00:01Because for years, under Mario Cristobal, Miami did have inconsistency.
00:08They've sort of buckled that up in this mini run.
00:11Do you give the edge to Cristobal and the Hurricanes,
00:14or are you still rocking with Pete Golding and the young gun, Charlie Weiss?
00:20Yeah, you know, I think Ole Miss.
00:22I've watched both offices.
00:24I know Shannon Dawson, offensive coordinator.
00:26I've gotten to know him a long time ago, and I've known him for a while.
00:28He's done a good job, but their head coach demands a more conservative style.
00:32I don't think he lets the offensive coordinator move too far away
00:37from what his philosophy is, whereas Charlie Weiss is going to mix it up
00:40from the get-go.
00:42Golding has done a great job as a defensive coordinator.
00:45I think as you look back, you still have those visions of Miami
00:48making a bad call here and there or blowing a game they should have won
00:52by just not doing the right thing or one minute or whatever.
00:55So I just know how Ole Miss is going to play from a standpoint of the coordinators.
01:01I like that.
01:02Now I've seen rumors this week that as many as six coaches may stay at Ole Miss
01:06and not come back.
01:08And I do think I believe what Golding says is true.
01:11A few years ago we had no sister.
01:12We had no extra coaches.
01:14Now you can hire as many as you want, and they can all coach on the field.
01:18So I don't think very many schools are hurting.
01:20If as long as you've got your offense and defensive coordinator like Ole Miss does
01:24and they're the guys that are going to be moving the pieces during the game,
01:27I think the other positions can be adequately taken over by the backup,
01:32the analyst, or the other coach that's there that has been helping
01:35that is not the full-time assistant.
01:37I don't think they're as worried about that.
01:39I'm not as worried about that as I would have been five years ago
01:42when you weren't allowed to have people coaching on the field
01:44except for the 11 coaches that you named before the season.
01:48Yeah, absolutely.
01:49I think another factor as well, when we just look at this breakdown
01:53about if Miami does win the game, I do feel they have to dictate the tempo.
01:58We talked about that.
01:59Miami wants to probably win a lower-scoring game
02:03where Ole Miss wants to push a little bit of tempo,
02:06get Chambliss into a rhythm, jump up early,
02:09and then force Carson Beck to play from behind.
02:12That is something that Miami has struggled with this season.
02:16You look at both of their losses, playing from behind,
02:18not a good recipe to potentially win this game in a college football playoff environment.
02:24I think one player that has to be involved for Miami is former LSU
02:29and Liberty wide receiver C.J. Daniels.
02:31He was involved in the offense early, middle part of the year,
02:34missed three games.
02:36He did have basically 49 receiving yards in the win against Ohio State.
02:41He has to be integral for this offense to take the pressure, coach, off of Malachi Tony.
02:47When we talk about Miami's passing attack, very, I want to say, methodical,
02:52underneath balls, not a lot of deep shots.
02:55That's because they're relying on Mark Fletcher and the rushing attack.
02:59Ole Miss is going to force that a little bit
03:01and force Carson Beck to go vertical in this game, no?
03:04Yeah, and I think you hit it right on the head.
03:06I think Malachi, he gives you a horizontal running game, passing game,
03:11almost like a running back with his jet sweeps and those type of things
03:15and the way they get the ball to him.
03:17Daniels does a great job of getting downfield, the vertical passing game.
03:21It's what they haven't had as much of,
03:23and I think they're going to need to have that to go with the running attack.
03:27And again, you mentioned another thing, too, that Miami,
03:30if they do get into a scoring match, and I think I will take the over
03:33if I go with Ole Miss, which I'm going to do,
03:36they've got to be careful because Carson Beck has thrown six interceptions
03:40in their two losses where he felt like he had to score points.
03:44He only had four interceptions in the other ten games.
03:47So as long as they're in a comfortable position,
03:49whether they're winning or losing, they're still moving the football,
03:52they're still staying ahead of the chains, I think Carson Beck will do fine.
03:56But if he gets behind the chains, if they're having to play a little catch-up,
03:59he has had a tendency in their two losses to give the ball to the other team.
