00:00A horrifying case of prolonged abuse has come to light from Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh.
00:04A 70-year-old retired railway clerk, Omprakash Singh Rathor, died due to alleged neglect,
00:09while his mentally challenged daughter, Rashmi, was found in an extremely critical condition
00:14after years of captivity. After the death of Omprakash's wife in 2016,
00:19he and his daughter moved to a separate house. Around the same time, a couple,
00:23Ramprakash Kushwaha and his wife, Ram Devi, were hired as caretakers. According to the family,
00:29the caretakers gradually took control of the house, confined Omprakash and Rashmi to ground
00:33floor rooms, and denied them proper food, medical care, and contact with relatives.
00:38Family members alleged the motive was to grab property and assets.
00:41On December 29, 2025, relatives were informed of Omprakash's death.
00:46When they reached the house, they found his body severely emaciated.
00:49Rashmi was discovered naked, starved, and skeletal in a dark room, barely alive.
00:54Doctors declared Omprakash dead on arrival, citing chronic lung disease.
00:58Rashmi has now been rescued and is under family care.
