00:18Meeting all the friends we cook for, sharing stories, tricks, and fun.
00:25Big cook, little cook, we'll cook for everyone.
00:30Ben? Ben? Where are you?
00:37Oh, hello. Welcome to our cafe, the best cafe in the world.
00:42Only at the moment it's just Small's Cafe, because I can't find Ben anywhere.
00:48Hey, why don't you try and spot him? Ben? Ben?
00:56He's where? Over here?
00:57No. Where? Over here?
01:02I can't see him. Ben? Ben?
01:09It's only me, Small. Hello, everyone.
01:13What are you wearing?
01:14What are you wearing? It's a clown's wig and trousers. Brilliant, isn't it?
01:19It's very funny.
01:24I must look just like a clown, don't I?
01:27Well, almost. But there's something missing.
01:30Oh, yes. Of course. You can't be a clown without...
01:34Shoes! Hey-hey!
01:37It might be. I'm not sure.
01:39On go the shoes.
01:41Hee-hee-hee-hee. Look at me. I'm a clown.
01:43Ho-ho-ho.
01:43Ho-ho-ho-ho.
01:44No, it's still not quite right. There's something else.
01:47Something else?
01:50But there's nothing else here, Small.
01:52Oh, I know. I know what the problem is. The nose.
01:56The nose?
01:57There's nothing wrong with my nose.
02:00I've never had a problem with it.
02:01No, you need a clown's nose. A red nose.
02:04Of course.
02:05Well, that shouldn't be too hard to find, should it?
02:07I can use a...
02:08Oh!
02:09A cherry.
02:10Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho.
02:11Too small.
02:13I know. A pepper.
02:15I know. A pepper.
02:18OK. A pepper.
02:20Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho.
02:22Too stupid.
02:24Oh!
02:25Well, what about a tomato?
02:28Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho.
02:32Too messy.
02:34Aha! A customer.
02:37You'd better worry about your nose later, Ben.
02:40Worry about my nose later?
02:42Oh, you mean my clown's nose.
02:44OK.
02:45And I'd better take this wig and these trousers off if I'm going to be cooking.
02:48Go and see who it is, Small.
02:50I'm on my way!
02:51Woo-hoo!
02:58Who's our customer today, Small?
03:02Well, well. Fancy that.
03:05You should be able to guess who it is, Ben.
03:07Should I?
03:08Oh, yes.
03:09It's one of your favourite circus characters.
03:12Have a guess.
03:13Are you serious?
03:14Is it?
03:15Is it?
03:16Is it?
03:16Is it?
03:17It is, Ben.
03:18It's Charlie the Clown from the Runaway Circus.
03:20He's running around everywhere.
03:22He's so funny.
03:24Ho-ho!
03:24Well, we'd better make him something really funny to eat, then.
03:27Of course, Ben.
03:29I think it's time to look in my book.
03:31We need a story to help us cook.
03:42We need a story to help us cook.
03:44Let's take a look in Little Cook's book.
03:47Little Cook's Adventures in the Big World.
03:50Let me see.
03:53One day, I was walking through the wood.
03:56It was a beautiful day.
03:58Then I heard someone crying.
04:00And when I reached a clearing in the trees, I got a big surprise.
04:04There sat Charlie the Clown from the Runaway Circus with his funny hair and baggy trousers and big shoes and red nose.
04:13He was terribly sad, so I asked him what the matter was.
04:17Charlie told me he'd set out for a walk from the circus and got completely lost in the wood.
04:22He'd been going around in circles for hours and hours and not getting anywhere.
04:27He was crying because he didn't think he'd ever find his way out and get home again.
04:32Well, I really wanted to help, but I only knew the way back to the cafe, and it was almost impossible to see which way the circus was.
04:40All the trees looked exactly the same as each other.
04:44But then I saw something that gave me a clue.
04:47There were Charlie's great big footprints.
04:50All we had to do was follow them, and I was sure they would lead us all the way back to the circus.
04:56And that's just what happened.
04:58It took a while because Charlie had zigzagged all over the wood.
05:02But we just kept on following his footprints, and soon we saw the circus big top, and he was home.
05:09Charlie was so happy to be back.
05:12To say thank you, he gave me a ticket to watch the show that night.
05:16It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen!
05:20Little Cook Small to the rescue once again!
05:25That was a great adventure!
05:27Yes, it was.
05:28A brilliant adventure, Small.
05:30And as you were so good at finding a way through the wood, maybe you'll be just as good at finding a recipe to feed Charlie the Clown.
05:36Wahey!
05:37I'm back!
05:38This really is a tricky one, Ben.
05:40Hmm.
05:41Oh!

06:47Hmm.
06:48Right then.
06:50That's everything we need, apart from the strawberries.
06:53What are we going to do about those?
06:55Well, don't worry, Ben.
06:56I'll whizz off and get some!
06:59Good idea, Small!

07:31Certainly!
07:32Thank you!

07:35Thank you!

07:37They're going to pick strawberries!
07:38My favourite!
07:39Do you know what strawberries look like?
07:40There's a strawberry!
07:41Strawberries grow outside on bushes close to the ground!
07:42Let me find the bigger one!
07:43That's it!
07:44That's it!
07:45When strawberries grow outside on bushes close to the ground!

08:05Let me find the bigger one!
08:08That's it!
08:10Oh!
08:11That's it!
08:12When strawberries start to grow, they are small and green!
08:19But when they grow bigger, they turn red, and that's when they're ready to pick.
08:28Wow, look at that one. It's big and red, just like a clown's nose.
08:35You can have lots of fun picking strawberries.
08:38Everyone has a little basket to fill up.
08:40But remember to only pick the red ones.
08:45They've done really well. Their basket is nearly full.
08:49All the fruit has to be weighed, so you know how much to pay.
09:11I've picked some strawberries too. See you later.
09:19Woo-hoo! I'm back!
09:28And I've brought the strawberries!
09:31Oh-ho-ho! They look delicious, Small. Were they easy to pick?
09:37Very. They were just the right height for me, Ben.
09:40Oh-ho-ho! What do you think? Does it make a good clown's nose?
09:45Sorry, Ben. It's a funny shape and sort of speckly.
09:49Oh, well.
09:50Come on, Ben. Cheer up. Let's make a strawberry clown.
09:55You're right, Small. Let's get started.
09:57We're all ready, so take a look and we will show you how to cook.
10:02The jelly boats and pirates go princess pea pies.
10:10Carrot cakes and fruity smiles and envelopes of brides.
10:13We love our cafe and we love to cook.
10:17We have a fantastic recipe book.
10:23He is big cook and he is small.
10:26Friends in our cafe, we cook for them all.
10:30When your tummy gets all rumbly, you're ready for a treat.
10:36You can make something delicious to eat.
10:45Have you cleaned the surfaces?
10:48Yes. Have you washed your hands?
10:49Yes. All clean and ready to cook.
10:53Do you remember the ingredients to strawberry clown?
10:57You do.
10:58There was butter, two tablespoons,
11:02mascarpone cheese, 500 grams,
11:04biscuits, 12,
11:06icing sugar, 50 grams,
11:09grapes, 2,
11:10and strawberries.
11:12Two cups, one chopped and one sliced.
11:15And now we're ready to make...
11:17A strawberry clown!
11:20These biscuits need to be made into biscuit crumbs,
11:22so we pop them into a plastic mixing bowl.
11:28There we go.
11:29And we use the end of a rolling pin to crunch them up.
11:35There we go.
11:37Crunch them all up.
11:39Clowns.
11:40What sorts of things do clowns do?
11:43Oh, I know.
11:45Juggling!
11:46Woo-hoo!
11:47Here we go.
11:49Hey!
11:49Hey!
11:50Ha-ha-ha!
11:51Woo-hoo!
11:52Ho-ho-ho!
11:53Very good, Small.
11:55Next, a job for your grown-up helper,
11:57because it's going to get hot, hot, hot.
11:59I've melted the two tablespoons of butter
12:01into a saucepan over a low heat.
12:04And to that,
12:05we need to add our crunched-up biscuit crumbs.
12:08In they go.
12:11Nice and slowly.
12:12There we are.
12:13And give them a good stir.
12:16Round they go.
12:18Oh, that looks very nice.
12:21Round and round.
12:24Lovely buttery crunchiness.
12:26Hey-hey!
12:26So, the next thing we need to do
12:31is add them to a baking tin.
12:33Now, this is a special baking tin
12:34because the bottom comes out.
12:39So, I'm going to turn off the heat
12:40and pour them in.
12:44There we are.
12:46There we go.
12:47Get them all in.
12:50There it goes.
12:51Nearly done.
12:52And we can use the back of our wooden spoon
12:57to press it down.
13:03Small the clown at your service.
13:06Hee-hee!
13:07I think I need to teach Ben some clown tricks.
13:09Ho-ho-ho!
13:11Now, we take a bowl
13:13and add the mascarpone cheese.
13:16In it goes.
13:18Oh, yes.
13:19Lovely and creamy.
13:21Hey, Ben!
13:22Come and have a look at this.
13:23Ho-ho-ho-ho!
13:24What is it, Small?
13:26I've got something to show you.
13:29Oh, that's a pretty flower.
13:31Hee-hee-hee!
13:32Ah!
13:33Ho-ho-ho-ho!
13:35Oh, very funny, Small.
13:37Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!
13:39Hee-hee-hee!
13:41Oh, I'm teaching you some clown tricks, Ben.
13:44Oh, thanks a lot, Small.
13:46Ha-ha-ha!
13:47Now, we put the icing sugar into the bowl.
13:51There we go.
13:53And then, we add our chopped strawberries.
13:58Oh, that looks very nice.
14:01And give them a good stir.
14:03Wow, I'm good at this.
14:12I'd make a great clown.
14:13Hee-hee!
14:14Let's see what we've got.
14:16We've got a raisin.
14:20And...
14:20And what have we here?
14:21It's an umbrella!
14:25And...
14:25We've got a spoon!
14:28Hee-hee!
14:29There we are.
14:31Now, on top of the biscuits,
14:32we put our strawberry mixture.
14:35There we go.
14:37On it goes.
14:38Make sure we get it all in.
14:39Oh, yes.
14:43I can almost taste the strawberry creaminess.
14:46And then, once again,
14:48we use our wooden spoon
14:49to smooth it round.
14:52Mmm, yummy!
14:55That looks perfect.
14:57Now, all we need to do
15:00is put it in the fridge
15:01for one hour to set.
15:06In it goes.
15:09And now, we can relax, small.
15:11I'll set the timer.
15:12For one hour.
15:18It's ready!
15:27We can take it out of the fridge now.
15:30Here we go.
15:35And pop it down here.
15:37Oh, that looks great!
15:39How about this trick, Ben?
15:44Wait for it.
15:46Woo-hoo!
15:46Oh, no!
15:49I've pushed it out of the tin
15:50and put it onto a plate.
15:52All I need to do now
15:53is decorate it with some fruit.
15:56These grapes will make great eyes!
15:59Thanks, small.
16:01One eye there
16:02and one eye there.
16:04And I can use these sliced strawberries
16:06to make a nice smiley mouth.
16:09There we go.
16:11Just one there.
16:12Pop them all the way round.
16:14Our clown is going to have a big smiley face.
16:20Here we are.
16:22And I can use this whole strawberry
16:24to make a big red nose.
16:27There!
16:27It makes me laugh just looking at him.
16:31Yeah!
16:32Let's see if Charlie the Clown laughs too.
16:35One strawberry clown coming through.
16:39Here we go.
16:43Woo!
16:43All done.
16:45So what do we do now?
16:46Can we play?
16:47Not yet.
16:48Time to clean and put away.
16:50Hooray!
16:51Hooray!
16:51Hooray!

17:47Well, what does it say, Ben?
17:49Let's see, shall we?
17:50It says, Dear Big Cook Ben
17:51And Little Cook Small
17:52Thank you for my strawberry clown
17:55It really made me laugh
17:56To say thank you
17:59I've given Big Cook Ben
18:00Something to finish off his clown's outfit
18:03It's my red nose
