00:06Tuesday on 10 charges of allegedly awarding food supply contracts to a company owned by

00:14Justice Samri Mazri ordered 61-year-old Sheikh Hassan Sheikh Zainuddin to be freed after
00:20allowing his appeal to set aside the conviction and sentence imposed by the Sessions Court.
00:25Sheikh Hassan was earlier charged with using his position as the Piramu station chief for
00:30gratification by allegedly awarding contracts to Ponchak Kahaya Azam Enterprise, owned by
00:35his wife, for the supply of food for various programmes held at the station between 2014
00:42and 2015.
00:44On March 16, 2022, the Kwantan Sessions Court had sentenced Sheikh Hassan to a total of 180
00:52months jail and fined him 194,062 ringgit and ten sen for the alleged offence.
