00:00For this celebrity house hunt, we have a strictly spectacular line-up.
00:06Wow. Richie, look at these views.
00:08I don't think I've ever seen a view like this from a property.
00:13Sometimes that means veering miles off the beaten track.
00:17See, this is what I love about it. It's space.
00:20It's more than space, Neil. There ain't anything here.
00:23The whole countryside is a stage.
00:25As we strive for the perfect score.
00:31Those hips don't lie.
00:33Well, you know, Neil, it never leaves you.
00:52The foxes are trotting.
00:55The sheep are doing the lamb-ba-da.
01:00Stick with me.
01:01Even the cows are keeping in step.
01:04And that's because the countryside is moving and shaking.
01:09Oh, still got it.
01:11And one man who knows all about having a little boogie is strictly come dancing choreographer and professional dancer, Neil Jones.
01:18But after years of bopping along to the fast pace of cities, Neil and his family are ready for a change of tempo.
01:29Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.
01:30Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.
01:31World champion dancer and strictly professional, Neil Jones, and his fiancée, TV personality, China Mills, rent a house on the river in a Hertfordshire town with their daughter, Havana.
01:44Yay!
01:48Cha-cha-cha, mum's going on the wrong foot, but it doesn't matter.
01:51Daddy can see that in the corner of his eye.
01:54How can you see?
01:56I can hear it as well in your feet.
01:57The story of how they met is a tale as old as, well, social media.
02:04So technically, I slid into her DMs.
02:06Yeah.
02:07Romantic, yeah.
02:08I didn't even know who you was.
02:10That's true.
02:11So I was like, oh, what are you doing now?
02:12And he says, oh, I'm currently on tour.
02:14I'm like, on tour?
02:15I'm like, what?
02:17And he said, oh, I'm a professional dancer.
02:19I said,
02:20That's what she said.
02:26As well as being a whiz on his feet,
02:31Neil has turned his hand to tattooing
02:33and also renovated his houseboat
02:36that the family lived on for six months.
02:38I created my own structure on here.
02:41I actually laid all the floorboards myself as well.
02:43And I think it all comes from when I was dancing when I was younger.
02:47We had to find ways of making money.
02:49So I used to do odd jobs.
02:51And because of those odd jobs,
02:52it kind of helped me pay for my dancing.
02:54And now it's all paying off later as well
02:56because that's what I love to do.
02:58Creating a safe and comfortable place for his family
03:01is particularly pertinent for Neil.
03:04So just after I finished school,
03:06finished my GCSEs,
03:08basically I had enough money to pay for my dancing,
03:10but not enough money to pay for somewhere to live.
03:13So I was actually homeless for a period of time.
03:16I remember the first night I was kind of sleeping on the bench
03:19right outside the studio.
03:21And then I was like,
03:23oh no, wait,
03:24what if I'm still asleep when someone comes in the morning?
03:26Like, what am I going to do?
03:27Because no one knew it, you know,
03:29and I was hiding it from everyone.
03:32Neil is now keen for any chance
03:34to build a home from the ground up.
03:36But the enthusiasm hasn't rubbed off on China.
03:40I can't be starting from scratch.
03:42OK.
03:42I need a wall.
03:44I need walls at least.
03:46I'm sure we can have walls.
03:47Does it need to have a roof?
03:49Yeah, yeah.
03:50At least a roof.
03:52Not forgetting wardrobe space for all those outfits.
03:55So there's my darn shoes.
03:57And actually you can see typical Strictly.
03:59Everyone gets to use everyone's.
04:00So it actually says Jake in there
04:02because he's most of the time used my shoes once for a while.
04:05I hear you, Neil.
04:07I'm actually wearing jewels as well as.
04:09Footwear China wouldn't be caught dead in.
04:12If you just imagine a piece of glass,
04:13she likes to be on this side of nature,
04:16looking out at it,
04:17whereas I like to be in it.
04:19Yeah.
04:19So, yeah, I'll be in the mud.
04:20I don't mind looking at him through the window
04:23of a lovely scenery.
04:27I don't want to be in it.
04:29One thing they can agree on is their search area.
04:33She's a northern lass.
04:34She wants to be up in Yorkshire.
04:36And do you love it now?
04:37I like Yorkshire.
04:38I think Yorkshire's great.
04:39So it will be a lot nicer,
04:41I think also for Havana to grow up around family.
04:45I will really, really, really be happy
04:48for the unlimited babysitting for my mum
04:50if we live right next door.
04:53Not too close,
04:54because I don't want her to pop around for a cup of tea all the time.
04:56Which is when you just said next door.
04:57Neil and China are after a three-bedroom detached family home
05:05full of character
05:06with space for entertaining
05:08as well as plenty of storage
05:10for all those sparkly Strictly outfits.
05:13Neil is more than happy to take on a project
05:16and for all this,
05:17they've got a budget of £650,000.
05:21I am loving Neil and China's battle
05:35over the countryside dream.
05:37So we've got Neil who wants to be immersed in nature,
05:40basically wants to get his hands dirty.
05:42And then we've got China
05:43who just wants to sit there
05:45in a comfy chair
05:46with a cuppa
05:47and just, well,
05:48look at it.
05:50So how's this going to work?
05:52Well, that's where we come in
05:53because I need to find them a house
05:55where they can both find their groove
05:58amongst the greenery.
06:00Neil and China want to move closer to her family,
06:04so we'll be focusing our search
06:05across the Yorkshire Dales
06:07in the counties of Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
06:10A detached house in North Yorkshire
06:12costs an average of £437,000.
06:16But hopping over the border
06:19into South Cumbria
06:20can bring generous savings
06:22as the average is around £380,000.
06:28Yorkshire is often referred to
06:31as God's Own Country,
06:33which is justifiable
06:34when you see heavenly views like these.
06:36In addition to the scenery,
06:38the county has given us delicious treats
06:40like cheeses, tea
06:42and the eponymous puddings.
06:45Don't mind if I do.
06:47Before we take the plunge,
06:48we're meeting at Hardraw Force,
06:51England's largest above-ground
06:53single-drop waterfall.
06:55Now, I'm used to seeing you two
07:01on shiny dance floors
07:03or on red carpets,
07:05but the countryside looks so good
07:07on the both of you.
07:08This is a bit of me.
07:10If you found a house
07:11that was just up there
07:13and I could just abseil down every morning,
07:15that would be my dream.
07:16No windows.
07:17I want a project.
07:18I absolutely love being in nature.
07:23I think I should have been a farmer
07:24or something, honestly.
07:25His idea of rural
07:28is very rural
07:30and, yeah, like a barn
07:32with no windows.
07:34And what do you want
07:34from a property than China?
07:36I want somewhere that we can settle
07:39and have somewhere nice
07:41for Havana to grow up
07:43and call home
07:44because I don't feel like
07:45we've had that yet.
07:46No, we've moved a lot.
07:47I think we've maybe
07:48in, like, the fourth place
07:50that we've lived.
07:50Yeah.
07:51We've lived on a boat.
07:52We've lived on everything.
07:53I love this.
07:54So, I don't know
07:55if you're a big fan
07:55of Escape to the Country.
07:56I'll explain how the programme works.
07:58Richie, Richie.
07:59Oh, hang on.
07:59You don't need to explain
08:00to me how it works.
08:02I am a massive fan.
08:04I've even got a tattoo
08:05of my favourite presenter.
08:07Oh, Neil, you know
08:07I don't like a fuss.
08:09It's Jules.
08:10Yeah, of course.
08:11It's Jules.
08:12Listen, I hear you
08:13because I also have a tattoo
08:15of my favourite Escape
08:16to the Country presenter.
08:17Yeah, you might have to help me.
08:19No problem.
08:19Let me get that down.
08:22It's Nicky Chapman.
08:24Look at that.
08:26Matchy, matchy.
08:27Where's yours, China?
08:28Honestly, I couldn't pick.
08:30We've got some
08:31fabulous houses to see.
08:33And luckily for you, China,
08:34the first one is not up there.
08:36It's that way, my darling.
08:37Follow me.
08:38Follow you.
08:38We're putting our best foot forward
08:44and quick-stepping
08:45to the hamlet of Gawthrop
08:48in South Cumbria.
08:50The hamlet lies within Dentdale,
08:52one of the lesser-known
08:53but breathtakingly beautiful dales.
08:57The nearby village of Dent
08:59offers a couple of pubs
09:00plus a family-run village shop
09:02and while there's no ballroom,
09:04there is a tea room.
09:06Just a few miles along the valley
09:08is the house we've come to see.
09:11Face your eyes
09:13on property number one.
09:16Oh, wow.
09:17Yeah, wow.
09:18I like this.
09:19I love it, to be honest.
09:20Do you?
09:21Yeah, and I've not even been inside.
09:22What is it about it
09:23that is calling out China?
09:25Look at me.
09:26Love me.
09:27It's the character.
09:29Yeah.
09:29It's the vibes.
09:31It's everything.
09:32It's got plenty of character
09:33from the outside
09:34and the garden looks cute.
09:36I know this is a type of garden
09:37you would like.
09:38Yeah, because you would maintain it.
09:40I'm hoping there's more garden.
09:42Are you a gardener
09:43as well as a dancer then, Neil?
09:44I love a garden.
09:45I used to do gardening.
09:47That's how I used to pay
09:47for my dancing.
09:49What a catch, China.
09:50Honestly, he's an all-rounder.
09:51That's why I love him.
09:52Yeah.
09:53Right, shall we go
09:53and see the inside of the house?
09:54Oh, please.
09:55And let's hope we can
09:55keep this energy going.
09:56Follow me.
09:57Now I'm scared.
09:58I'm scared, but I'm excited.
10:00There's nothing to be scared
10:02about China
10:03as despite being
10:04over 200 years old,
10:05this grade 2 listed farmhouse
10:07is finished with a fresh,
10:09modern interior
10:10where Neil should feel
10:12right at home.
10:15Oh, I love this.
10:15How stunning
10:16is this living room?
10:18Oh, I love this.
10:18Yeah, this is a bit of me,
10:19this is.
10:20Yeah.
10:20Do you know what?
10:21I love,
10:22I love this.
10:23Right?
10:24Look at those.
10:25This is brilliant.
10:27Do you know what?
10:27It's just the right size.
10:29I'm into this.
10:30Yeah, 100%.
10:31Honestly,
10:32watching TV
10:33and then seeing that view,
10:35I could do this.
10:36It is.
10:36We like it when it's like that,
10:38when you can just look out the window
10:39and you just have views like this.
10:40And the ceiling's the right height.
10:41No, I'm happy that you're here
10:43so that we can test it out
10:45because Neil's not tall enough.
10:46How tall are you, Neil?
10:47I'm 5'10 at a push,
10:49which technically means I'm 6 foot.
10:51I mean,
10:51I don't want to call you out,
10:52Neil,
10:52but I'm 5'11.
10:54So I'm not sure,
10:55do we,
10:56oh,
10:56no,
10:56he's on his tiptoes.
10:57Yeah.
10:58On his tiptoes with a Cuban heel.
11:00Right,
11:01I'll take you through to the next room.
11:02Follow me.
11:03It's gorgeous,
11:03isn't it?
11:03Why don't you stay here?
11:04It's quite nice.
11:05I know.
11:06And this is your kitchen diner.
11:10Oh,
11:10wow.
11:10I know.
11:11OK.
11:12I don't know what I was expecting.
11:14I think I was expecting
11:15more kitchen space.
11:19I love you,
11:20girl,
11:20but it's massive,
11:21isn't it?
11:21So imagine it's a Sunday,
11:23you put in a roast.
11:24You stand over here.
11:25How does it feel for you?
11:27Oh,
11:27yeah,
11:28I've got a little cake there.
11:28Big enough.
11:29No,
11:29I definitely,
11:30I don't know,
11:32I want bigger.
11:33Bigger?
11:34Yeah,
11:34yeah.
11:35I definitely want bigger,
11:36Neil,
11:38because we have
11:39a lot of family
11:40that will be coming around
11:41for Christmas.
11:42Yeah.
11:42This is a visualisation.
11:44I need you to work with me on this.
11:45If you needed to,
11:47you could extend through.
11:48So you could still continue
11:49the kitchen into there
11:51instead of having a snug area.
11:52Very true.
11:53Like Neil said,
11:53you could be cooking over here.
11:55Your families are over there.
11:57Havana's running around.
11:58The music's on.
12:00You hear a beep.
12:01All the roast is done.
12:02I need to cut it up for everyone.
12:05No,
12:05she wouldn't.
12:06You'd hear the bleep
12:07and she'd say,
12:07Neil!
12:07That's what happened.
12:11This is perfect.
12:11Like,
12:11if you want,
12:12come on,
12:12come on,
12:12Ritchie,
12:12join in with me.
12:13If you wanted,
12:14like,
12:14just do a little bit
12:15of salsa.
12:16You know,
12:16let the hips go.
12:18This is,
12:18yeah,
12:18this is like,
12:19perfect.
12:19You can,
12:20all of this,
12:21you could be turning around.
12:22Oh,
12:22shall we not?
12:22Oh, no.
12:23Yeah,
12:23are you not doing it?
12:24No,
12:24I'm not going to lie.
12:25You look so much better than me.
12:27Those hips don't lie.
12:28Oh,
12:28you know,
12:29Neil.
12:29It never leaves you.
12:31Back to the kitchen space,
12:33you're loving it.
12:34Yeah.
12:35You need to kind of mull over it.
12:37Yeah.
12:37Shall we go and see another room
12:38and see if that works?
12:39Yes.
12:40Well,
12:40follow me.
12:41And let's hope it's big enough,
12:42eh?
12:43Let's follow me to the stairs.
12:46You've got a utility room through there.
12:48I'm sorry.
12:49That's a matter.
12:50You just knocked it.
12:52It's fine.
12:52So this shows that it's a little bit low.
12:56Not for Havana.
12:57And that's what I'm thinking.
12:58And not for me.
12:58Look at me.
12:595'10".
13:00No problem towards Havana.
13:01You get loads in there.
13:02Yeah,
13:02but me and my high heels.
13:03Nah,
13:04you're not walking around
13:04in your high heels around the house.
13:06OK,
13:07so some of the ceilings are in range
13:09for us strapping lads,
13:11but the upstairs vaulted landing is safe.
13:15There's a family bathroom
13:16and three bedrooms.
13:17One is being used as an office.
13:20And this is your beautiful,
13:22characterful main bedroom
13:25with views for days.
13:27Oh,
13:28OK.
13:28This is a good size.
13:29It's beautiful, isn't it?
13:30It is a good size.
13:31You don't think?
13:32No,
13:32it is a good size.
13:33I mean,
13:34height.
13:36I feel tall in here.
13:37This is brilliant.
13:38But listen,
13:39the character.
13:40Yeah,
13:40I do love the character.
13:41And also,
13:41it's a bedroom.
13:42You want it to feel cosy.
13:44Yeah,
13:45I do like the vibes.
13:46I was hoping it was going to be an en suite.
13:49Mm-hmm.
13:49Your bathroom's just next door.
13:51Gets you around the house.
13:52That's true.
13:53Gets me walking.
13:54So we're sitting inside of the house.
13:55Shall we have a look outside
13:56and see if that works
13:57cos I'm thinking Havana.
13:58Is there enough room out there
14:00for her to be playing around?
14:01So there's more than the front garden?
14:02Oh,
14:03come on,
14:03you're going to escape to the country.
14:04We don't mess about.
14:05And it's the celebrity version.
14:07Of course there's more.
14:08Ow!
14:08Come on guys,
14:16out we go.
14:17Nothing to see here.
14:20If you're more concerned
14:22for my welfare
14:23than Neil and China,
14:24I'm pleased to say
14:25all that got hurt
14:26was my pride.
14:28The house is set
14:29in the stunning Dentdale Valley,
14:31so the outside land
14:32is surrounded
14:33by million dollar views.
14:37And this
14:38is one
14:39of your garden spaces,
14:41so that's four
14:42I've counted.
14:43That's nice.
14:45So how much
14:46garden space
14:46would we have then?
14:48Front garden.
14:48Yeah.
14:49A courtyard at the back.
14:50Okay.
14:50Second garden with a shed.
14:52Okay.
14:53Fancy another one.
14:53This one as well.
14:54This one as well.
14:55Oh wow, okay.
14:56And look,
14:56you've got your very own
14:57Christmas tree.
14:58See,
14:59I don't know if I'm sold.
15:01I might need to sit down
15:02a minute, Neil.
15:03Hang on.
15:04I'm sorry.
15:05What exactly?
15:06I'm sorry to play
15:07devil's advocate.
15:08Is it that disgusting view
15:10or the lack of full garden spaces?
15:13But I don't like the idea
15:15of separate garden spaces.
15:17I mean,
15:17have you ever had gardens before?
15:19No,
15:19I've never had gardens.
15:20It's quite the thing to say.
15:22It is quite a thing to say,
15:24but I just don't feel like
15:26we need gardens.
15:28I feel like we need
15:29a lovely big garden.
15:31How much is this
15:31on the market for,
15:32China?
15:33I'd say
15:34£625,000.
15:37Oh,
15:38I think this could be
15:40£660,000 or something.
15:42This is on the market
15:44right at the ceiling
15:45of your budget,
15:46bang on,
15:47£650,000.
15:48Oh wow.
15:50No,
15:50it's a good price.
15:51It's good.
15:52It is.
15:53And this is one
15:53where we could literally
15:54It is turnkey.
15:56Move straight in.
15:57Move straight in.
15:58Yeah.
15:59Still have to set out
16:00the kitchen before Christmas,
16:01but...
16:02Even China
16:05might have to agree
16:06the only thing prettier
16:07than the cha-cha-charming
16:09farmhouse
16:10is its surroundings.
16:12It's a turnkey property
16:13with four gardens
16:15all being available
16:17bang on budget.
16:18Overall,
16:19I actually really
16:20love this house.
16:21I feel like
16:23the outside looks great.
16:24I love that
16:24there's separate gardens.
16:26This is nice.
16:27It is a stunning house
16:28and it has elements of it
16:31which I absolutely love,
16:33but it does have elements
16:34that I'm not so sure of.
16:36And I don't think
16:37it works for us.
16:50Honestly,
16:51this is some of the most
16:51mesmerising scenery
16:53I've ever driven through.
16:55I can totally see the appeal.
16:58I mean, guys,
16:59can we just have a moment
17:00for this picturesque landscape?
17:04Imagine it every day.
17:05Look at it.
17:05It's absolutely stunning, isn't it?
17:08So, Neil,
17:08you've been with
17:09a gorgeous Yorkshire last now
17:11for, is it over three years?
17:12Yes.
17:13Do you know any Yorkshire lingo?
17:15Do you know what?
17:16I don't really,
17:17I know like,
17:18here we go.
17:18Come on, China,
17:19teach him some.
17:20He has, he has.
17:21What are the basics, China?
17:22What do we need to know
17:23to get by in Yorkshire?
17:25Instead of no,
17:26you do no.
17:27No.
17:27No.
17:28No.
17:29No.
17:29Does Havana have any
17:30Yorkshire twang?
17:31She's got a little accent
17:33and I'm loving it.
17:34I honestly want her
17:35to have a Yorkshire accent.
17:36Mum.
17:37Mum.
17:38Mum.
17:39Mumy.
17:39Love that.
17:40Mumy.
17:41Neil.
17:41No Neil.
17:42No Neil.
17:43China.
17:44I'm just going to say something.
17:45I don't think this is the road.
17:46OK.
17:47I think it was the next one.
17:49Is it the next one?
17:49Yeah.
17:50I think we'll...
17:50Maybe go down there
17:51and spin it around.
17:52So, whack it around to the right.
17:53Yeah.
17:54Whack it around.
17:55Stop it there.
17:56Keep it going back.
17:57Straight back.
17:57Or straight.
17:59Or straight.
18:01Sorry,
18:02you guys,
18:02I can't stop laughing.
18:04Our next house
18:05is only 20 minutes south
18:07provided you don't take the wrong turn
18:10in North Yorkshire
18:11and the village of Clapham.
18:14It's said by many
18:15to be one of the prettiest villages
18:16in the Dales
18:17and has an award-winning community shop
18:19supported by 40 volunteers
18:22offering essential products
18:23and prescription delivery.
18:27On the outskirts of the village
18:29near a hamlet called Wham
18:30which I mentioned purely due to the name
18:33our next property
18:34is about as remote
18:36as you can get.
18:40What I love about North Yorkshire
18:41is you don't have to work hard
18:43to find the views, guys.
18:45Oh, no.
18:45This is absolutely stunning.
18:47See, this is what I love about it.
18:49It's space.
18:50It's more than space, Neil.
18:52There ain't anything here.
18:53Are you OK with this
18:55being this remote?
18:56I am.
18:58Well, take a look at this
18:58absolutely stunning,
19:01packed with character,
19:03barn.
19:04Yeah.
19:04Wow.
19:05I like it.
19:06I see the potential there.
19:07It looks good.
19:08I'm not going to lie,
19:09it doesn't get better than this.
19:10I love, like,
19:12the trees and everything.
19:15Neil, I'm obsessed.
19:15You know, just come on,
19:18get the checkbook out.
19:20There we go.
19:20That's done.
19:21We'll see you next time, guys.
19:22No, no, you must see the inside.
19:24You must see the inside.
19:26And the chickens are over there.
19:27I organise a little welcoming committee.
19:29Oh, I love it.
19:29And if you look in front of you,
19:31they are the three Yorkshiredale peaks.
19:34This is unbelievable.
19:35We could go for little hikes up there.
19:37Right, I wouldn't go that far, Neil.
19:39So could we be going from ballroom to barn room?
19:42Shall we go and have a look inside?
19:43Please, let's do it.
19:44See, I'm bad with the dad jokes.
19:46Not too bad.
19:46That's quite good, actually.
19:47Yeah, you'll get there.
19:48You'll get there.
19:52This stone barn was originally
19:54the farmer's milking parlour,
19:56then converted to a dwelling in the late 90s,
19:59and inside, it's the cream of the crop.
20:04Look how stunning this kitchen is.
20:06Oh, my gosh.
20:07Yeah.
20:08I love this.
20:10I love this.
20:11Neil, your face is lighting up over there.
20:13Do you know what?
20:14It's like you've just had a ten.
20:16I've never had that.
20:18I haven't had many.
20:19Oh, whoa, whoa.
20:20China.
20:21Christmas special, I've had a ten.
20:23It doesn't count.
20:23Nowhere else.
20:27Who tends to do the washing up in the relationship?
20:30Moi.
20:30We don't have a dishwasher either.
20:32Can I show you something if you're doing your washing up?
20:34Yeah.
20:34Follow me, Neil.
20:35Oh.
20:35Have a look at that view by your sink.
20:37Oh, that is nice.
20:40Now there shouldn't be any dishes piled up, then, should there?
20:42That's very close.
20:43Do you want to have a look, China?
20:44Stunning.
20:44Come on, don't miss out.
20:45Yeah, don't worry.
20:46You might start washing up.
20:48No, this is stunning.
20:49There's a good-sized lounge whose decor nods to the property's former purpose.
20:59Oh, wow.
20:59Oh, I like this.
21:00I like this a lot.
21:02I do.
21:02Yeah, all the light coming in.
21:04Again.
21:05Fire.
21:06That's so important to me.
21:07You could just imagine if it was snowing outside as well, how beautiful it would be.
21:10It would be like a Christmas card, wouldn't it?
21:12Especially with Havana.
21:13She loves nature like me.
21:15And just like when you're coming around and you're seeing sheep, you know, she will be
21:19going crazy.
21:20She'll be like, sheep, daddy, sheep.
21:21Yeah, she would.
21:22Yeah.
21:22She would see this house and just not want to leave.
21:24Yeah.
21:25It's cosy as well.
21:26Depending on the furniture you put in.
21:27It would feel like we could have more entertaining space.
21:32True.
21:32Because we are entertainers.
21:34But if you didn't have a dining table in here...
21:36Oh, yeah, we'd just sit with our dinners on our laps.
21:38It would be more space there.
21:40We could have a little dance around.
21:43No, we need a dining table.
21:45Well, listen, I'm not too concerned about you saying you want more space.
21:49I'm going to send you off now to have a look around.
21:51And I promise you, China, I pinky promise you, that as you go around, you're going to be
21:56surprised.
21:56I'm so excited.
21:57More to this gorgeous barn than what meets the eye.
22:02The upstairs surpasses their wish list and offers four bedrooms.
22:07Oh, wow.
22:08Oh, this is a good size.
22:09This is a good size.
22:11Let me see.
22:11En suite.
22:12Oh, yeah.
22:13En suite shower and toilet.
22:14This is what I like.
22:17This is...
22:17Oh, oh, wait.
22:20I've got a creaky floorboard.
22:21You know how I get out of bed.
22:24You're asleep.
22:25This is me.
22:25I'm lying in bed.
22:26I get out.
22:29And you...
22:30Neil!
22:32And I'm like, I'm sorry.
22:34But that can be sorted, Neil.
22:35OK.
22:36I like the size.
22:37Yeah.
22:37I'm hoping that there's other rooms that could be my wardrobe space.
22:42Yeah.
22:47OK.
22:47Well, I think...
22:49Is this enough space?
22:49This could be your walking wardrobe.
22:51I definitely don't feel like the lighting space is the best in here.
22:54You mean...
22:55We have one small window.
22:57But, again, the wallpaper, it's quite...
23:00If we think about that, if it was lighter...
23:01I'm thinking about ripping the roof off, Neil.
23:04I'm thinking about starting again.
23:07Might be chilly in the winter, but the views will be great.
23:11In the back corner of the house is the last bedroom.
23:15It's used as a snug and forms a self-contained wing, with its own staircase to a utility room below.
23:22It's a good second living room.
23:25Yeah, I wonder what's down there.
23:29OK.
23:30Wow.
23:30I feel like this is a lot of wasted space.
23:33Yeah.
23:33Totally agree.
23:35Do you know what?
23:35You stay here, I'm going to look at the kitchen, and I'm just going to...
23:38Just...
23:39Wait.
23:40I'll be back.
23:41Up through the snug, then across the house, and back down into the main kitchen, is the other side of that wall.
23:49OK, yeah.
23:49So what I'm seeing...
23:51Have a look.
23:54Oh, yeah.
23:55Chyna?
23:56Yeah?
23:57Yeah.
23:58That's good, isn't it?
23:59Yeah.
23:59So what I'm thinking is, it'd be really brilliant.
24:02We knock through that wall, all the way across, take all of this out so it's under the stairs.
24:07That way, this whole kitchen moves through.
24:10We can have a nice island there, and then have a dining table.
24:15I've got the vision.
24:16I've got the plan.
24:17I think it's going to work out.
24:18You think?
24:20I think so.
24:21I think he's just getting carried away.
24:25Yeah.
24:25There's more to capture Neil's imagination in the garden, which wraps around the house.
24:34It's within the forest of Bolan National Landscape, and while the views are sprawling, the garden is enclosed, safe for children and pets.
24:43And it also comes with a soaking tub.
24:47Do you know what?
24:48Well, it's a good size, because I know walking in, we've got the other side as well.
24:52You know, I've always wanted chickens, because then you get the fresh eggs.
24:55And I'm no joke, I go for about six eggs a day.
24:57Do you?
24:58It's a nightmare.
24:59Yeah.
25:00It's a nightmare.
25:01In one sitting?
25:01Yeah.
25:02Yeah.
25:02I just feel like I'm learning so much about you.
25:04You've got a budget of £650,000.
25:07How much do you think this is on the market for, China?
25:12£660,000.
25:14£660,000?
25:15Yeah.
25:15I think this one might be £550,000.
25:19Oh, £550,000.
25:20£550,000.
25:20Yeah.
25:21I'm dreaming.
25:22You are dreaming, Neil.
25:23Well, we can dream, Neil.
25:24This is on the market for...
25:28£600,000.
25:31Oh!
25:32So I'm the closest.
25:34And you're £50,000 under budget.
25:36That's the main headline here.
25:37Yeah.
25:39There's that champion-winning mentality.
25:42Well under budget, this former milking parlour offers four bedrooms plus generous downstairs
25:48living that could be reconfigured, and it's all surrounded by endless views.
25:59As our first day's house hunting draws to a close, what better way to see how much they
26:04know about the county than with everyone's favourite savoury pudding-based game?
26:12Yorkie or Porkie?
26:15Copyright, Richie Anderson.
26:19I'm about to read out five facts about this wonderful county, and you need to tell me
26:24whether it's a Yorkie, the truth, by holding up your Yorkshire pudding, or a big fat porkie
26:30pie, which is Cockney slang for...
26:33It's a lie!
26:34Isn't this game going to be super fun, Yorkie or Porkie?
26:37Oh, this is going to be great.
26:38It's a Yorkie.
26:39It's going to be true.
26:40It's going to be fun.
26:40Yeah, it is.
26:41Thank you very much.
26:41I think I'm getting it now.
26:42Thank you, Neil.
26:43Yorkshire is home to the highest pub in Britain.
26:48Yorkie or Porkie?
26:49Highest pub.
26:50I'm going to say Yorkie.
26:51Yeah.
26:51I can confirm that it is a Yorkie!
26:54Yay!
26:54One point.
26:55It's, yes, the Tan Hill in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
26:58It's the highest pub in the UK.
27:00The Yorkshire Terrier...
27:02Woof, woof.
27:03...is the UK's most popular dog breed.
27:06Yorkie or Porkie?
27:07I'm going to say Porkie.
27:09I'm going to say Yorkie.
27:10It's a Porkie!
27:12Neil is 2-1 up.
27:14However, however, don't get too cocky.
27:16Up until the 1990s, the Yorkshire Terrier was the most popular dog breed in the UK.
27:21But the 90s saw the rise of the Labrador and the Retriever, who both took the top spot.
27:26I knew it.
27:26The world's first ever football club is from Yorkshire.
27:30True.
27:31Why are you following me?
27:32Because you watch football.
27:33Go on, be your own woman.
27:35Don't do it.
27:35Go against him.
27:37Oh, don't listen to me.
27:39It's a Yorkie!
27:40Honestly, China.
27:42You set me off!
27:43Sheffield FC, founded in 1857.
27:47Officially the world's first football club.
27:49You could go and watch Sheffield FC.
27:51I don't want to now.
27:53No offence, Sheffield FC.
27:55Question number four.
27:56In London 2012 at the Olympics, if Yorkshire had competed as its own nation, it would have
28:02finished 20th in the medal table.
28:05Yorkie or Porkie?
28:0620th is quite bad.
28:08Are you sure, Neil?
28:08Yeah, I'm sure.
28:09I mean, to keep the game interesting, if you got this wrong...
28:13All right.
28:14Oh, Neil, what do you like?
28:15It's a Porkie.
28:16You got it right, China.
28:18Well done.
28:19Athletes from Yorkshire actually did so well that they finished 12th.
28:23This county alone beat the likes of Spain, Canada and South Africa for gold medals.
28:29It's all those hills.
28:30Exactly.
28:31Keeps you fit.
28:32The final question.
28:34It's 3-2.
28:35So I'm going to award two points to whoever gets it right.
28:38Oh my gosh, this needs to be me.
28:39I know this is such a solid game, but we are slightly bending the rules.
28:43So question number five.
28:44A Yorkshire pudding can be any size is...
28:49A Porkie!
28:53Get in there, China.
28:54So according to scientists, a Yorkshire pudding isn't a Yorkshire pudding if it's less than
29:03four inches tall.
29:05I don't know.
29:05I don't think no scientists have ever had a Yorkshire pudding in their life, personally.
29:09Don't be a sore loser, Neil.
29:10Listen, no one likes that.
29:12We'll see you next time.
29:13It's a great game show.
29:14Well, we probably won't.
29:20I'm off to ring my agent to see if there's been any interest.
29:33As a whole, North Yorkshire covers more land than any other county in England and offers
29:39a vast range of homes, many of them with characterful charm, such as this.
29:44Detached, one-bedroom cottage with period features.
29:48There's a separate annex, plus a generous garden with views over a beck, and it's on
29:54the market for £300,000.
29:59Or for offers over £700,000, this double-fronted farmhouse has knockout features, like this kitchen
30:06fireplace and homely living room.
30:09Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, while outside has stables and a paddock.
30:14In an elevated position with rural views.
30:20And for something a little out of the ordinary, how about this butte?
30:25It might look like something from a period drama, and that could be because it's starred in
30:31several.
30:31This 17-bedroom country house sits on a 3,000-acre estate.
30:36And it has a very grand hall, a huge dining room, and a vast library, as well as a striking standout
30:45kitchen, which is part of a three-bedroom, self-contained flat that's available for £700
30:51per night, with a three-night minimum stay.
30:54What a great first day with Neil and Chyna here in beautiful North Yorkshire.
31:02And the headline, China's Changing Attitude.
31:06I feel like she's so wrapped up in how Neil's hers and Havana's new life in the countryside
31:09could be, that she's actually turning into Neil.
31:12She's talking about ripping off roofs, knocking down walls, which is great for our mystery house.
31:17I think they're going to love it because it's one where they can inject a bit of character
31:21and love into it.
31:22But before that, a turnkey option, which I hope will mean that they can keep their hands
31:26and Chyna's nails clean.
31:28Our exciting dale search continues, in the North Yorkshire village of Thornton Rust.
31:37Maybe we overuse the phrase, picture perfect, but this area is picture perfect, even in wet weather.
31:46Nearby are Aysgarth Falls, that featured in the works of Turner, Wordsworth and Robin Hood,
31:52Prince of Thieves.
31:53It's just a 15-minute cycle from here, to the house in question.
31:58Look how beautiful it is.
32:00Our next offering.
32:02This is really nice.
32:03This is stunning.
32:04One little thing I have to say.
32:05Go on.
32:06Blue door, I'm a Liverpool supporter, so I prefer a red door.
32:08But it is stunning.
32:10We'll just take down the Manchester United wallpaper inside.
32:12That'll be fine.
32:15That doesn't exist, Neil.
32:16No, it doesn't.
32:18But the house.
32:19It is a stunning house.
32:20It looks big.
32:21Do you know, everything's quite central.
32:23You like everything symmetrical.
32:24I do like things symmetrical.
32:25It's nice.
32:25Door in the middle, windows either side.
32:28And just to say, it's all of that house.
32:30So those windows at the end.
32:31Yeah, that's what I mean.
32:32Oh, you've thrown it off now.
32:33Now it's no longer symmetrical.
32:35What have you done to it?
32:36That's huge.
32:37It is.
32:37That's what I said.
32:37It looks huge.
32:39Real tight-knit community around here.
32:40I was speaking to the owner of this property, and 12 months ago, they were all talking about
32:44setting up their own salsa classes, but they never got around to it.
32:47So maybe this is a sign.
32:49Little salsa in the village.
32:51I'll just go up the back, guys.
32:52I don't want to show anyone else.
32:55Is that a sign, Neil?
32:56Yeah, it could be.
32:57You know, if they're all wanting to get into dancing, this would be great.
33:00I'm so excited to show you inside this one.
33:02I really am.
33:03It's incredible.
33:04Shall we go and do it?
33:04This semi-detached former farmhouse was built from stone around 1750 and is Grade II listed.
33:14It's been expertly styled to blend original features with modern comforts.
33:20I mean, how cosy is this living room?
33:23Oh, this is.
33:24Oh, yeah.
33:24This is cosy.
33:26This is a good size.
33:27Yeah.
33:27And the beams were cleaned up by the current owners five years ago.
33:30They relayed the floors so they're oak underneath.
33:33As long as it's not creaking.
33:35Yeah.
33:35Cos we know how that annoys out.
33:36Shall we do the creak test?
33:38And I like how high the ceilings are.
33:40Yes.
33:40Yeah.
33:40Still plenty of light coming through the windows.
33:42There's huge windows.
33:43Huge windows, yeah.
33:44Could you imagine a nice, cosy evening by the fire?
33:47Stunning view.
33:49Yeah.
33:49Normally she's laying down and then straight away she's like,
33:51massage my feet and I'm thinking,
33:53I'm the one that's been dancing all day.
33:56Yeah, Neil.
33:57That's much harder than looking after a two-year-old.
34:00Poor doll.
34:03To the rear of the house is a snug or playroom for Havana
34:06while at the front is a dining room,
34:09giving access to the kitchen.
34:12Oh, wow.
34:12Oh, this is a good size.
34:13Yeah.
34:14This is what I was talking about.
34:16See, I'm here to deliver China, you know what I mean?
34:18Yeah, this is what I'm talking about.
34:19I mean, the floor as well is this Indian sandstone.
34:23Gorgeous.
34:24Loveless.
34:24Look at those big slate windowsills over there with the cushions on.
34:28Go and have a purge if you want.
34:29No, it's not an upper roof for both of us, sorry.
34:31This is, I just...
34:32Oh, wow.
34:33No.
34:35She's looking out the window.
34:36Neil, come on, share.
34:37With my matcha.
34:39Share.
34:40No, this is nice.
34:41This is nice.
34:42I feel like Havana would love this.
34:43Yeah.
34:44Watching us cook, because she loves to see us cook.
34:47Suits you that to his China?
34:48Start calling you fine China sat there.
34:51Could you imagine?
34:53And knowing that you could cook, and like we say, Havana could sit up here.
34:56Yes.
34:56Reading her books and all like that.
34:58And on a vanity note, I'm just going to say, guys, imagine the social media posts on here.
35:02Look at all I can see the lighting.
35:03Look at this.
35:05It is great lighting.
35:06I mean...
35:07I'm not going to lie.
35:07How many likes is that going to get?
35:09Come on.
35:10No filter needed, Neil, you know what I mean?
35:12Drop the repost.
35:14Wow.
35:16The kitchen window is good for likes, but there's more to love upslash.
35:21I love this window.
35:23I love it.
35:24Where there are four bedrooms.
35:27I love this.
35:28I love the big windows.
35:29Yeah.
35:30Ceilings.
35:31Good height, yeah.
35:33Perfect.
35:33There's a lot that we could do with this.
35:35Ooh, another good-sized room.
35:37I love this.
35:38I feel like this would be perfect for Havana.
35:41Do you know what I'm thinking?
35:42A bathtub in the room.
35:44How great is that?
35:46No.
35:46No, Neil.
35:47Just a bathtub.
35:48What do you need a bathtub for?
35:49You don't even go in the bath.
35:50I love a bath.
35:51You're literally a shower person.
35:53You go in the bath, like, what, twice a year?
35:56No, no.
35:56What do you need a bath in the bedroom for?
35:57No, I go...
35:58I don't want to watch you bath, by the way, whilst I'm in bed.
36:01I am so in love with this charming village, and one of my favourite things is, it's still
36:06got a working telephone box.
36:08Hey, was it Wonder Woman who used to go in the telephone box, do the spin, and then come
36:12out in her costume?
36:13Hmm.
36:14Forget Wonder Woman.
36:22The way this house door's going, it's Wonder Ritchie.
36:25Actually, I think it was Superman, but I've not got the right pants on.
36:29Oh, OK, this is cute.
36:34This is a nice guest room.
36:37They have their own bathroom.
36:39It's a good space.
36:40Yeah.
36:40And it is big.
36:41The other three bedrooms are huge, which allows us, if we want to have another child, we have
36:46another bedroom.
36:47I can already see this.
36:48You really want this child.
36:50And then we have a guest room.
36:54Or, if we choose to have a third child...
36:56Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
36:59Or, when I'm in trouble, I can come and stay here.
37:02Sounds more like it.
37:04Out the back door is a substantial paved patio, and lawn wraps around the other two sides,
37:10all embellished with elements giving an old-world charm.
37:14Plus, a washing line.
37:18Come and join me in the sunshine.
37:21Oh, get that on your face.
37:23Neil, does this garden work for you?
37:24Do you know what?
37:25It's really lovely, but I'm not going to lie.
37:27It's a bit small for me.
37:28Have you looked around there?
37:29Let me have a little look.
37:30Don't pop your head around.
37:31Oh.
37:32Small.
37:32He doesn't know what he's on about.
37:33Is he OK?
37:34Yeah, it's not bad, but, you know, I'm thinking a little bit more land.
37:37Imagine, nice little barbecue in the summer.
37:40Love that.
37:40We're outside, nice little coffee, sun shining.
37:43The room size is good.
37:45The room size is good.
37:46You only need a little bit.
37:48Maybe the price might help.
37:51OK.
37:51OK.
37:52I'm actually thinking it's over budget.
37:54OK.
37:56660.
37:57Well, that won't help us, will it?
37:58China, what do you think?
38:00I'll say 600.
38:01Imagine if this was 50 grand under budget.
38:04That would be amazing.
38:04No, that would be amazing.
38:05But imagine if it was 100 grand under budget.
38:10This is on the market for £550,000.
38:14Shut the front door.
38:16You've changed your tone.
38:18Wow.
38:19Just make the check out to escape to the country.
38:21As long as it doesn't cost us 100 grand just to paint that front door.
38:24I'll do it for £99,000.
38:28This former farmhouse has well-proportioned rooms packed with period charm.
38:33And the garden is pretty as a picture, all for £550,000.
38:38I have to say, what's nice is it's tanky.
38:42You could just move straight in.
38:44But I don't know, there's just something about me.
38:46I just...
38:47I'm itching for a project.
38:48You don't need a project.
38:50We don't need something that we need to add heating, electricity, walls, roof.
38:55I'm sure I could find something.
38:58No.
38:58Neil is, of course, best known for Strictly Come Dancing.
39:13And while life now might appear to be all sequins and spray tans,
39:16it hasn't always been that way.
39:20So I wanted to take a break from the house hunt, Neil,
39:23to talk about something that I know is close to your heart
39:26and helping people who are going through a tough time.
39:29Because you yourself have had experience with homelessness.
39:32Yeah, it was a period when I was training in Finland.
39:36I was living out there.
39:38And one thing after another, I found myself homeless.
39:41And it was just one of those things that you find yourself, like, embarrassed.
39:45You don't want to tell friends and family.
39:48And you're trying to hide it the best you can.
39:50But luckily enough, you know, a charity came along
39:54and they helped me out and really just helped me find a way for what I could do.
40:01So, you know, because of them, I feel like it's where I am today.
40:06In towns like Harrogate, local businesses work alongside charities
40:10by offering essentials, including clothes and food.
40:16So why is it important for you to get involved and donate this
40:19to people in the community and the wider rural community
40:22who are in need at the moment?
40:24I think it's because Betty's has been part of the local community
40:27for over 100 years.
40:29They've given us so much,
40:30so we feel like we really want to give back to everyone else.
40:33So we usually donate most of our breakfast items and our breads,
40:37things that stay fresh for a couple of days.
40:40Well, Lizzie, we are your delivery men.
40:42Yes.
40:42Oh, amazing.
40:44You look a little bit underwhelmed.
40:45Shall we start packing it up?
40:47Yes.
40:48We're taking these foodstuffs along with other donations to St Peter's Church.
40:54Look at that.
40:55Where cooked breakfasts, free of charge,
40:58are made available to those in need of one.
41:03Alan Garrow is one of the vicars.
41:05What is the ethos behind the breakfast club?
41:09We want anybody who needs it to have a place where they can be warm,
41:13known, received, accepted, given some food,
41:16and sent out into the day, hopefully, feeling somebody loves me,
41:20somebody knows who I am, somebody cares about me,
41:22someone will mind if I don't come the next day.
41:24Coming to a place like this, the same for me, helped me,
41:28because, you know, it was the one place I actually felt welcomed
41:30and I didn't feel embarrassed.
41:32I never felt embarrassed.
41:33And that's, I think that's incredible what you're doing.
41:35How important is the issue of food poverty in rural communities?
41:39Well, food is expensive,
41:42and I think that employment in rural communities
41:44is also not necessarily easy to get hold of.
41:48I mean, people might think that Harrogate is a place
41:50where the streets are paved with gold,
41:52but you can see today there are people with genuine need here,
41:56so that'll be true everywhere.
41:57And one thing that I imagine you could both agree on,
42:00a place like this really relies on volunteers?
42:03It takes five people to do a breakfast service,
42:06and we do it Monday through to Saturday.
42:08Yeah.
42:08So that's quite a lot of people,
42:10and they're incredibly generous people.
42:12They have to be here at 7.30 in the morning there
42:14through until about 9.15.
42:17Yeah, of course.
42:18I'm joining the lovely volunteers in the kitchen.
42:21Thankfully, I'm with these two incredible ladies, Sue and Veronica.
42:24How long have you been volunteering for, Veronica?
42:27Since March, I think.
42:29Well, you've been here longer, Sue, haven't you?
42:3120 years.
42:32You've been volunteering for 20 years?
42:34Yeah.
42:34Sue, that's amazing.
42:36And Neil is front of house taking the orders.
42:39Bacon?
42:40Yes, please.
42:40Beans?
42:41Yes, please.
42:42This is my first time.
42:42What are you doing fine?
42:43No sauce.
42:44Coffee, one sugar, please.
42:46Okay, I'll get that sorted out for you straight away.
42:50You know, I've been in this situation,
42:51and I remember just the little bits of help
42:53where it's either a place to stay or, you know, warm food.
42:57It's everything, you know,
42:58because it's one little thing you don't have to worry about.
43:02Janie is a regular here,
43:04following the death of her mother,
43:06for whom she was a carer.
43:07Now, I've been coming here for about two years.
43:11Yeah.
43:11When I first came here, I was really, really thin,
43:14so I wasn't eating hardly anything.
43:15Oh, okay.
43:16And they've really built me up to feel much better now.
43:19Oh, that's brilliant.
43:20So it's a wonderful church.
43:22It's always nice and warm in here.
43:24Yeah.
43:24Where I'm staying, my room is absolutely freezing.
43:27And they're so good.
43:28We've got a bag.
43:29Every year we get a bag.
43:30Yeah.
43:30A Christmas bag.
43:32With about eight things in it,
43:34from socks, pair of gloves.
43:36Because that's the thing.
43:37And that's what people don't realise.
43:38That's the important stuff, you know, they're saying.
43:41Because I've been in that same situation.
43:43And then even when I'm walking along,
43:45if I do see someone,
43:46it's more likely, do you need something?
43:48Yes, yes.
43:49What do you need?
43:50You know, because it might be something.
43:51Someone might just turn around and go,
43:53I've got no toothpaste.
43:54Yeah.
43:55You know, it could just be that you chose a career
43:58that's just turned upside down
44:00and just that one little thing's gone wrong.
44:02And next thing you know, you're on the street.
44:04Everyone will have their own story.
44:05But you do get people just walking past you,
44:08you know, constantly.
44:09And they're just put in their own heads
44:11who you are and what you've done.
44:13Everyone is so kind here and so nice.
44:16And that's what I'm picking up.
44:18And that's really important
44:19because it is about being seen.
44:21The number of homeless people
44:23in rural communities is growing.
44:25But the problem is less visible than in towns,
44:28with some people taking shelter in remote barns
44:30or camping in fields.
44:33And I've met so many friends
44:34because if I didn't come here,
44:36I wouldn't have anybody.
44:37Yeah.
44:37I'd literally be on my own.
44:39I just love it.
44:40Our final Dale's offering
44:55is in the Yorkshire village of Stalling Busk,
44:58which, according to an online source,
45:00you know the one,
45:02means stallion's bush.
45:04Blimey.
45:04And it is dazzling.
45:11Here we go then.
45:12It's Mystery House time.
45:13And I'm not going to lie,
45:14this one's for Neil.
45:16It needs a little bit of love,
45:18but I promise you,
45:19all the bones are there.
45:21And yesterday,
45:22China hinted that she wouldn't be against a project,
45:25so it could be a match made in heaven.
45:27Come and I'll show you what I mean.
45:29This stone cottage lay derelict for some time
45:32and is now used as a second home.
45:35It currently doesn't have central heating
45:36and requires some modernisation.
45:40What really excites me is
45:42Neil's a visionary.
45:43He's so creative.
45:45And I just know
45:46that he's going to start pinpointing
45:48exactly what he wants to do with it.
45:50And there's just so much potential.
45:53While China is less keen on a project,
45:57hopefully the location will win her round.
45:59I mean, wowsers.
46:04This is lovely.
46:05Well, it's just as well you said it's lovely
46:07because this is your mystery house.
46:10Wow.
46:11This is stunning.
46:12I love all this stonework.
46:13I think the stonework is beautiful.
46:17And to me, looks like a project.
46:20I don't know if this is too much of a project.
46:23Never too much of a project.
46:24It's not just this.
46:25What?
46:25The outbuilding's here
46:27as part of the house.
46:29You're joking.
46:30And, not joking, Neil.
46:31I'm a serious man.
46:33Also, the building here.
46:34This used to be a pottery kiln.
46:36Oh.
46:36So all of this
46:37is part of the mystery house.
46:38That is so cool.
46:39It's a lot of...
46:40..work.
46:43This potentially could be
46:45for friends.
46:46Like, we could literally put its own
46:48little living room in it.
46:49Kitchen, maybe.
46:51And when I'm looking at that...
46:53I don't know what it's like on the inside,
46:54but that could be a possible studio.
46:56Should we go and have a look on the inside?
46:57Can we?
46:57Of course we can, Neil.
46:58This is your mystery house.
46:59You can do what you want.
47:00Yes.
47:02I'm not sure Neil's addressed
47:04China's concern there,
47:06but I love his enthusiasm.
47:08Previous inquiries suggest
47:10both barns could be renovated
47:12for residential use.
47:14Straight away, dance studio.
47:15The Neil Jones School of Dancing.
47:18Yeah.
47:18Do you know what it is?
47:19It's quite easy.
47:21I've done it before,
47:22levelled out the whole floor.
47:23It's whether you choose
47:24to dig down and in
47:26or you can actually
47:27just build up a structure
47:28that makes the floor slightly higher.
47:30Because it's such high ceilings,
47:32not a problem.
47:33What's nice about it is
47:34it's time that I get to spend
47:36with you two,
47:38with the girls.
47:39Because usually,
47:39I guess with this kind of thing,
47:40you'd go away to a studio.
47:41Go away.
47:42So it could be on your doorstep.
47:43I could literally wake up in the morning.
47:45Watch you.
47:45She could watch.
47:46If we've got the extra space there,
47:48I can bring some of the dancers up.
47:50Don't forget Blackpool week.
47:51It'll be Yorkshire week.
47:52Yeah.
47:52Honestly.
47:54What do you think, China?
47:57It's something.
47:58It's a good space.
48:00It's an incredible space.
48:01Um, yeah.
48:04Technically, she said yes, Neil.
48:07I'd quit while you're ahead.
48:08Let's go and see the main house.
48:10I mean, this is just potential
48:12in spade loads.
48:14This is stunning.
48:16The tradition in here.
48:18The beams.
48:19The open brickwork around the fire.
48:21I imagine, like,
48:24even, like,
48:25sanding these down
48:25and lighting them up.
48:27You can make this into
48:28our dream home.
48:30Like,
48:30I see the vision.
48:32Yes!
48:33The bones are there.
48:34It's there.
48:35The structure's there.
48:36Look.
48:37Look at this space.
48:38This is...
48:38You've got to think.
48:39I see the space.
48:41I'm seeing the space.
48:43We will get it done
48:44before we move in.
48:45That's all about tick.
48:46Two years?
48:46No.
48:47No.
48:47If we find the right people,
48:49it could be done real quick.
48:51How great would it be,
48:52Chyna,
48:52to know that you've
48:53done this up yourself?
48:55That is true.
48:56Yes.
48:57Maybe when I see
48:58the rest of the rooms,
48:59I might change my mind.
49:01Shall we go through
49:01to the kitchen?
49:02Yes.
49:03Follow me.
49:04And keep those vision goggles
49:05on, Chyna.
49:06They're so good.
49:09Those vision goggles
49:10need turning up
49:11for the utility room,
49:12which requires
49:13a bit of finishing,
49:14but the kitchen
49:15is in a better state.
49:17Oh, wow.
49:20Come on.
49:20Oh, Chyna.
49:23This isn't that bad.
49:24What's going on?
49:25It's the light,
49:26the view.
49:28The view is stunning,
49:29isn't it?
49:29Look at that.
49:31Okay.
49:31This is nice.
49:32She's incredible.
49:33When it comes to interior,
49:35I trust her 100%.
49:36But do you not think
49:37it's a bit much?
49:38No.
49:39No, because
49:40we're still young.
49:41You're still young.
49:43We're still young.
49:44We're a similar age, Neil.
49:45Don't do me dirty like that.
49:47We are all young.
49:48We're still young.
49:48Very young.
49:49And we're looking
49:50for a forever home.
49:51Let your imagination
49:52run away with you.
49:53Oh, I am.
49:54Pretend you're planning
49:54couple's choice.
49:55Oh, yeah.
49:56This is going to be
49:57the best couple's choice
49:58ever.
49:59It might be more
49:59of an individual choice.
50:01I don't think it's
50:01couple's choice.
50:02This is getting a BAFTA,
50:04this one.
50:05How long have you been
50:06on Strictly for now?
50:0710 years.
50:0810 years?
50:0910 years.
50:09Do you get something
50:10for your 10th year?
50:10You don't get a partner,
50:11for sure.
50:12That's the 11th year.
50:15That's the 11th year.
50:16Maybe I'll be on
50:17the Christmas special
50:18and I'll win it.
50:19So the downstairs
50:20of the house.
50:21Yes.
50:22How would you sum it up?
50:23So far, I think it is
50:25absolutely brilliant.
50:26And Chyna, I feel like
50:27you need to see
50:28a bit more of the house.
50:29Yeah, I need to see a lot more.
50:31And I'll ask you that question at the end.
50:32Do you want to have a look upstairs?
50:33Yes.
50:34Because these stairs
50:35are quite nice.
50:35They're nice, aren't they?
50:36These are great.
50:37Because you can dance
50:38at least.
50:40Oh, wow.
50:41See, and that's
50:41what I don't want.
50:43I have enough of that
50:44on a daily basis.
50:46See, it's making me
50:47feel all really creative.
50:47I love it.
50:48Do you know
50:49what we want to see now?
50:50Chyna do it.
50:51Come on, Chyna.
50:51Go on, Chyna.
50:52Come on.
50:53Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
50:55Hoo, hoo.
50:57That was quite good.
50:58A three.
50:59No, I'm joking.
50:59It was very good, Chyna.
51:00It was very good.
51:02A major selling point
51:03of this house
51:04is the amount of space
51:05and upstairs
51:07the brochure lists
51:08five bedrooms.
51:09This could be
51:10a little bit of an area
51:11where Havana can play around.
51:13Right now,
51:14it does feel dark.
51:16I'd say
51:16remove the roof.
51:19What has she got
51:21against roofs?
51:22The largest bedroom
51:23is at the front
51:24of the house.
51:25Oh, this is fantastic.
51:25I like this.
51:27I think this is probably
51:28my favourite part
51:29of the house.
51:30Like, I love
51:31the beams.
51:33Yeah.
51:33It has a lot of potential.
51:34I do see.
51:39There's a family bathroom,
51:41which we won't worry
51:42Chyna with for now,
51:43because I think
51:44she'll be more impressed
51:45by the additional
51:46reception room
51:46downstairs.
51:49Oh, yeah.
51:50OK.
51:51This is cosy.
51:53Do you know
51:53what I'm saying here?
51:54Dining room.
51:56Oh, I was going
51:56to say playroom.
51:57You've got the living room
51:58through there,
51:58but you can come through.
51:59The kitchen is there.
52:01Friends and that
52:02could be sat
52:02in the living room
52:03and you're like,
52:04food's ready.
52:05And they come
52:06through that door
52:07and you're just
52:07coming through
52:08with a tray.
52:09Or you can come
52:10through the tray
52:11like, yay.
52:12Yeah, yeah, yeah.
52:12Yeah.
52:13And you could be
52:13sat down,
52:14head at the table.
52:16How nice is that?
52:17I'm seeing it.
52:21Outside is incredible.
52:24I'd move straight
52:24into that barn
52:25for views like this.
52:26Wow.
52:30Richie, look at
52:31these views.
52:32Listen, another reason
52:33I wanted to bring you
52:34here was for this.
52:36I mean, I don't think
52:38I've ever seen a view
52:39like this from a property.
52:42This is absolutely stunning.
52:44OK, you should have
52:44started with that.
52:46I'm thinking infinity pool
52:48looking out or sauna
52:51with the glass window
52:52looking out.
52:53Wow.
52:54And tell me,
52:54do we get that
52:56bit of land as well?
52:57This is all your garden.
52:58So everything you can see
52:59on the stone wall,
53:00this is all your boundary.
53:02I'm not going to lie,
53:03it's a great-sized garden.
53:05Should we talk about
53:06the price of the house?
53:08Yeah.
53:08I'm going to say
53:09£500,000.
53:12£500,000.
53:13I want to say
53:14it could be like
53:16more like £450,000.
53:17Chyna, you were correct.
53:18It's on the market
53:19for £500,000.
53:21So £150,000
53:23under budget.
53:25Wow.
53:26That's incredible.
53:26All those things
53:27you're talking about,
53:27that will really help
53:28towards it.
53:29Oh, 100%.
53:31Priceless views
53:32and well under budget.
53:34This substantial stone cottage
53:36is packed with potential,
53:38only limited by imagination,
53:40as long as Neil
53:41can sell China on it.
53:42We've toured some beautiful scenery
53:53that Neil,
53:55Chyna
53:55and Havana
53:56could enjoy
53:57from any of the remarkable homes
53:59in our line-up.
54:01So can they see a future
54:02in any of them?
54:04Right then,
54:05we've seen some incredible properties
54:06this week.
54:07So different as well.
54:09Where's your head up?
54:10My head
54:11is really,
54:12it's the last property.
54:14In the mystery house.
54:15In the mystery house.
54:16I see the vision.
54:18I'm so excited about it
54:19because
54:19the views,
54:21number one.
54:22Because,
54:22you know what,
54:23you've got to agree on it.
54:25No, that was...
54:26It's one of those things
54:27where
54:27some of the houses
54:28were beautiful.
54:29Inside,
54:30you walk around going,
54:31this is great,
54:31this is lovely.
54:32But there's a reason
54:33why we're moving
54:33to the countryside.
54:35I'm definitely down
54:36selling the boat.
54:38Yeah,
54:39I love my boat
54:40but I'm down for selling the boat
54:42because,
54:42honestly,
54:43if that means
54:44we can get that property
54:45and we can use that money
54:47also to be able to do it up,
54:49I'm down for that.
54:50But another project.
54:52And another project
54:54of a bigger scale.
54:56And you are always
54:58working
54:59and away.
55:00But look,
55:00think about this.
55:01Rome wasn't built in a day
55:02but look at Rome now.
55:03It's stunning.
55:04And how many years
55:05did that take?
55:05Yeah,
55:06we won't take as long
55:06because I want to be around
55:07for the end of it.
55:09But remember,
55:09I had two years
55:10of the boat
55:10being built.
55:12Built.
55:13And then now
55:14you want me to have
55:15probably another two years
55:16of another property.
55:17But the difference is
55:18I was doing
55:19most of the work
55:20on the boat.
55:21This one,
55:21I'll come up with the designs
55:22but I'll let professionals
55:24get on
55:24because they're going
55:24to be quicker.
55:25So that means
55:25when I'm on tour,
55:26it's still happening.
55:28If Neil goes in
55:30like he says he is
55:31and he did all the work
55:32to it,
55:32and he gave
55:34that incredible property
55:35and that incredible setting
55:37a new lease of life,
55:38could that be somewhere
55:39where you could see yourself
55:40bringing up a family?
55:42Oh,
55:42100%.
55:43I can see the potential.
55:45I just then
55:47don't want to see it
55:47until it's done.
55:49It's fine.
55:49It's fine by me.
55:50Listen,
55:51I honestly think
55:51the world of both of you
55:52and I cannot wait
55:53to be the first guest
55:55in that guest house
55:56over the road.
55:57Yeah.
55:58Oh,
55:58we'll put you
55:59in the main house,
55:59don't worry.
56:00It's trying to get a sleep.
56:02Don't worry.
56:03I won't be there.
56:11I've had such
56:12a wonderful week
56:13exploring the magical
56:15and charming
56:16North Yorkshire countryside.
56:18I mean,
56:18I would give that
56:19a 10.
56:20And for someone like Neil
56:21who's spent all of his life
56:22on the move,
56:24I'm delighted to hear
56:25that he wants to lay down
56:26his family's roots
56:27in a surrounding like this.
56:29But why wouldn't you?
56:31And China,
56:32I'm sorry.
56:33I tried with the turnkey properties,
56:35but this is Neil.
56:36He was always going to be
56:37grabbed by a project.
56:39He was always going to want
56:40to get his teeth
56:41stuck into something.
56:43I'm so happy to hear
56:44that they're taking
56:45our mystery house seriously.
56:47They're going to go away now
56:48and just work out
56:48their finances.
56:50And like Neil said,
56:51he's even considering
56:52selling his beloved boat.
56:54But come on,
56:55when this is on your doorstep,
56:57who needs a boat?
57:02If you'd like to escape
57:03to the country in England,
