00:02I can say that the glacier we have here in Ilulisset Icefjord is actually the most productive glacier on the
00:09northern hemisphere.
00:10And it is moving very fast, around 40 meters a day.
00:16And every year we have a production of ice from that specific glacier of 45 cubic kilometers of ice.
00:28The result? 20 billion tons of icebergs like ours, carved every year.
00:37But change is in the Arctic air.
00:43The region is warming faster than anywhere else on Earth.
00:48It's getting warmer. The inland ice is getting smaller.
00:52Glaciers are not that tall anymore and they are retreating.
01:02And as the climate warms and glacier melt increases, the tendency is for more, smaller icebergs.
01:11At any one time, there may be thousands in the fjord here.
