00:04returning this January for its 15th year.
00:07Running from the 12th to the 18th of January, it sees more than 100 of the City's restaurants
00:12offering special fixed-price menus at £15, £20 and £25 per person.
00:17For locals and visitors alike, it's a chance to sample Newcastle's hospitality scene
00:22without breaking the bank.
00:24Participating venues range from long-standing favourites to newer arrivals,
00:28all creating special menus designed to showcase what they do best.
00:32Yes, we're really excited to be bringing back Newcastle Restaurant Week this year
00:35on the 12th to the 18th of January.
00:38It's a fantastic event where over 120 restaurants this year are getting involved in
00:42and they have a set menu that people can book at different price points.
00:46So this year we've got a £15 price point, a £20 price point and a £25 price point.
00:51And it's just a great opportunity for businesses and the public alike
00:55to all kind of come together in the city and enjoy some really good food.
00:59Diners can expect a wide range of cuisines from classic British dishes
01:03to international flavours, all offered through simple two- and three-course menus at fixed prices.
01:09We're on the quayside, just down from the bridge.
01:12Great location and everyone likes a little walk after the meal,
01:16so it's nice to have a walk along the quayside.
01:19We serve Italian food, which I love.
01:24I'm half Italian, so I love serving Italian food
01:29and bringing a little bit of a modern twist to it as well.
01:32Yeah, well, it's actually our biggest ever event in terms of venues taking part this year,
01:36which is really exciting.
01:37So the fact that it's been going on for 15 years now
01:40and we're still seeing more and more people wanting to take part is just incredible.
01:43So obviously it's something that businesses in the city are always asking,
01:48you know, when's Restaurant Week, when's Restaurant Week?
01:49And it's great that we're able to expand it
01:52and obviously they're keen to take part, which is great.
01:55So, yeah.
01:56This winter edition of Restaurant Week also comes at a time
02:00when many venues face lower footfall after the festive season.
02:04By offering value-led menus,
02:06the initiative helps to drive customers back into the city
02:09and supports the wider evening economy.
02:11So, you get new customers, new regulars,
02:16people who just want to come out and try new places at a better value.
02:22I mean, we put things on our menu that are on our main menu,
02:28so people get to try them at a discounted rate.
02:31It's a really big part in the public's heart now
02:34and it's just nice to see that people, you know,
02:38they're meeting up with friends, meeting up with people they don't normally see,
02:40plan a date night, meet up with family.
02:42Like, there's loads of different opportunities for people to use Restaurant Week
02:45throughout the week, whether they go once, twice, every day.
02:48It's really nice to see.
02:50For diners, it's become an annual tradition,
02:53a chance to enjoy good food, try new places
02:55and celebrate Newcastle's food and drink scene together.
