00:07with a flavour-packed event to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Anyone's Newcastle Restaurant Week.
00:13Running from 11am to 4pm, the one-day event will serve up a mouth-watering preview of what's to come during the official Restaurant Week
00:21which runs from the 4th to the 10th of August and features 120 restaurants across the city.
00:27Live cookery demonstrations will take centre stage with chefs from five of the city's top venues
00:3421, Dakwala, Sessions, Sushi Me Rolling and Gaucho preparing signature dishes in front of a live audience.
00:42The line-up offers a diverse taste of Newcastle's thriving food scene
00:46blending long-standing favourites with some of the city's newer dining hotspots.
00:50So on Thursday, the 31st of July, we're bringing to Newcastle the first ever Restaurant Week Live event.
00:57It's going to be taking place here on Granger Street, right in amongst all other businesses as well, which is brilliant.
01:03And we're going to be bringing five local chefs and venues to the city to demonstrate some Restaurant Week dishes that they're bringing for Restaurant Week the following week on the 4th of August.
01:13So it's going to be really exciting. We've got loads of different venues taking part from 21 to Dakwala, Gaucho, Sushi Me Rolling, Satchins.
01:23So it's a nice range of different people getting involved too. So you'll be able to see them making some sushi, some empanadas, some curries, all sorts.
01:31It's going to be a really, really nice event. It's free to attend. It's going to be taking place from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m.
01:38So Restaurant Week is taking place on the 4th and 10th of August and we have 120 venues taking part this year, which is really exciting.
01:44The event started years and years ago now, 15 years ago, and it only had 11 venues taking part.
01:49So it's really exciting to see the expansion of the event and so many different people taking part now.
01:54And it's just a great opportunity for the people of the Newcastle to come along and get involved in restaurants and also the restaurants themselves really benefit from it too.
02:03So last year we had a £2.2 million impact from the event, from the two events that happened that year.
02:09And also the last event we did was actually the biggest single week event that we had for Restaurant Week kind of economically.
02:15So it's really growing and it's really exciting to see how we can kind of grow in it this year as well.
02:20Hosting the event is Anthony O'Shaughnessy, North East celebrity chef, Master Chef semi-finalist and former head chef at Blackfriars.
02:32Anthony will guide the day's action, interviewing chefs as they cook and offer insights into what diners can expect during the week-long celebration in August.
02:42With free entry, a buzzing atmosphere and plenty of culinary inspiration, Anyone Restaurant Week Live promises to be a fun and interactive experience for all ages and the perfect warm-up for one of the city's most anticipated food events.
