radio for three years without making a dollar just to get in, man.
08:02Just to get –
08:03I want to have a compete.
08:04I want to have a Laura off between Laura and Mel.
08:07Well, Laura ain't trying to work.
08:08I mean, Laura ain't trying to work without a sponsor.
08:10She ain't trying to do that.
08:11So, I just think, Mel, that was close.
08:13I thought that was Tyler playing the drop.
08:15No, that's fair.
08:16The early – well, hell, yeah.
08:18She was on it.
08:19She was on it.
08:20All right, Marvin, where are you at?
08:21Your thoughts on this defense, your defense and the way they played,
08:24or your quarterback and the way he played?
08:26A little bit of both, guys.
08:27Hey, I'm down here, Matt O'Guard.
08:28I appreciate it.
08:29It was a good talk already.
08:30Hey, you know, it's like I said, and Clint, you said –
08:33we were saying it last night, happy feet, and, you know,
08:36just too big for the moment and do, but it's just – he's not that quick.
08:42He's not – you know, Roger got the ball out quick.
08:45Everybody worried about that.
08:46But, you know, it's just the fact that he just was struggling with just the moment.
08:52I felt like, you know, and I was like, man, we got the best defense of all time
08:56for those of us that go back to the, you know, Ham and Lambert and Donnie Shell
09:00and where we matched them with Brazil and Bingham and Stemmerk.
09:03I'm like, come on, man.
09:04We don't blow this thing.
09:07Come on.
09:07You know, we got to hang in here, you know,
09:09because you could do something that could cause them to get a score that turns.
09:14Here it is late.
09:14It's still close.
09:16I mean, to me, they had the best road.
09:20The road they've got to get to this reach.
09:23This is like the revenge tour that we can get to get some payback
09:26on some of these teams that have honored us for years, the Bills, the Steelers.
09:30Come on, man.
09:30Let's do it.
09:31But I don't know.
09:33Maybe they need to, you know, Tuve says five-hour energy works for him.
09:37Maybe you can feed him a can of amber-crombie tuna,
09:40and let's get him going with some local honey and get him that five-hour energy
09:45and a Red Bull to spit it out.
09:47And let's go, man, to get him going.
09:50I mean, he played last night like the interview is kind of slow, a little bit, methodical.
09:55And that's okay.
09:56We want to put attention to detail, guys, but dang, come on, man.
09:59You know what I'm saying?
10:01I appreciate you.
10:01I can hear you say, too, all day, Marvin.
10:03Call any damn time, Marvin.
10:05Let's hold it up.
10:06Finish this off Southside Isle.
10:08Are you thinking about the Texans' defense more?
10:11Are you thinking about the quarterback?
10:14Hey, shout out by Texas.
10:16Let me put this on the list.
10:17Damn it, Al.
10:20Damn it, man.
10:21I'm trying to finish on Al.
10:23You think Al's in the basement, or you think it's a cricket phone?
10:26I don't know.
10:26Hey, check, let me bring it back.
10:28I'm not condoning the damn thing.
10:31Damn it.
10:32Al was bringing a fire, too, man.
10:34We got to get – get that fixed.
10:35I'm changing – by the way, I'm putting in –
10:37I'm following the paperwork to change Southside Al's name.
10:40Why?
10:41That's O-line Al.
10:43Hey, I mean –
10:44Oh, have you met him?
10:45Oh, post-game show.
10:46Oh, I haven't met Al yet.
10:47I mean, he's been – that O-line playing the way it played last night?
10:50That's Southside Al.
10:50Hey, Southside Al been on it, Chief.
10:52Let's get out, because Al kicked it off with –
10:55Run.
10:55I don't condone.
10:56What the hell was he about to say?
10:57We love Al.
11:00We're out in your house, Al.
11:01When the O-line was bad, Al was like, I don't give a damn about nothing.
11:05This O-line got to tighten up.
11:06They got to figure out this O-line.
11:07They started coming around.
11:08He said, I'm telling y'all.
11:09Hey, Clint.
11:09Hey, Clint.
11:10I'm telling y'all.
11:10And now that they went out there and lights out,
11:13hey, there's nobody happier in the city of Houston about that run game
11:16than them O-linemen put up last night to Southside Al.
11:18Oh, Al.
11:19I mean, I don't know if he's going to sign off on it, man,
11:22but I think O-line Al has got a nice ring to it.
