The Energy Minister has received an update from Woodside Energy about one of its natural gas exploration projects.

00:00The Energy Ministry says that in the interest of energy security and navigating the energy
00:05transition, Woodside Energy continues to engage with the National Gas Company on innovative
00:11ways to increase natural gas production in Trinidad and Tobago.
00:17On Thursday, the Energy Ministry announced that Energy Minister Stuart Young led a delegation
00:21from the Energy Ministry in a meeting with a team from executives of Woodside Energy
00:26at the Ministry's head office at the International Waterfront Complex, Port of Spain, on Wednesday.
00:32In a statement accompanied by a photograph, the Energy Ministry said Minister Young received
00:37an update on Woodside Energy's Calypso project.
00:41On its website, Woodside states Calypso is located approximately 220 kilometers off the
00:47coast of Trinidad at a depth of 2,100 meters.
00:53Woodside's website also says the resource comprises several natural gas discoveries
00:59in Block 23A and Block TTDAA-14 and that the development is located in a region with existing
01:07infrastructure and a favorable demand outlook.
01:11The Energy Ministry said on Thursday that during the meeting on Wednesday, Woodside's
01:16manager for Trinidad and Tobago's operations, Kellyanne Lochan, informed the Energy Minister
01:22that pre-feed engineering work on the Calypso project is progressing.
01:27The Ministry said Minister Young also received an update on the improved operations at Woodside
01:33Energy's Angostura facility after its successful turnaround.
01:38Woodside says on its website that the Greater Angostura Field is an offshore conventional
01:42oil and gas field located 38 kilometers northeast of Trinidad.
01:48Woodside's website further states that the current Angostura development comprises a
01:53main central processing platform, gas export platform, four wellhead protector platforms
02:01and an onshore terminal.
