00:00We're back in Charlottesville grades and we've brought back every jet lag winner to play tag
00:06across Europe once again. But that bell means a 6 a.m. Toby and I, we're the winners. We've got to
00:11go, go, go. Bye, guys. Bye. All right, Brian. All right, all right, Michelle. All right, Toby,
00:18we're going to Jersey. I only vaguely remember the direction. All right, so here's what's going
00:25on. We're in the small town of Charlottesville-Mézier, France, because it's the approximate
00:30midpoint between our three end locations. Based on random selection, Toby and I are trying to get
00:35here to the British island of Jersey. Ben and Brian are trying to get here to the German island of
00:39Barcum. And Adam and Michelle are trying to get here to Zermatt, Switzerland. Right now, Toby and
00:44I are the runners, which means we're going to try to make progress towards our end location. We can
00:49spend coins to take forms of transit, but to earn more coins, we'll need to do challenges. If we
00:54make it all the way to our end location, we win the game immediately. The trouble is the other
00:59teams are the chasers, who will have a tracker on us at all times and will work tirelessly to hunt
01:04us down and tag us. Unlike in our prior seasons, there are now two teams of chasers. They can work
01:10together or not, but whichever one tags the runners first will get to become the new runners and will
01:16start making progress towards their location. If no player reaches their end location in the next 72
01:21hours, then the winner will be determined by whoever's end location is closest to the current
01:26runners at the end of the game, which you can see in these win areas here. Anyway, enough talk. As the
01:31first runners, Toby and I have got a 45-minute head start. And if we want to make the first train out
01:35of here, we've got to move. Here they go. They are hustling. Brian, I'm pretty sure there is a train to
01:46to Champagne-Ardenne at 6.08. 608. Which they could make. Yeah. They're certainly trying to. If they
01:57hustle. Yeah. We know this is theoretically possible, but we need to be quick. We're going to get down to
02:03Champagne-Ardenne. We need to get on the high-speed line. It's all right. We can make it. So as a first
02:11step, we could wait a few minutes to see if Sam and Toby take the 6.08 train. Yeah. They should
02:16be, uh, running right now trying to make the 6.08. I think they can make it, though. We're not that
02:21far. We're not that far, but you do have to move. It's time to lock in, Toby. We're almost there.
02:29I feel like that is probably the train. Champagne-Ardenne-Juvée. Platform one.
02:36We've made it.
02:39Nice job.
02:45All right. We're off. Down to Champagne-Ardenne.
02:54So, Adam and Michelle. There's a kind of interesting thing in this game where, like,
02:59we can work together to trap Sam and Toby in. Right. A pincer movement. We could do that.
03:05But the thing is, it's only the team that actually tags them that gets to go next.
03:09So it's like, we want to work with them for a while, and then we want to betray them.
03:13Let's see if they're open to a little collaboration at the start of the game here.
03:19So, I mean, it's pretty simple from our perspective. There's a train at 7.04 to Riem where we would
03:25transfer and go to Paris. And that's not so far behind this.
03:29No. It's not so bad. We would get there like a half hour behind.
03:32Whoa!
03:33What are you, how are you guys feeling? Are you guys feeling in a collaborative mood?
03:38Oh, my God. Are you flirting with us, guys?
03:42Here's what I'll tell you, Ben. I believe that it's unavoidable that we will have the same opening.
03:48I think we will probably be on the same train out of here.
03:51But once we get to Paris, it's anybody's freaking game.
03:54I think that's fair enough. I think that's fair enough.
03:56Uh, well, folks, I have an update. They've made the 6.08 train.
04:01That's impressive.
04:01That is impressive. They had to hustle.
04:04They had to move for that one.
04:05This is, this does not bode well, sort of, for the entire game.
04:09No.
04:10I didn't think they would be going quite this hard.
04:12Okay. Well, this is good.
04:14Man, we could have had such a nice, relaxing start if we were the, if we were the chasers.
04:19If we were the chasers.
04:20Well, let's go into research mode.
04:22Yeah.
04:22Is there any option other than the clear one, which is just to follow them to Rio?
04:27No, I think, I mean, and I think that almost certainly they're just be lining it to Paris, right?
04:32Yeah.
04:33All right. Well, off to Paris, then.
04:35Do you just hit Buckseeds, then, from here?
04:38Yeah.
04:40Although, I actually think that the train from Ron to Paris is sold out.
04:47Uh-oh.
04:48Our train is sold out?
04:50Is their train sold out, though?
04:52Is their train sold out? I don't know.
04:54Because if their train isn't sold out, then we're in huge trouble.
04:57Yeah.
05:00The train we wanted to take, it might be sold out.
05:04How do you know this?
05:06So, I pulled it up to potentially buy it.
05:09It now shows not available to buy.
05:11Yeah.
05:12Uh, okay.
05:14This is not good.
05:16I don't, I don't like this, Toby.
05:17We want to get on the 815, which seems to be sold out.
05:21Well, I'm seeing if that's the case.
05:23Fully booked.
05:26Brian, get a ticket on this train.
05:29Okay.
05:30Michelle, we need to get a ticket on the 845 right now.
05:33If you can get it before Adam and Michelle, it wouldn't hurt.
05:37What will you do for me?
05:38Because I'm going to be slow.
05:39Bad request.
05:40What is happening?
05:41Why is this not working?
05:43Check out.
05:44Oh, f*** this.
05:46Ugh!
05:48Thankfully, we're both dealing with the same loading screen.
05:51Come on.
05:51Come on.
05:52Come on, baby.
05:54Errors occurred.
05:55Wait, wait, wait.
05:57I feel lost already.
05:58Look, I can't even log in.
05:59My hands are so...
06:00Oh, no, I got it.
06:01I got it.
06:01You got it?
06:02I got ours.
06:02I got ours.
06:03I have our tickets.
06:05Sugar.
06:06Hold on.
06:06I'm doing it on the other website.
06:07Oh, my God.
06:08Bless you, Adam.
06:09All right.
06:10We, at a minimum, Michelle and I will be in Paris.
06:13Oh, f***.
06:14An hour behind them.
06:15We'll see about you guys.
06:17All right, everybody.
06:18It is 645.
06:19Ryan, what's your birthday?
06:20No, hold on.
06:21Hold on.
06:21Hold on.
06:23We're still trying to...
06:23We are free.
06:24It's time to go.
06:26How's it going, fellas?
06:27We're gonna get it.
06:35We'll find a way.
06:37I'm looking at options now.
06:39We don't need to go to Paris.
06:41In fact, that's perfectly fine.
06:43Yeah.
06:44And actually, it's just gone 645, so you know what that means.
06:49Oh, they're free to go.
06:51Release the hounds.
06:52There's more hounds this season.
06:54There's just four hounds coming for us.
06:58Stressful.
06:58Hopefully, they're just small chihuahuas.
07:01They're nothing threatening.
07:03This f***ing website f***ing sun.
07:05How's it going, boys?
07:06Great.
07:07I think we just figured out a way to get you.
07:11I hate websites.
07:14There should be no websites.
07:18Websites should not exist.
07:19Well, folks, welcome to Charleville-Messier Station.
07:24Are you ready to go to Rome?
07:26Uh, not quite.
07:28Let's try, Michelle.
07:30All right, Michelle.
07:30We have a track number.
07:32We should go ahead.
07:34They, I guess...
07:35How's it going over here, guys?
07:36Oh, wait.
07:37F***.
07:37How do we...
07:38Who designed the S?
07:40Let's go to track for him, shall we?
07:42No, it's not going to let us do a connection.
07:44It's not sophisticated enough.
07:46So do we...
07:47We don't need to book...
07:48No, we can...
07:49To get onto this one.
07:50No, yeah, we can get on this train.
07:51Once we get to Ra, we don't have another ticket,
07:54and we've got to ask when we get there.
07:56Otherwise, we're stuck.
08:00Oh, this is not our finest start.
08:03Here's our train.
08:05Hey.
08:07Choo-choo.
08:08Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun.
08:10So our objective on this train is to continue trying to get 18 a.m.
08:15Sam and Toby, we're coming for you, kind of.
08:23Mostly.
08:24Mostly.
08:25Coming in your general direction, at least.
08:27Okay.
08:28Here's the situation, camera.
08:30Toby and I, we had some perfect plans coming together.
08:35There was a perfectly timed train from Champagne-Ardon to Paris Charles de Gaulle.
08:41The train appears to be sold out.
08:43It's the same situation with our other high-speed train to Paris,
08:46which is from Haas, the downtown station, which is nearby Champagne-Ardon.
08:50I think we need to formulate a plan of what to do if that high-speed train is not available,
08:55which I really don't like, because that means that they might catch up to us east of Paris.
09:01It's worth taking a moment to go over some of the basic tag strategy.
09:05With Jersey as our endpoint, we're mostly working with the French Rail Network.
09:09Its high-speed trains are great, but they basically all run through Paris,
09:12which functionally makes it a big choke point.
09:15While there certainly are slower speed routes west that go around Paris,
09:19the challenge is that these almost certainly allow the chasers to get in front of us,
09:23and it's a lot easier to make the catch when you're between the runner and their endpoints,
09:27since they'll move towards you.
09:28So we'd really like to get past Paris as quickly as possible,
09:31and then slow down to do challenges and make evasive maneuvers.
09:34But with the only trains in the window before they'll catch up to us sold out,
09:38we're not sure that's going to be possible.
09:40But maybe we just string together low-speed trains and just kind of, you know,
09:46kind of incremental progress kind of deal.
09:48Yeah.
09:49I don't know.
09:50I mean, we don't have another option, seemingly.
09:52Here's the thing, Toby, is yesterday was a holiday.
09:55Today's Tuesday.
09:55Yesterday was Monday, but it's a holiday.
09:57So this is the morning commute hours after a holiday weekend going into Paris.
10:04I'm not surprised the trains are full.
10:08But that puts us in a really tricky situation.
10:11Yeah.
10:13But it's all we can do.
10:16Is it working?
10:19Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.
10:21It's going to make you do a confirmation thing.
10:24Oh, Adela says this.
10:25Wait, wait.
10:28We have booked a ticket on the 815 to Paris.
10:30We're being buried.
10:31Edmund and Brian have no idea.
10:34Got it.
10:36815?
10:37Let's f***ing go, Brian.
10:38Let's go.
10:39Yeah, got two of them.
10:40Brian, you're brilliant.
10:43We did manage to get tickets on the 815.
10:45Well, I have news for you guys, which is that we also have gotten tickets on the 815.
10:47Yeah, we know.
10:48I know that you guys thought you were being very sneaky, but you are sitting right next to us.
10:52Yeah, that is in many ways, Joe.
10:53Can we get to spend more time together?
10:55Yay!
10:56All right.
10:58Well, folks, Sam and Toby should just now be arriving in Rome.
11:05Oh, there they are.
11:06All right, Toby, where are we?
11:15I can't say it.
11:16You can say it.
11:16For fear of being in trouble.
11:18See the town, Toby.
11:19I said, is it illegal to call it reams?
11:22It's us.
11:24All right.
11:25Quickly.
11:26Let's see if we can go on that high-speed train.
11:28Give me a ticket machine, ticket machine, ticket machine.
11:30Okay.
11:31I can take it.
11:32It is available.
11:34Do we take that?
11:35We take that.
11:36Okay, if it's available.
11:37That surprises us.
11:40It's almost too good to be true, so we might as well take it.
11:43We'll have enough time to...
11:44We'll have 45 minutes.
11:45So much premature discussion going on.
11:58All right.
11:59Well...
12:00Never mind.
12:01I guess we're going to take it the long way to Jersey.
12:04No, we actually already cooked up something, so let's see what we've got.
12:09This is the departure board.
12:11There's options going back up.
12:12We don't want that.
12:13There's options going places that are totally other way.
12:15We don't want that.
12:16But there's an option going a little bit around Paris, like, in the right direction.
12:23It's going west.
12:24It's just slow.
12:25I mean, the problem with this route is we know they're going to be able to get physically in front of us
12:29because they have access...
12:31You know, they're going to be able to take a later high-speed train.
12:33So we'll be safe for a little while, but we've got to figure out something clever for later.
12:38That's the train we want to go on.
12:42There's no room for us.
12:44I mean, annoyingly, there does look like there's a lot of room.
12:48There's not a soul on there, but there's also no room for us.
12:51Anyways, let's go to Leon.
12:55I'm realizing it takes longer to say this this season.
12:58This will definitely confuse Ben and Brian and Michelle and Adam.
13:05Is that everyone?
13:06I think that's all.
13:07Yeah, okay.
13:08Let's see if one of them can figure out what we're doing.
13:18We're going.
13:19Not as fast as we expected to, but we're going.
13:21Yeah.
13:22It's at about this moment that Adam's going to go.
13:34Uh-oh.
13:41Guys, I think that they left going...
13:45Yep.
13:47Going north from Rome.
13:49Where are they going?
13:49Let's figure out what train they're on.
13:51Well, look, folks.
13:52They got our asses almost immediately.
13:55They're on the 719 to...
13:57Leon.
13:58Leon.
13:59When is the next train going wherever the f**k it is that they're going?
14:02Leon.
14:05Well, I think I figured out why they did what they did.
14:10There's not another train there for four hours.
14:14Do you think they're just trying to, like...
14:15I don't know what they're trying to do, but we need to figure out how to get there.
14:18So the question is, where are they going after Leon?
14:21Yeah.
14:22I mean, they might just be camping there for a while to, like, do challenges.
14:25Do you think they're just...
14:27Dude, I don't know.
14:35Okay, Toby.
14:36Let's figure out our next move once we get to Leon.
14:38Well, what I like about where we're going is that when I check the arrivals board there
14:45from other places, there is none that allows them to trace directly on this path.
14:51I feel like for them to get us at Leon, they need to be coming from Paris, which they could do.
14:58They could go all the way through to Paris and then come up to get us.
15:02I think that's maybe the most likely.
15:05Yeah, I think at least one team is going to do that.
15:08So then should we go to Paris?
15:09I think at least one team should definitely go to Paris.
15:12The question is if multiple teams should go to Paris or if one team has a route where you can chain some weird s*** together.
15:19That's not going to work, that's not going to work, that's not going to work, there's got to be a way that we can get there faster than this.
15:27I think there may not be.
15:31I think that may be the whole point.
15:41I mean, here's another stupid question.
15:47Like, how far could you get on a bike and then try to take a taxi?
15:52These seem to be local.
15:54So yeah, these are probably, you probably can take these out to the middle of the French countryside.
16:00Where do these buses go?
16:01It's a great question.
16:03They seem like very, very local.
16:05I don't think they go anywhere useful, but let's look into it.
16:07All right, well let's get out of the station and I guess play some charades.
16:27Excited to be here.
16:27We're going to do so many challenges.
16:30It's not funny.
16:30All right, it's finally time for some challenges.
16:34In this game, when you're the runner, you have to pay for your transit using coins.
16:38One minute of low-speed rail is 10 coins, one minute of high-speed rail is 25 coins, and so on.
16:43You start with 2,000 coins, but if you want more, you have to pull a challenge from the challenge deck.
16:50If you complete it, you get the reward.
16:51But if you fail or cannot complete the challenge, you enter a veto period and cannot take any form of transit for 30 minutes.
17:00Toby and I actually already pulled a challenge back in Raz, but to avoid the risk of a veto trapping us in Raz, we decided to wait until we got here to attempt it.
17:08And just by the way, challenges are the reason why the chasers are so stressed out about how hard it is to reach us.
17:14We've got quite a lot of time to do challenges and rack up coins before we start to be at risk of getting caught.
17:20Hey, Sam.
17:21Yeah.
17:22Do you think the others should go shopping there?
17:24I think they might want to take a stop by this trophy shop for us.
17:27I mean, it'd be a little insulting if they hadn't got it already, because I don't know what else they would think would happen this season, but...
17:33All right, Toby.
17:35I suppose it's time.
17:37For some charades?
17:39Yes.
17:42Impersonate your foes.
17:43Using charades, get your partner to guess all four opponents in a particular order.
17:47You have as long as you want to plan, but only one minute to do the charades.
17:52If your partner guesses wrong at any point, this card is automatically vetoed.
17:56I'm happy to act it out.
17:57It feels like something a guest should do.
17:59Okay.
18:00I will need to let the audience know the order.
18:02I can just go over here, and you can tell the audience.
18:04Are you going away?
18:04Okay.
18:05So I'll do Michelle, Adam, and Brian.
18:11I'll do them in that order.
18:12Okay.
18:13Okay, it's a bit scary always doing the first challenge, isn't it, of the game?
18:17Three, two, one, go.
18:24Okay.
18:25Okay, this, I think I know.
18:28Yep, yep, yep.
18:29Okay, I've got it.
18:30I've got it.
18:35I think I've got it.
18:37Is there another thing you can do for this person?
18:43I think I've got it.
18:46Let's move on.
18:47Try the process of elimination.
18:53Yeah, okay.
18:55Okay, yeah.
18:56Got it.
18:57Oh, we got 14 seconds.
18:58Got to go, go, go, go, go.
19:01Yep, yep, yep, yep.
19:04Okay, that's time.
19:06First person was Michelle.
19:08Yes.
19:10Second person.
19:13Was Adam.
19:16Yes.
19:18Third person was Ben.
19:19Yes.
19:19Fourth person was Brian.
19:21Let's go.
19:24600 points.
19:25That was good.
19:26You did good.
19:27That was really good.
19:28Well, we have more time.
19:30None of these are, I'm pretty much through the list.
19:33None of these are going to be massively helpful.
19:35Yeah, none of these are going to work.
19:38Okay.
19:39All right.
19:40So guys, everything is fine.
19:42Everything's totally fine.
19:43It's going to be actually awesome.
19:45We're going to get into Paris at 931 into Gare de Leste.
19:49There is a train from Gare de Nord at 933 to Lyon.
19:54Now, I don't really think it's possible to make that two-minute connection,
19:58but I think that we have to try because the next train isn't for another two hours after that.
20:05To go to Lyon specifically.
20:06To go to Lyon where they are.
20:08The train from, our train is in not too long.
20:11We should actually probably go to the platform.
20:13I think they're-
20:14Because in terms of like the delays and stuff, you never know.
20:16Brian, off to Paris.
20:19Woohoo.
20:20Adam, it's going to be awesome.
20:21It's going to be awesome.
20:22It's just like they're going to have so many coins.
20:28If they ever get a second run, we're so screwed.
20:31Where are we going?
20:40So-
20:41White and Paris there.
20:43No, like where's the-
20:44Well, yeah, where's our train?
20:45Yeah, that's what I'm wondering.
20:47Um, I don't know, dog.
20:51Is our train canceled?
20:53There it is.
20:53Where's the 815?
20:54Oh.
20:54That's the 845.
20:56What is going on?
20:57For sure.
20:57What's happening?
20:58Okay, now it says that it's 30 minutes delayed.
21:07Motherf***er.
21:09So do you know what this, uh, castlery looking thing is?
21:12Is it an ice-a-piston?
21:13Cathedral.
21:14Is it very famous?
21:14I don't know.
21:15It's got a good spot.
21:17Your average neighborhood castle?
21:18Yeah.
21:19All right.
21:20Ready?
21:20Yep.
21:23Oh.
21:26Become the French chef again.
21:28Become the French chef again.
21:34Make mayonnaise from scratch by emulsifying any amount of egg in any amount of oil, but
21:39this time, the other team member has to eat a bite of your creation.
21:43Sorry.
21:44Okay.
21:44It's doable, at least.
21:46Seems like there's a grocery store right there, so that should be easy.
21:48Okay, let's go.
21:49So we just need oil and eggs.
21:52Eggs.
21:53Famously on this show, we've seen Ben do this challenge, and he mixed it up in a completely
21:58unsuitable container.
21:59And spilled it everywhere.
22:06Oh, okay.
22:07It spilled out.
22:10Oh, dear.
22:11This is bad.
22:12I actually think if we have a small bottle, you could really shake it up.
22:17Yeah.
22:17And you wouldn't need to be, like, whisking it up, so.
22:22There's the eggs.
22:23Classic.
22:24Unrefrigerated European.
22:25It might be safe.
22:28That's better.
22:29It hatched.
22:30Now I need some oil.
22:31I mean, there's pizza oil.
22:32Pizza oil?
22:32What is pizza oil?
22:34Seems spicy.
22:35Pizza oil.
22:36Do we want to look for, like, a container?
22:37Yeah.
22:37Do you want to get the glass on?
22:39Yeah.
22:39Sure.
22:40All right, Toby, you said you were going to caffeinate to get a vessel.
22:48Who's mayoing and who's tasting?
22:50I'll get you to make it.
22:51So you want to crack the egg, but only put the yolk in there.
22:54Do you know how to do that?
22:55The yolk is the yellow part.
22:58Yellow part.
23:01Mmm.
23:04Oh, there we go.
23:07Now you need to shake the living bejesus out of that now before it gets unmixed.
23:16I think this is how Gordon Ramsay does it.
23:19I reckon that's looking pretty good, Toby.
23:22Oh, nice and thick.
23:26Oh, delightful.
23:29You ready?
23:30You ready to taste?
23:31Do it.
23:39How many chews out of chew?
23:44I think I just got salmonella.
23:45So, the train is 30 minutes to go ahead.
23:59And some sunscreen?
24:01Oh, boy.
24:02I just got to hope that they deal with as much trouble as we do.
24:09Yeah, but they're getting coins.
24:12Yeah, they're getting coins.
24:13It was a rack.
24:14Another one?
24:15On to the next.
24:16All right.
24:17The cards are going to be a bit eggy for the rest of the game.
24:23Eat and import.
24:26Eat and import.
24:28Acquire and eat anything.
24:30Coins are awarded based on how far from you that thing was verifiably produced.
24:34Oh, okay.
24:36We can...
24:36I mean, this is guaranteed coins.
24:38It's just how well can we do this, basically.
24:40We're in the perfect spot for challenges and the perfect spot for not getting caught.
24:45Why is everything going so well?
24:47Don't say that.
24:48That's foreshadowing.
24:49It's not too easy.
24:50We're just here, you know.
24:51We're just chilling.
24:52Don't foreshadow like that, Toby.
24:55Let's freaking do it.
25:00The other part of the train is coming.
25:03The other half of our train is here.
25:06Let's go to Paris, Brian.
25:07Let's go to Paris.
25:08I called you son.
25:10No!
25:11Old Hobbit Skyyard.
25:12No!
25:16Here we go.
25:17We're finally on the way.
25:19It says the word Asian on it.
25:30I checked it.
25:31Oh, you checked it.
25:32This says origin Algeria.
25:33I think this would get us Algeria.
25:35That could be good.
25:37It says made in the EU, so...
25:39Oh, here we go.
25:41Produced in the US.
25:42All this from California.
25:43Okay.
25:44So that's...
25:44Cool.
25:45California is far.
25:47Cool.
25:47This is...
25:48That's better than Algeria, at least.
25:49All right.
25:49That's good.
25:50Okay.
25:51Well, that Paris train is in under 20 minutes now, so let's eat this and then decide whether
25:58we want to take that.
25:59All right.
25:59Hello, camera.
26:00We have found almonds.
26:02Where do you grow almonds, Toby?
26:04The sunny coast of...
26:05California.
26:09You know what it tastes like?
26:12Home.
26:12No victory.
26:13No victory.
26:15All right.
26:16Let's see how far California is.
26:17525 points.
26:19Cool.
26:19Not bad.
26:20Yep.
26:20Not bad at all.
26:21And that'll bring us up to 3,065.
26:253,000.
26:26We've broken the threes.
26:28Shall we look at train options?
26:31All right.
26:31Okay.
26:38Okay.
26:38Well...
26:38Hey.
26:39We're finally moving.
26:41That's so good.
26:42It's really good.
26:43And our train only left...
26:45An hour.
26:46An hour after it was supposed to.
26:48So barely late at all.
26:51Here's the deal.
26:52Sam and Toby still at Leon.
26:55However, they do appear to be in the train station.
26:58They are at the train station.
26:59And if they are at the train station, then hopefully that means that they are about to
27:04get on a train to Paris.
27:06Toby...
27:07Toby's on a line now.
27:08Toby looks like she is on the tracks.
27:12They're back at the station.
27:13Yeah.
27:14Their next train is back to Paris.
27:18So I think that there's a pretty good chance that they go back to Paris.
27:21And we'll see in, like, 20 minutes if that's what they do.
27:25Hopefully.
27:26Cross your fingers.
27:27So I think we basically have to decide between these two trains.
27:30That one leaves in about 15 minutes.
27:32This one leaves in about 40 minutes.
27:3440?
27:35Yeah.
27:35On the one hand, this doesn't get us to somewhere that is much better than where we are now.
27:40Like, I think we're going to strike out with options in Terre Haie-Nir.
27:43Yeah.
27:43However, the thing about the Paris option is, I think one of them...
27:48at least one of the teams, they're in Paris right now, or at least very near Paris.
27:53Yeah.
27:54And...
27:54They'll see us coming.
27:56They'll be parked up at Paris Nord waiting.
27:58Yeah.
27:59So if we did that one, we would have time to pull another challenge, maybe?
28:03Give them points.
28:03Why are we not using the double-up on some of those challenges at the go-to-con?
28:06We could use it now.
28:07Yeah, I think we should use it now.
28:09All right, you want to use the double-up power-up?
28:11Yeah, I do.
28:11At least we get a power-up used.
28:12Okay.
28:12All right.
28:14Roll the graphic.
28:15I don't know if there's a graphic.
28:16Is there a graphic?
28:17Hopefully there's a graphic.
28:19Should I pull?
28:19Yep.
28:20What?
28:35Pissed.
28:38Cursed.
28:39Before you draw another card, you must travel at least 25 miles further from your destination
28:43as the crow flies than you are right now.
28:47But.
28:47But.
28:48Hey, hey, that's quite a lot of coins.
28:54Oh.
28:56Mmm.
28:58Mmm.
28:59Um, so this actually seems like we don't have to do anything here now.
29:05We just, we just simply don't do anything.
29:09Do we not do anything?
29:11Or do we go 25 miles further?
29:13I mean, Terznyer is not going to do us anything.
29:15Perigard de Nord is not going to do us anything.
29:17I don't know if we're getting 25 miles away before they would catch us.
29:20So, here's Toby and Mai's dilemma.
29:23While this curse gives us a lot of coins, it also pretty much traps us here.
29:27This is the departure board from Léon.
29:30There are trains to Terznyer and Amiens, both of which are closer to our end location.
29:34And there are trains to Paris, which is about the same distance from our end location,
29:38and where we're pretty sure at least some of the chasers will be waiting for us.
29:41The next train that would take us away from our end location, allowing us to clear the curse,
29:46isn't until 1.42 p.m., four hours from now.
29:51So, Toby and I figure that, at least for the time being, we're pretty much stuck here.
29:55Sounds like 25 miles is pretty far.
29:57Are we allowed to stay here until 12.35?
30:00Well, I don't think we have another option.
30:02Honestly, Toby, it might be time to go look at the big church on the hill.
30:07Castle.
30:07Castle.
30:07Castle.
30:08Castle.
30:08Castle.
30:10All right, Michelle, it's time for their train to leave.
30:17Do you think that they're on it?
30:18I can't tell.
30:19They're hovering on...
30:21Oh.
30:22Oh.
30:22They move?
30:23Some movement.
30:24No, I don't see.
30:25Yeah, that's still...
30:26Their bubbles just, like, popped an inch down.
30:29Their locations are old for me.
30:31Yeah, it seems like they're there.
30:33Yeah, they're still there.
30:36Why?
30:37I'm just hanging out at the station.
30:40I don't know why.
30:42Like...
30:43I don't know why, dude.
30:45Brian.
30:46It looks like their train would have left, like, three minutes ago.
30:50Yeah.
30:51Yeah.
30:52Yeah.
30:52That's a good idea.
30:53Yeah.
30:54Yeah.
30:55Yeah.
30:56So, they're probably going to a tourney then.
31:00I think they're...
31:01Okay, we're going to have to go to tourney A.
31:05I think, somewhat hilariously, I think they're...
31:10They almost certainly do not think that we will just have stayed here.
31:16Yeah.
31:16And we wouldn't have stayed here if not for pulling that double up first.
31:22I think it's the chaotic option is to stay here because we've already been here so long.
31:27Right.
31:27So, they're probably going to...
31:28They probably will have optimized their moves for getting to, like, Terre Jeanne.
31:33Yeah.
31:33Who's game enough to come and get us here?
31:35So, hilariously, I don't know that they'll actually be here that soon.
31:39Yeah, they're, like, going back into town.
31:40Oh.
31:41We'll see, but then I guess, I don't know, maybe they're just waiting for the next train to Paris.
31:46Maybe.
31:47But that's not for a long time.
31:48Oh, man.
31:50What are they up to?
31:53Well, they can't stay there all day.
31:55No, they can't stay there all day, but they can stay there for a while.
31:59And make our life harder.
32:11We might need to have to...
32:16We might be about to run.
32:17Is it a 10.32 or 10.34?
32:20Oh, no.
32:26Guys, the train to Terre Nier leaves in, like, four minutes, I think.
32:29I don't think they're going to go to Terre Nier now.
32:31They skipped that train already.
32:33No, but the one that goes to Amiens goes through Terre Nier.
32:36Okay, if you want to go to Terre Nier to cut them off to Amiens, be my guest.
32:41All right, Michelle, we got to run.
32:43All right, let's go.
32:46Adam is really convinced that they're going to go north.
32:49I think we should stay here in Paris.
32:52I think it's way more likely that they come to Paris.
32:54And if they manage to tag them, we've got options.
32:56I think it's...
33:06I don't see it.
33:09Is it even showing on a departure board?
33:14No, it left.
33:16Yeah, we didn't get it.
33:17Yeah, no.
33:18Okay.
33:20Let's figure out what to do.
33:21Should we tell Ben and Brian?
33:23Don't tell them anything right now.
33:25I think we just sprinted, like, four-tenths of a mile.
33:29They're just still in Leon.
33:31Like, so...
33:34F***ing Leon.
33:35Just kidding.
33:37Shout out to the great people of Leon.
33:47Nice hill.
33:49Yeah, I'm sure glad we're not going up here in a rush.
33:54Toby, what's that?
33:55A cathedral.
33:57Which one?
33:58A beautiful cathedral.
33:59Which one?
34:00I believe it's called Notre Dame.
34:02Notre Dame de Leon.
34:03Look at the gargoyles.
34:06Ooh, those are some good gargoyles.
34:08Are those really gargoyles?
34:11Those are gargoyles.
34:14Nice.
34:16All right, give us the overview.
34:18It's good stonework.
34:18What does everything mean?
34:19Well, that's...
34:20That's JC.
34:21Who are the statues?
34:22That's JC.
34:23Mary, right?
34:24Those are...
34:25Those are the other guys.
34:28There's a train at 11.30 that goes to Leon when you get there at one.
34:33Other than that, there's just kind of nothing.
34:36There's nothing else we can do?
34:38I don't know.
34:39Are we just...
34:40Are we just sitting here and waiting to see what they do?
34:42I think we...
34:46Yeah.
34:47I think we sit here and see what they do.
34:49It's a...
34:49It's a creperie.
34:52Did you know that the snack zone didn't exist when I was on jet lag?
34:55It's true.
34:56It hadn't been invented yet.
34:57Okay.
34:58So what's our plan?
34:59Well, we're here in Paris.
35:03The thing to the matter is, Toby and Sam have stranded themselves in Leon for another hour and a half.
35:09They have two sort of routes out of there.
35:12They could come here to Paris, which is technically their next train in like an hour.
35:18Yeah.
35:19Or...
35:19Pull that up now.
35:20They could go north to Amiens.
35:23I don't...
35:23I don't...
35:23Look.
35:24I don't think they're going to go north.
35:25Of course, they're not going to be here for a while, so...
35:28You get it, Crave.
35:30Okay.
35:31I see.
35:33I see.
35:34You know, we go through there.
35:36Yeah.
35:36It's kind of cool.
35:40I don't think they're finding us in here.
35:43This would...
35:44This would kind of be a pretty good height.
35:45We're in a crevice.
35:50This is nice.
35:51Oh, wow.
35:53Wow.
35:54Well, it's good.
35:55So that if it's raining...
35:56In umbrellas.
35:57It's raining, you're fine.
35:59It's a little creepy that, like, not a single shop is open.
36:04Weird vibes all around, not going to lie.
36:07Yeah.
36:09Okay, I think we need to call them.
36:12Okay.
36:13We did not make the train.
36:15You did not make the train.
36:17Oh, oh dear.
36:18Well, Paris it is.
36:21Well, no.
36:22I think that somebody has to go to Amiens.
36:24Then we need to start looking at options, because we need to force them out of there.
36:26You guys are welcome to go to Amiens.
36:28I think that we like Paris more.
36:30So if I understand you, you are stalemating us.
36:33You're saying you know that somebody needs to go to Amiens, but you're just saying you won't do it.
36:38Oh, I'm just saying that we're going to be in Paris.
36:41That's all I'm saying.
36:42And you guys can do whatever you like.
36:44Okay.
36:45Thanks, Ben.
36:46Okay, bye.
36:49Part of the deal.
36:50Okay, so now a bunch of different stuff happened, but all of it resulting in nobody actually
36:55doing much of anything, so let's speed through it.
36:57Adam and Michelle almost did take the train up to Amiens, but backed out once it became
37:02clear Toby and I weren't heading there.
37:04This feels wrong for some reason.
37:07It feels wrong because they're not getting on the train.
37:10God damn it.
37:12Oh, God.
37:12We are so indecisive.
37:15And at this point, the teams basically entered a stalemate.
37:18Toby and I had no incentive to move because the train to Arras, the only train that would
37:22let us clear our curse, still wasn't for hours.
37:25And the only places we could go sooner would make it harder to clear the curse and or easier
37:29to get caught.
37:30The thing is, the chasers didn't know about our curse, so they kept waiting and expecting
37:35us to move.
37:36And until we did, they were staying put.
37:38That's because the train from Paris to Lyon is slow, taking about two hours, so they figured
37:43if they got on it, by the time they arrived, we would have left and they'd just be stuck
37:47in Lyon.
37:48Paris is a much more flexible hub, plus most of our best options went through Paris,
37:52so they didn't want to leave and commit to anything until we did.
37:55So both sides waited and waited and waited, continually baffled that the other teams weren't
38:02moving.
38:03They're still in Lyon.
38:05What are they doing in Lyon?
38:08Move.
38:09Do something.
38:12I see trying.
38:13There it is.
38:14What do you think?
38:14Are they on it?
38:16Surely one of them.
38:17Surely one of them need it.
38:19No more people coming out.
38:21What else can they be doing?
38:23After literal hours of this, the chasers came to the conclusion that they had no choice.
38:28Somebody needed to come after us.
38:30This f***ing sucks.
38:35Okay.
38:36If we want to go to Lyon, which we can, the next train is at 1223.
38:42If they wanted to go to Amiens, they would have gone to Amiens.
38:46No.
38:46If they wanted to go to Paris, they would have gone to Paris.
38:49They are indicating in every possible way that they don't want to leave.
38:52So I think we just have to go there.
38:55I don't know what they're doing at this point.
38:57Like, they've just been sitting still for, like, an hour now.
39:00And, like, it's easy to criticize them not doing anything, but we're sitting out in the
39:04park too.
39:05Well, that's not true.
39:07You're making a beautiful daisy thing.
39:08I did it wrong.
39:10Like, I do think, like, it's in her interest now to go north if they're just staying there.
39:14Yeah.
39:15Okay.
39:16We're heading to Garden North, and we're just going to get on the train to Lyon, because
39:19if they are staying there, someone's going to go get them.
39:24We've got to start playing the game too.
39:28All right.
39:29There is that guy.
39:32Who do I am?
39:3321.
39:35I think we've got him.
39:37What the f***?
39:38Oh, it's Adam and Michelle.
39:41So, what's the deal?
39:41Y'all ready to go to Lyon?
39:42Somebody needs to stay back.
39:45At the stay back in Paris?
39:47Somebody needs to stay back in Paris.
39:48Because what if they leave Lyon?
39:51What if?
39:51You can say in Paris if you want.
39:55What if they stay?
39:57What if they go?
39:58What is your plan?
40:01Tag them.
40:03No, let's say we all go to Lyon right now, and then we all miss them.
40:12What happens next?
40:13I'm genuinely asking.
40:14I agree.
40:14It would be great if somebody stayed back.
40:17We could flip a coin.
40:19We could.
40:21Look, maybe they're just going to sit there forever.
40:24I don't know.
40:27This train is scheduled to leave right now.
40:30I'll flip a coin.
40:31Fine.
40:32Let's flip a coin.
40:33Let's talk to me.
40:33Uh, yeah, heads.
40:38Tails.
40:39All right.
40:39What do you want to do?
40:41I think we want to be on this train.
40:43All right.
40:51What do we do?
40:52For right now, we have to wait.
40:54Bye, Michelle.
40:59That was fine.
41:01That was so weird.
41:03That sucked.
41:05That conversation sucked.
41:06Yeah.
41:07That was really tough.
41:08Well, hopefully we are right about what Sam and Toby are doing, and we will get the tag.
41:13Because if we're wrong, then we're going to a stupid little town, and they are going to get them in the wheel.
41:20Yeah.
41:20Okay, Michelle, now we have to figure out what to do.
41:29Let's go find somewhere nice to sit, because I think we're going to be in Paris for a bit.
41:33So we just have to keep a close eye on Sam and Toby over the next, like, 20 minutes, because if they do get on this line, we have to make sure that we intercept them before they get back here to Paris, where Adam and Michelle will also be waiting for them.
41:48Because if they get past us, then Adam and Michelle will get to the tag.
41:51Yeah, they're still, it looks like they're still on the corner.
42:01All right.
42:01Hello.
42:02Since the others have spent so long to get here, Toby and I...
42:08A new plan has crystallized.
42:10I think it's diabolical.
42:12We thought we were cooked, but actually we were cooking.
42:15We thought we were just waiting for them to catch us, but now we realize that we're waiting to catch them.
42:20It's taken so long that we might have a route out of here.
42:23Yeah.
42:24So we think that they could arrive at 12.56, and we'll see them.
42:31Hopefully.
42:32We're going to use a power-up where we can freeze them for 45 minutes.
42:39But only one of them.
42:40So we have to spot them and identify which team it is to play it properly.
42:45And this power-up takes five minutes to come into effect.
42:49So that you can't just play it as they're about to tag you.
42:51Yeah.
42:52Okay.
42:52So we'll, but we'll see them from here, and they won't get up here in five minutes.
42:56So we'll have time for that to take effect.
42:58So we go scurry off so that they can't catch us.
43:02In that five minutes.
43:03In that five minutes.
43:04And then...
43:05We scurry past them and catch the train at 1.42 to Hans.
43:14And that's in the direction that we like.
43:17Yeah.
43:17That we want to be up here.
43:18It's not far enough that we can start doing challenges yet.
43:22However, Hans is a much bigger station.
43:25You know, we were there this morning.
43:26I think we'll be able to find another train easily.
43:30So, and I really doubt they've positioned themselves in grass.
43:34As a caveat, if they both arrive, both teams...
43:38We're toasted.
43:39Yeah.
43:39Both teams arriving, very bad.
43:41One team arriving, very funny.
43:43Zero teams arriving?
43:46We're still playing?
43:48It's taking a while.
43:50Yeah, there's still...
43:51It looks like they're still on the corner.
43:54Still chilling out.
43:55Then the question is, are our approach paths?
43:57I have a feeling they have an eyeline down that street.
44:01And that's why they're staying there.
44:02So I think we kind of need to...
44:04If there's bikes or something.
44:06At the station.
44:07That we grab one of the bikes and go around.
44:09Do you think they're gonna...
44:10But it's like, surely...
44:13Surely...
44:13If they're still there when we're...
44:15When we get there.
44:17They're not trying to, like...
44:19Avoid getting caught.
44:21Yeah.
44:23I don't know.
44:23I'm just trying to think through all the possibilities.
44:26I mean, I guess maybe there's some move where they, like...
44:29See us and manage to get the freeze on us within five minutes.
44:33And then, like, juke us and get out of there.
44:35Yeah.
44:35With a bag.
44:36I guess we just don't...
44:39We don't want them to see us...
44:41Yeah.
44:42...before we get them.
44:44Yeah.
44:45Okay.
44:46We'll be sneaky.
44:56There's the train from Paris.
44:58Our offer.
44:59Surely.
44:59Yes.
45:00Surely.
45:01Surely this is the one.
45:03Okay.
45:03I see a first person coming up the bridge.
45:07See one person.
45:07Oh, I see a backpack.
45:09I see a backpack.
45:09That could be one of them.
45:11But they're solo.
45:12It's only on your own and they're just walking.
45:14Yeah, it doesn't look right.
45:15The entire doesn't look right.
45:17Because there's a tunnel that went to, like...
45:18There's a few coming out the door.
45:20One, two, three, four.
45:21None of them are in.
45:23None of those people were in?
45:25Definitely not.
45:28Where could they possibly be?
45:30Okay.
45:36Okay, so we...
45:40All right, Brian, where are they?
45:42They're still in the same spot.
45:45Okay.
45:46I mean, I guess that means they're just staying still.
45:48But I also don't know why they would do that.
45:51Well, we've lived to die another day.
45:53What are they...
45:53The next chance is at 1.30.
45:55So in another, like, 15 minutes from now.
45:57Like, how many times have we said that?
45:59I feel like we should at least try to get to Haas
46:02and try to clear this curse.
46:04We can try, yeah.
46:05Yeah.
46:06I think we go to the station.
46:07Okay.
46:08You happy with that plan?
46:09Yeah.
46:09I don't know what they're doing.
46:30I don't know what they're planning.
46:32I don't know if it was a good time ago.
46:33Right.
46:34I don't think they know where they are.
46:36Could be Dr. Slice, we would.
46:37You know, but I mean, they know that a train from Nero is a crime.
46:41I'm going to lose my mind.
46:43This is real 4-bit test.
46:46They are walking towards the train station.
46:49They're walking.
46:51Yeah.
46:51They're headed here.
46:52Okay.
46:53But isn't there a train in, like, one minute?
46:55There's a train in, like, a minute to Amiens.
46:57We have a train.
46:59We're sitting in front of the gate for the train to Amiens.
47:02I don't think they're getting on that train, though.
47:04No.
47:05I think that actually what they are doing
47:06is they are getting on the 142.
47:07They're going back to Rio, where we started today.
47:12Remember there?
47:14Stay vigilant.
47:16I think we might be in the clear, Toby.
47:17Okay.
47:17As long as they didn't get on our train, that went right.
47:19What time does that leave?
47:2042?
47:20I'm going to quickly.
47:21All right.
47:22We're speed running the venting machine.
47:25We're famished after all that time on the hill.
47:27After all that waiting.
47:29Yeah.
47:29The good thing about this is they won't be expecting us to go this direction.
47:34I don't think.
47:35Yeah.
47:35Yeah.
47:35So they will be at least a bit confused.
47:37Yeah.
47:38They're getting on a train.
47:40It's just so crazy for them to leave when someone was finally going to go to where they
47:45are.
47:46Train should be leaving right now, right?
47:48Oh.
47:48Oh.
47:49There they go.
47:49There they go.
47:51Yeah.
47:52Yeah.
47:52I wonder what Ben and Brian are doing right now, realizing this.
47:59Brian.
48:02Brian, I have some news for you, Brian.
48:04Brian, I know.
48:05I know.
48:06I know.
48:07I'm incredibly salty.
48:08They are going around.
48:09They took the last train, last possible train before we got there.
48:15I don't know if that's luck or genius or shithousery or what the f**k it is.
48:25Motherf**k.
48:34All right.
48:34Well, I guess we're going to RAS.
48:38Back to RAS.
48:41I guess let's start researching our move out of there.
48:45Okay, what's our next move, Adam?
48:52Okay, let's figure this out.
48:54What time could they get?
48:56237.
48:57Is there a rival in Ria?
48:59237?
49:01Yeah.
49:01We can get to Champagne-Ardenne at 243.
49:03How close is that to Ria?
49:05It's really close.
49:06We can take a taxi between them.
49:08Okay.
49:08It leaves at 157.
49:10The only thing that could...
49:11We don't have a reservation on it, though.
49:13157?
49:14Okay, yeah.
49:14I think we might be past when you can even book them.
49:18It's too close to a departure.
49:19Okay, we're going to need to go in person in the station.
49:21Okay.
49:22I'm almost certain that this is the right move.
49:24Let's go, Adam.
49:25So we're going to the other...
49:26We need to go to Garda-Leste.
49:27Yeah.
49:28We need to get a move on.
49:29Because we don't have a seat reservation.
49:30Here we go.
49:31We need to go to Garda-Leste.
