00:00Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my channel. I wanted to talk to you guys today about my
00:05master plan to visit every country in the world. If you don't know who I am, I'm Mary Jane and I
00:13have been on a mission to visit every single country in the world for nine years and 2025,
00:19I'm sorry, we're in 2026. 2026 is the year that I plan to complete this goal.
00:26You might say, how in the world does somebody plan to visit every country in the world? And
00:33you would be right to ask that question because it is incredibly difficult. I think at first my
00:38goal was just to travel with no plans, just keep going to a country if I haven't been to it yet.
00:44And of course I hit all the easy countries already. I've done all of Europe, I've done East Asia,
00:50I've done, you know what I'm saying? Like I did a lot of all the easy countries, all the places
00:55everybody goes. I've pretty much been to that country. If it's an easy country to go to,
01:01if it's well-traveled, I've been there for the most part. Not every place, but most places.
01:08I've done the backpacking journey, I've done all that. I have 56 quite difficult countries to get to.
01:16A majority of them are in Africa. And they're places that need to get finished too, so that I
01:26can be able to say that I have successfully visited every country in the world. I made myself a master
01:33plan and I'm going to share with you guys just in case, I don't know, inquisitive mind wants to know.
01:38Okay. Boom! Here is my 2020s. It's probably, I'm realizing this is probably inverted for you,
01:48but this is my 2026 master plan to finish visiting every country in the world. It might look a little
01:55chaotic, let me break it down. So it's 2026 obviously, and I have 56 countries to finish visiting
02:03this year. I have split up this journey into four phases. So there is phase one, phase two,
02:15phase three, and phase four. Basically the phases are, I've split up these 56 countries and I looked at
02:26the map of the world and I said, where are the most countries concentrated that I have not been to?
02:33And that would be in West Africa. Africa has a lot of countries in it. Africa is the continent with
02:40the most countries. It's got 56 countries inside of this continent. Actually, this map is not even
02:49accurate. The world map that we use in the world is not accurate. Africa, you see how tiny it is on
02:57this map. Africa should actually be bigger than here and here. Africa is bigger than the United States,
03:06but for some reason on the map, they look the same size. Africa is freaking huge. This African continent
03:12should actually take up this much space. We actually deal with an inaccurate map because the globe is
03:19around. So the world is flat. The world is not flat, contrary to, you know, people, but the world
03:28actually wraps around. And because the earth wraps around, we can't accurately put it on a flat sheet of
03:36paper. But since we do put the world on a flat sheet of paper, a lot of countries or a lot of continents
03:43end up getting shrunk in size, just because it's on a flat map. If this were an accurate depiction of
03:51the world, Africa would be blown up and it would take the whole front of this. Africa is giant. Okay,
04:00it is huge. So if you're looking at this little continent on this piece of paper on your average map,
04:07and you're trying to judge Africa based on this, you're totally mistaken. It should be about this
04:13big. This continent is giant. Okay. And it has 54 countries in it. And the most countries that I have
04:21not been to in my life sit right here. This little Western horn of Africa has countries, Senegal,
04:30the Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bijoux, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Niger, Mali, Abituriel, Guinea,
04:40Cape Verde, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Benin, and Togo. That is 16 countries. And that is my phase one of
04:482026. Phase one, go finish the countries. There is a ton of countries that are sitting right here.
04:57That is my number one game plan. I'm right here right now in Japan. I'm literally on the other
05:03side of the planet. I am going to fly here to West Africa. And I'm going to keep my butt there
05:11and visit the next country, the next country, the next, next, next, next, until I complete
05:15the entire West African horn. That will be phase one. Now I do have four more phases,
05:24but I don't want to get too complicated here with explaining. I want to focus on phase one.
05:32If I can split my journey up into chunks or up into phases, phase one, phase two, phase three,
05:39phase four, that is the only way I'm actually going to be able to finish visiting these countries.
05:45So, uh, what is the biggest obstacles I have facing my journey of visiting every country in the world?
05:53I've got two obstacles. I've got three obstacles. Okay. So I'm a very well seasoned traveler. So I am
06:01solo traveling all these countries, but I've solo traveled over 100 countries. So the part that I'm
06:08alone and all that, like, that's okay. I'm not worried about that at all, but we do have some
06:12obstacles. Let me tell you about them. There's three main issues here. Issue number one is
06:18Tuvalu. Tuvalu is the world's least traveled country. It only has a couple hundred travelers
06:26every year. It is the country that, like I just said, it's the least traveled country in the world.
06:35It sits out in the water here off the coast of Australia, and there's not commercial flights
06:40that go to this country, right? So what makes Tuvalu so incredibly difficult to travel is
06:47since nobody goes there, you kind of have to figure out how to get a flight and you have to hire and pay
06:55for your own plane ride. And you're going to be the only one on the plane because nobody goes there.
07:01So it's extremely expensive. It's about $20,000 just to hire the pilot to take you to Tuvalu because
07:09he would only be flying you there and flying you back on a plane all by yourself. So that's where the
07:14$20,000 cost comes in. Visiting this country of Tuvalu is $20,000 requires a lot of planning and stuff
07:22like that. So, um, and you have to fly to a neighboring country, blah, blah, blah. So that is going to be one of my
07:28the most difficult because of how expensive it is. Another country that, and how little it is
07:34traveled. Another country that's going to be difficult is Sudan. Sudan is extremely, extremely
07:42dangerous to travel. And I will be going there all by myself, solo traveling. So that is, I titled
07:49Sudan red level hard. And I titled Tuvalu red level hard because they are basically two of my biggest
07:58obstacles. Another big obstacle I have is funding all of this. So if you think that it's just easy
08:05for me to travel 56 countries in one year, it is not easy. Phase one alone is going to cost me around
08:12$20,000. So I have been fundraising. I started a GoFundMe and I've been trying to raise a total of
08:2360,000. That would help me with a ton of flights. It would also help me with a ton of visas. I basically
08:33need, uh, over 40 visas this year. They add up and all the flights I have to take are insane. I'm going
08:41to be over on one over. I'm going to be on over 100 flights this year because a lot of the countries I'm
08:50going to, they do not have direct flights. A lot of these countries like Equatorial Guinea, Guinea,
08:56Bijou, Togo, Benin, Mali, Tuvalu, you can't just fly directly there. They reroute you to all these
09:05different airports. And basically, uh, some of these countries, I'm going to be flying all over the
09:11place just to get to them. So all the flights, all the visas, all the accommodation, it's extremely
09:18expensive. So I've been fundraising and I have a GoFundMe that I would like to raise. I think I
09:24could fundraise, um, with the help of you guys, the entire GoFundMe within two and a half weeks.
09:32And that's when I will leave for my journey. So yes, I made another chart here. Boom. These are two
09:42different amounts that would be incredibly helpful, um, and would help a lot during my journey.
09:50$30. So $30, a $30 donation, uh, would go directly toward a hotel stay or a hostel or an Airbnb that I
10:00stay in this year. Um, or a visa. These visas add up. Oh my gosh, they're so expensive. Um, and they add
10:10up really quickly when you try to visit 56 countries. So $30, a $30 donation would go towards
10:17accommodation, hotel, or a visa. Accommodation, hotel are the same thing. But what I mean by that
10:23is I won't always be in a hotel. Sometimes I'll be in an Airbnb. Sometimes I'll be in a hostel. So
10:30$30, a $30 donation would go towards a place for me to stay this year because I will be traveling
10:36when I leave the entire year and or a visa. So basically a travel cost. $30 donation would go
10:45towards that. $100 donation would go towards a piece of tech. So I actually sold my camera
10:51earlier in the year. I sold my laptop earlier in the year. I would love to get a new laptop. I was
10:57looking at them today. My dream camera is the Sony a7rb. And I just want that camera to be able to
11:03document these countries beautifully. You know, when you're in Africa with the animals,
11:08you do not want to be like, you just want to take the world's best videos. You know what I mean?
11:14So I have been saving up to get a new camera. I also want to get a drone. I think drone shots in
11:20these countries would be beautiful. I also want to get a new laptop. So $100 donation would go
11:25towards a piece of tech. So these are two donation amounts that I am requesting if you guys would be
11:34willing to give to my GoFundMe. $30 would go towards a hotel or a visa or a flight. Actually, I should
11:42have put flight here. $100 donation would go towards a piece of tech. I'm getting a drone, a new camera
11:48and a laptop all together that's going to be $6k or something, maybe more than $6k. So yeah, these are
11:55two donation amounts. Could you donate $30 to my GoFundMe to help with a hotel visa or stay or $100?
12:06It would go towards a piece of tech. And every day I will be shouting you guys out and thanking you.
12:12Um, and I will be giving updates every single day, uh, to keep you guys very up to breast on this
12:19challenge. I would never quit this mission of visiting every country in the world. The only
12:25thing I do is try to plan better, but I would never, ever, ever quit or give up on this goal.
12:33So we have not been hitting the fundraising goals, uh, this last couple of months, but, uh, so it's
12:42just required me to step back and plan a little bit more, but we're going back in to see if we can do
12:49this. This is my master plan. It's going to work. We're focusing on phase one first, these first 16
12:55countries in the Western horn of Africa, we're going to get them done. So I would love to leave
13:00within two weeks. I would love to leave as soon as the GoFundMe is totally raised. And so that is
13:07our current plan. Make sure you're subscribed to this YouTube channel. Please make sure you're
13:11subscribed and hit the like button because this is going to be crazy. You guys, this journey is going
13:16to be so crazy. Have you ever heard of a girl trying to solo travel the whole world? Come on,
13:22come on. And I refuse to give up. I would never, ever, ever give up. Uh, but the only thing is sometimes
13:30I have to pivot and bob and weave and try to figure out how to make this incredibly ambitious dream
13:37happen. And so, yeah, follow me on TikTok. I just started a TikTok, MaryJaneTravels underscore.
13:43Follow me on Instagram, MaryJane underscore travels. And I will be sharing with you guys every single
13:49day updates. I will be thanking you guys publicly. So I have people to thank right now. So, um,
13:56we had, let me see, hold on.
14:00Yeah.
14:00I will be sharing your education.
