00:00Climate history is catching up with us today, and those excluded from the
00:06conversation about our climate future need to be a part of the process going
00:10forward. They need a voice.
00:13Well-meaning people come in with, we have all of the answers. Instead of
00:17really leaning into the work and saying, I need to first understand a problem I'm
00:22trying to solve, which is empathizing, meaningful consultation, gathering those
00:27facts, and then not assume that I know the answer, and allow the problem to be
00:34defined by the community inhabitants, and then to have a collaborative
00:38partnership on how we reach the solution.
00:41It's hard for me to be excited about the future, and I think I've realized a lot in
00:48my life that if people are still getting Instagram followers and can still get
00:52two-day delivery from Amazon, they're okay. They're happy. They don't care about
00:57anything else.
00:58I think I'm scared, but I'm hopeful. I walked pretty blindly through the world I
01:05feel like for most of my life, kind of almost paralyzed by fear because I see
01:11everything going on around me.
01:13So, do we sit back and watch this catastrophe play out, or do we, humanity, do
01:21something about it.
