EOG resources has received their Certificate of Environmental Clearance and would soon begin drilling and testing for natural gas off Parlatuvier Tobago.

The announcement was made by Chief Secretary Farley Augustine during a TPP political meeting in Castara. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:00And EOG just got their Certificate of Environmental Clearance to begin putting down their testing wells.
00:10In other words, they are coming about 14 miles off, one for 14 miles off Palatavir to begin their drilling and testing for natural gas.
00:22Mr. Agustin said all must benefit.
00:25We cannot miss the opportunity where people will come in our backyard, extract natural gas and hydrocarbons, and people from everywhere else benefit and we don't benefit.
00:39He said while development continues in Tobago West, Tobago East must not be left behind.
00:45If that is being extracted from 40 miles off Palatavir, then I want all the villages on this side of the island to benefit from their corporate social responsibility.
00:57You must have the best schools.
00:59All the children must have access to devices.
01:01Your communities must get support for their events.
01:05You can't come and take from us and not give back to us.
01:08It was also announced that the Palatavir jetty is to be rebuilt and the following talks with NPA Fuel Station is to be established.
01:18The Plymouth jetty will also be repaired.
