00:28A three-member panel, led by Federal Court Judge Datuk Wazir Alam Maidan Mira, alongside
00:34Court of Appeal judges Datuk Lim Chong Fong and Datuk Azizul Azmi Adnan, unanimously allowed
00:41Mohamad Arif's appeal on Thursday, overturning his conviction, three-year jail sentence and
00:47three million ringgit fine.
00:48However, the Court upheld the conviction of Mohamad Arif's son, Ahmad Zuqairi, on four
00:54counts of soliciting and receiving 200,000 Singapore dollars in bribes related to several
01:00ministry projects in 2016.
01:03Justice Wazir Alam reduced Ahmad Zuqairi's jail sentence from five years to four years
01:08for all four charges while maintaining the 9.6 million ringgit fine.
01:12Additionally, the default prison term for non-payment of the fine was reduced from 10
01:18years to six years.
