00:00Big cook, little cook, welcome to our cafe.
00:11Big cook, little cook, want you to come and play.
00:18Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, trips, and fun.
00:25Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:30Wowee, a tent. I wonder what it's doing here.
00:38Oh, hello, welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world.
00:43Look at this tent, isn't it fantastic?
00:46I don't know what it's doing here though.
00:49Maybe there's someone inside.
00:51Hello, is there anybody there?
00:54Hello, oh, the doorway's moving.
00:59I think there's someone or something inside.
01:03Hey, maybe an alien landed during the night.
01:06Do aliens like camping? I don't know.
01:10Don't be scared, I won't hurt you.
01:13Oh dear, it's a giant caterpillar.
01:18Small, it's me, Small, it's Ben.
01:21Oh, oh, I feel a bit wobbly.
01:24Wow, that timber.
01:33It's only me, Small.
01:37Hello everyone, I've just been trying out my sleeping bag.
01:40You gave me a bit of a fright there, Ben.
01:42Sorry, Small, it's just I'm going camping soon and I wanted to try out my new camping gear.
01:49Camping? Is that when you sleep in a tent under the stars?
01:52Uh-huh.
01:53Can I come?
01:55Of course you can, Small. It wouldn't be any fun unless you came along.
01:58Hey, I've even got you your very own little sleeping bag.
02:02Oh, brilliant, my very own sleeping bag.
02:07Hey, Small, that's not all I've got in here.
02:09I've also got lots of other special equipment that we need for when we go camping.
02:13I've got a torch here so we can see in the dark.
02:18And I've also got a toothbrush to keep our teeth nice and clean.
02:23And I've even got a teddy bear to snuggle up to at bedtime.
02:29Oh, and what's this?
02:32Oh, no, the lining's come out of your sleeping bag, Ben.
02:37Oh, dear, Small.
02:39Oh, if the lining comes out of my sleeping bag, I won't have anything to keep me nice and warm.
02:43Well, don't worry, Ben. We'll just put something else in there.
02:46Well, we'll have to worry about that later, Small.
02:50Sounds like we've got a customer.
02:51I'm on my way. Woo-hoo!
03:07So who is it, Small? Who's our customer today?
03:09Well, she has soft feathers and a big beak.
03:16Oh, and what sound does she make?
03:20Honk, honk.
03:22Oh, so she has feathers and a beak and she honks when she speaks.
03:27Anything else?
03:28You're going to be amazed when you hear this.
03:30She's golden.
03:31Wow! So she has feathers and a beak and she honks when she speaks and her feathers are actually golden.
03:40I think I know who it is.
03:42Is it Goldie, the golden goose?
03:44You're right, Ben.
03:46And she's a beautiful sight to see.
03:48Now, how do we decide what to cook for a golden goose?
03:51I think it's time to look in my book.
03:53We need a story to help us cook.
04:06Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
04:09Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World.
04:12Let me see.
04:16Once, whilst I was sailing in the Pacific Ocean,
04:19I discovered a forgotten island.
04:21Through my binoculars,
04:24I could see that the island was dotted with lots of small hills
04:27and on each of the hilltops,
04:30some very unusual birds had built their nests.
04:34I decided to go ashore and take a closer look.
04:39It was a very pretty place.
04:41The green grass was sprinkled here and there with golden feathers,
04:45which sparkled in the sun.
04:47Hoo-hoo!
04:47I hiked to the top of one of the hills
04:50and there, sitting on top of her nest,
04:54I saw the most beautiful golden goose.
04:58Oh, hello.
04:59Hello there.
05:00Welcome to golden goose island.
05:02Haunt the goose.
05:03Would you like to see my three golden eggs?
05:06Oh, yes.
05:08I'd love to, I replied.
05:11But when the golden goose showed me her eggs,
05:14she realised that instead of three glittering golden eggs
05:17sitting safely in the nest,
05:19there were only two.
05:20One of the eggs had rolled down the side of the hill.
05:24It was lying in the grass below.
05:27Oh, no.
05:29The golden goose flew down to the egg
05:31and tried to nudge it up the hill with her beak,
05:34but it kept rolling back down again.
05:37Oh, well, whatever shall I do?
05:40She cried.
05:41I thought for a moment
05:43and then suddenly I had an idea.
05:47I know.
05:48I can balance the egg on my spoon-mobile.
05:52It was a tricky job.
05:55The golden egg was quite heavy.
05:59But eventually,
06:00I slipped it back into the nest,
06:02safe and sound.
06:04Oh, thank you.
06:05Thank you so much,
06:06cried the golden goose
06:08and she let out a great honk of joy.
06:11Honk!
06:13Little cook to the rescue once again.
06:17That was a great adventure.
06:20So the golden goose had all her eggs
06:22safely in her nest
06:23thanks to your quick thinking, small.
06:25Wahey!
06:27That spoon-mobile of yours is really handy.
06:30Thanks, Ben.
06:31But we still don't know what to cook for Goosey.
06:36Oh!
06:38I know.
06:42Big cook's big cookery book.
06:45Of course, the big cookery book.
06:47There's recipes for everything in there.
06:49And where do we look for things to cook?
06:51In the book.
06:52In the book.
06:53In big cook's book.
06:56Oh, here we are, small.
06:58I found just the right recipe for Goldie the goose.
07:01Golden plum eggs.
07:02So what are we waiting for?
07:04You read out the ingredients, little cook,
07:06and I'll see if we've got them.
07:07OK, let's see.
07:09We're going to need plums.
07:11Over we go.
07:12In the fruit bowl.
07:13Plums.
07:13Lovely.
07:14Got them.
07:15Sugar.
07:16In the cupboard.
07:17Sugar.
07:18Yes.
07:18Got the sugar, small.
07:19Chocolate.
07:21Chocolate.
07:21In the fridge.
07:23Chocolate.
07:24Lovely chocolate.
07:26Yep.
07:26And creme fraiche.
07:28Oh, creme fraiche.
07:29Yes.
07:30That is tasty.
07:31Got that as well.
07:32Here we are.
07:34Everything we need for the recipe.
07:36Great.
07:37There's just one thing that's bothering me, though, small.
07:40What's that?
07:41Well, I don't know where plums come from.
07:44Do you?
07:45Uh, no.
07:47Well, why don't you whiz off and find out, little cook,
07:49and I'll get everything ready.
07:51That's a great idea.
07:52See you later.
07:54Hoo-hoo-hoo.
07:56Hey, why don't you come along, too?
07:59Whee-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo.
08:04Go, small.
08:05Go, small.
08:06Go, small.
08:06Whiz away.
08:07I wonder what he'll see today.
08:16There's a train.
08:18Choo-choo.
08:19Choo-choo.
08:19Choo-choo.
08:21Choo-choo.
08:23Choo-choo.
08:24Choo-choo.
08:24Choo-choo.
08:24Choo-choo.
08:24Choo-choo.
08:24Choo-choo.
08:25Choo-choo.
08:26Choo-choo.
08:53This is the right place.
08:54I've come to an orchard where plums grow
08:57Joseph is going to pick some plums
09:04That's it, reach up high
09:17Oh, look at these juicy plums, Libby
09:19Now Libby's having a go
09:22Plums are a fruit and they grow on trees
09:34They start off green and then they slowly turn purple
09:39Like these, they're ripe and ready to eat
09:46Wow, they've picked lots of plums
09:48Plums are juicy and very good for you
09:54They're delicious
10:01Better get back to the cafe
10:03Bye
10:05Oh, my sleeping bag looks like it's been leaking for ages
10:22There's hardly any stuffing left
10:24Wahey, I'm back
10:26I had a great time
10:28I found out that plums are a fruit that grow on trees
10:32And when they're ready to eat, they go a lovely purply colour
10:35Mmm, sounds delicious
10:38Now let's get cooking
10:39We're all ready, so take a look
10:41And we will show you how to cook
10:43And we will show you how to cook
10:47The jelly boats and pirates go
10:50Princess pea pies
10:51Parrot cakes and fruit smiles
10:53And envelopes surprise
10:55We love our cafe and we love to cook
10:59We have a fantastic recipe book
11:02He is big cook and he is small
11:08Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all
11:12When your tummy gets all rumbly
11:16You're ready for a treat
11:18You can make something delicious to eat
11:22Have you cleaned the surfaces?
11:30Yes, have you washed your hands?
11:32Yes
11:32All clean and ready to cook
11:36Do you remember the ingredients to golden plum eggs?
11:39You do
11:40There were plums
11:42Three
11:42Sugar
11:43One dessert spoon
11:45Chocolate
11:46Two squares
11:47And creme fraiche
11:48Four tablespoons
11:50Whoopee, let's get started
11:53Okay, the first thing we need to do is pour the sugar into a saucepan
11:58And then half fill the saucepan with water
12:02Like this
12:04That's about right
12:07And then we can turn on the heat
12:10And warm up the sugar and the water until it starts to boil
12:15And remember, this is a job for your grown up helper to do
12:17Because it's a hob job
12:19And the hob is hot, hot, hot
12:21He he he
12:22Shhh
12:24While Benny's busy
12:25I'm going to go and try and find something to line the sleeping bag with
12:29Hey, I wonder if we've got any cotton wool
12:33And this is another job for your grown up helper to do
12:37They need to score the plums using a knife
12:39Which means making little cuts down the side of the plums
12:44To make it easier for the skin to peel away later
12:47So once we've done that
12:49I'm going to pop the plums into the boiling sugary water
12:52Like this
12:55And we need to keep them in there for four minutes
12:59And just pop the lid on to keep all the heat in
13:03There we go
13:07Now they need to cook until the skin starts to peel away
13:10But make sure that they keep their shape
13:12Because these are going to be our golden eggs
13:14Wahey!
13:16Look!
13:16I've got a cotton bud sword
13:18Err, Small?
13:23May I ask why you're waving that cotton bud?
13:26I was looking for cotton wool to fill the lining of your sleeping bag, Ben
13:30But I could only find cotton buds
13:32Ho ho!
13:34Cotton buds would make my sleeping bag feel really uncomfy
13:37Can you think of anything else we could use?
13:39Leave it to me, Ben
13:41I'll get back to you
13:42Once the plums are ready and they've had time to cool
13:46We can start to peel off the skins like this
13:49And this is the really fun bit
13:51Especially when the skin peels off nice and easily like this
13:56He-hee!
13:58Now what else could I fill Ben's sleeping bag with?
14:03When you've peeled off all the skin
14:04It's time to take out the stones
14:06Now there's one stone in each plum
14:08And this is quite a tricky job
14:10You've got to be very careful
14:12Because we need to keep that plum shape
14:16Nice and careful
14:19There we are
14:22There's one
14:25Those plums smell great
14:28Hey Ben, I've decided to pad out the lining of your sleeping bag with some of my socks
14:34Erm, are they clean?
14:36Well some are, but I didn't have enough clean ones so some of them are a bit cheesy
14:41Well I'm not having your cheesy socks anywhere near my sleeping bag thank you very much
14:47Oh listen to you Mr Fussypot, I was only trying to help
14:52Well thanks for helping, but I think we need to get on with the recipe
14:55Right, I've taken all the stones out of the plums now
14:59One, two, three
15:00So I'm going to spoon the creme fraiche into a bowl
15:05And then make a little nest shape like this
15:09Be careful Ben
15:12Oh no
15:16Don't worry Ben, I'll just lick it up
15:19Mmm
15:21Sorry Small
15:27Right, now it's time to grate the chocolate onto a plate
15:31This is a job for your grown up helper to do
15:33Grate some this way Ben
15:35Oh Small, this is for the recipe, not for you
15:39Okay, we've grated a bit of that there
15:44So now, we can sprinkle the chocolate onto our creme fraiche nest
15:50Like this
15:52Oh yes, there we go
16:00It looks just like a nest now
16:01So finally, we can pop on the plum eggs
16:05In the middle
16:07Like this
16:10And there it is
16:14That looks delicious
16:16Quick Ben, let's get it to Goldie the Goose straight away
16:20Right you are, little cook
16:22Golden plum eggs coming through
16:25There, all done
16:32So what do we do now?
16:34Can we play?
16:35Not yet
16:36Time to clean and put away
16:38Hooray!
16:39Hooray!
16:40Hooray!
16:41Hooray!
16:42Wash, wipe, scrub and clean
16:48Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam
16:51My name's Ben
16:55And mine ain't small
16:57We've got the cleanest kitchen of all
17:00Tidy all the bits and pop
17:03The things that help us do our job
17:05Ingredients well put away
17:07Ready for use another day
17:09Pots and pans will start to smell
17:10If we don't wash them really well
17:12And now it's clear
17:13Let's all smile
17:14We'll be finished in a little while
17:16All around
17:17Up and down
17:19We've got the cleanest cafe in town
17:33Aha, here comes the plate
17:35Ho ho, yes!
17:37And it looks like Goldie the Goose enjoyed her golden plum eggs
17:40Look small, she's left a note
17:42What does it say?
17:43What does it say?
17:44Ho ho, let's see shall we?
17:47It says
17:49Dear Big Cook Ben and Little Cook Small
17:51Thank you for my licky-lumptious golden plum eggs
17:54You are fantastic cooks
17:56Wahey!
17:57I am sorry that Ben's sleeping bag has lost some of its stuffing
18:00Here's some golden goose down to use as new stuffing
18:04It will make it cosy again
18:06Oh yes, and thank you Small for rescuing my runaway egg
18:10It hatched last week and I named the baby gosling Small after you
18:14Happy honks from Goldie the Goose
18:16Wow!
18:17And she named her baby gosling after me Ben! Isn't that sweet?
18:22Ho ho, very sweet Small
18:24And what about my golden goose down?
18:27Whoa!
18:28This looks really nice and warm
18:31Hey Ben, does that mean we can go camping now?
18:33It certainly does
18:34It certainly does
18:35Hey hey!
18:36See you soon!
18:37See you soon!
18:38Bye!
18:39Ho ho!
18:40Big cook, little cook
18:46Welcome to our cafe
18:48Big cook, little cook
