00:00One of the most talked about Islamic preachers in Nigeria who have had photographs with people suspected to be terrorists.
00:07Terrorizing villages and communities in the northern part of Nigeria when he visited the suspected terrorists in their camps inside forests on the ground of having peace talk with the armed groups.
00:18Sheikh Ahmed Abu Bakr Mahmoud Goumi has described as a terrorist act the United States, U.S. military action ordered by President Donald Trump that attacked and killed yet to be ascertained total numbers of ISIS-affiliated Lakaroa terrorists in Sokoto State on Christmas Day.
00:36This, the Islamic cleric called on the people in the villages affected by the U.S. missiles strikes on Thursday night to post on social media platforms evidences of damages caused by the U.S. military action.
00:50According to Goumi, it is in line with the teachers of Islam for terrorists to be killed, but, the killing must be done by people with the clean and holy hands,
00:59and, not by another terrorist whose hands are stained with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent children, women, and men just recently,
01:08stressing that, the U.S. involvement in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria will make the country becomes an enemy of its neighbors, a theater of war,
01:18because the involvement will attract the real anti-U.S. forces into the West Africa country, and in a manner that looked like mockery,
01:25Sheikh Goumi said, dropping a few bombs here and there cannot tackle the menace of terror.
01:31They need serious military on the ground, which, if we are serious, we have enough men to do that.
01:37In contrary to Goumi's assertions, the Nigeria government, through the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs,
01:43Yusuf Tugger said it was President Bola Ahmed Tanubu on Thursday that gave the U.S. the approval to carry out the strikes against the terrorists.
01:52But the government statement apparently did not go down well with Omiele Saware, a human rights activist and the founder of Sahara Reporters News Media,
02:02who insisted that, it is evident that the strikes were carried out without the genuine authority or informed consent of the weaklings masquerading as government under Asawar Jubola Ahmed Tanubu,
02:13and in a swift reaction to Omiele Saware, one of the recently nominated and confirmed ambassador-designate, Reno Omakri said,
02:22I am afraid I will have to disagree with Mr. Omiele Saware, and others like him,
02:27who are misinforming the Nigerian public that the recent actions against terrorists are proof that Nigeria lacks sovereignty.
02:34Such views are indicative of a lack of awareness of international relations.
02:37It is also wrong for Mr. Saware to call our government and military weak.
02:43Sheikh Ahmed Abu Bakr Mahmoud Goumi in a statement titled,
02:47The Symbolism of the U.S. Strike.
02:49He shared on his verified Facebook account when he reshared the news link of a post published by CNN on Friday,
02:56said,
02:57Annihilating terrorists is an Islamic obligation.
02:59The Prophet, peace be upon him, wished he annihilated them.
03:04He said,
03:05Should I live till they appear, I would kill them as the killing of the nation of,
03:09Ad.
03:10Al-Bukhari in Muslim.
03:12This said,
03:13It should only be carried out by clean, holy hands,
03:16not by another terrorist whose hands are stained with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent children,
03:22women, and men just recently.
03:25This is the mistake Nigeria has made.
03:27Terrorists don't fight terrorists in truth.
03:30They may only kill innocent people and have ulterior motives behind the drama of fighting, terror.
03:37As a principle, no nation should allow its land to be a theater of war.
03:42And no nation should allow its neighbors to be their enemies.
03:45If Nigeria wants military assistance,
03:48China, Turkey, and Pakistan can do the job effectively.
03:52The U.S. involvement in Nigeria will attract the real anti-U.S.
03:57Forces, making our land the theater of war,
04:01the U.S.'s involvement in Nigeria,
04:03citing coming to,
04:04protect Christians,
04:06will ultimately polarize our nation and infringe on our sovereignty.
04:10Nigeria should halt all military cooperation with the U.S.A.
04:14immediately because of its imperial tendencies worldwide
04:17and seek the help of those neutral countries mentioned.
04:21Nigerians are too educated to be played with.
04:24This is going to be a 2027 campaign discourse.
04:28Meanwhile,
04:29dropping a few bombs here and there cannot tackle the menace of terror.
04:33They need serious military on the ground,
04:35which,
04:36if we are serious,
04:37we have enough men to do that.
04:40We call on all villages affected to upload videos and pictures of any casualties involved.
04:45The attacks are symbolic of a harbinger neo-crusade war against Islam.
04:51Attack on Sokoto,
04:52where 90% are Muslim with no imminent danger of terror,
04:56while the real threat is in Maidaguri and on a Christmas Eve,
04:59with the claim of protecting against Christian genocide,
05:03says a lot.
05:04We believe the terror is manufactured and sustained by the same people claiming to fight it.
05:10A word is enough for the wise.
05:11According to Channel's television,
05:14the Nigeria government said President Bola Tanubu gave the go-ahead for the U.S. strikes against terrorists in the country's northwestern region.
05:23Foreign Affairs Minister,
05:24Youssef Tugger,
05:26said this on Friday,
05:27hours after the U.S. Department of War and President Donald Trump announced the North American nation had conducted strikes against the terrorists.
05:35Now that the U.S. is cooperating,
05:38we would do it jointly,
05:40and we would ensure,
05:41just as the president emphasized yesterday before he gave the go-ahead,
05:45that it must be made clear that it is a joint operation,
05:48and it is not targeting any religion nor simply in the name of one religion or the other,
05:54the minister said on Channel's television Sunrise Daily.
05:57We are a multi-religious country,
05:59and we are working with partners like the U.S. to fight terrorism and safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerians,
06:06the minister said.
06:08Some have viewed the strikes as a violation of the country's territorial integrity,
06:12but Tugger says the federal government would not take any actions that would violate the country's sovereignty.
06:18Omiele Sawari reacted and said,
06:21I have read reports that the United States government launched attacks on Nigerian soil on Christmas Day,
06:28as announced by Donald Trump and the U.S. Secretary of War, Peter Hegseth,
06:32purportedly targeting terrorist groups within Nigeria.
06:36Although the Nigerian government now claims it was aware and describes the operation as a joint effort with vague,
06:43international partners,
06:44it is evident that the strikes were carried out without the genuine authority
06:48or informed consent of the weaklings masquerading as government under Asawadju Bola Ahmed Tanubu.
06:55My position remains unchanged.
06:57Judging by the nature of the confirmed strike on a village in Sokoto,
07:01it is clear that the U.S. president under whose authority this operation occurred
07:05neither understands nor genuinely cares about Nigeria or Nigerians.
07:09It is deeply troubling that Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation,
07:15lacks the capable and sovereign leadership required to protect its people and its territory.
07:20As a result, the country has been reduced to a bystander
07:23while its sovereignty is violated under the direction of U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
07:29I reiterate,
07:30only true, tested, and informed leadership can protect Nigerians.
07:35Not imperiled, jaundiced neoconservatives operating from Washington, D.C.
07:40Reno Omakri in a statement titled,
07:43Addressing Omayele Saware's statements on Nigeria's sovereignty,
07:47said,
07:48I am afraid I will have to disagree with Mr. Omayele Saware,
07:52and others like him,
07:53who are misinforming the Nigerian public that the recent actions against
07:57terrorists are proof that Nigeria lacks sovereignty.
08:00Such views are indicative of a lack of awareness of international relations.
08:06Please fact-check me,
08:07larger and older nations than Nigeria,
08:10which I would not want to mention out of respect for these countries and the governments,
08:14have asked for and received direct international and foreign military assistance,
08:19intervention,
08:20specifically from the United States,
08:22and other countries,
08:23when dealing with terrorists operating within their borders,
08:26especially when those belligerents are mobile and have embedded themselves so close to
08:31innocent civilian populations that it would be difficult to use conventional means against
08:35them without harming law-abiding citizens.
08:39While I would not want to identify these nations,
08:42journalists and interested members of the public can use Google or other AI tools to help reveal them.
08:48It is also wrong for Mr. Saware to call our government and military weak.
08:54For his education,
08:55Mr. Saware may want to know that Nigeria has a better military record than most nations,
09:00and has decisively brought peace and stabilized several countries,
09:04beginning from the Congo in 1960,
09:07to Tanzania in 1964,
09:09to Lebanon in 1978,
09:11and then via Ecomog in the Mano River region,
09:14Liberia,
09:15Sierra Leone,
09:16etc.,
09:17between 1991 and 2006.
09:21Our military has also helped restore democratically elected governments in places like
09:26Sao Tomei and Principe and others.
09:29When Nigeria's armed forces intervened in those nations,
09:33they did not tamper with or in any way weakened the sovereignty of those countries or the governments.
09:38In fact,
09:39we were invited either by the countries themselves,
09:42the United Nations,
09:43or regional bodies.
09:44The Nigerian armed forces have a sterling military record as a dependable fighting unit.
09:51In fact,
09:52due to their superior training,
09:54Nigerian military personnel have served as chiefs of army staff in other nations.
10:00However,
10:01when you are fighting cowardly terrorists that weave in and out of civilian populations,
10:05you need the help of those with precision targeting capabilities.
10:09What Mr.
10:10Soare and others like him may not be aware of is that no single nation has ever defeated terror on its own.
10:17It takes international effort.
10:19Mr.
10:19Soare has himself admitted receiving funding from multiple US funding agencies.
10:25Based on his admission,
10:27should that mean he is a foreign puppet,
10:29and fit to aspire to leadership in Nigeria?
10:31Of course not.
10:33If Omiyele Soare and others like him have anger over what has happened,
10:38please let it be directed at the terrorists and their sponsors,
10:41who have killed many Nigerians of all faiths and ethnicities and disrupted communities,
10:46while preventing honest and hard-working Nigerians from going about their lawful activities.
10:51Projecting anger at anything that will bring relief and succor to those Nigerians most affected by terror is not patriotic,
10:59no matter how much some try to cloak it in such terms.
11:03The priority is to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians by any legal and moral means necessary and possible.
11:11If, indeed, people have any influence at all,
11:14that sway should not be used to cause dissension and turn some Nigerians against their leaders.
11:19Rather, it should be used to get those terrorists to turn a new leaf,
11:24drop their weapons, embrace peace, and show fidelity to the Nigerian flag and constitution.
11:31May God bless Nigeria.
11:34Ossas who are on level, bringing you the news in a more digital way.
11:39While many Nigerians were asleep after the 2025 Christmas celebration,
11:43the United States, U.S. warship moved close and took position in the territorial Africa waters,
11:50then launched missiles at the dead of the night on Thursday into areas predominantly dominated by the Lakorowa terrorists
11:57in the Nigeria northwestern state of Sokoto,
12:01with President Donald Trump saying many of the terrorists were killed.
12:04But, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria,
12:07ISIS in the West Africa province is yet to issue a statement over the airstrikes on the Lakorowa camps in Sokoto,
12:14the armed group that is affiliated with the Islamic State Sahil province operating in Mali,
12:20Nijay, and the Nigeria Kebi in Sokoto states
12:23whose activities are mostly observed in five local government areas of Tangasa,
12:29Gudu, Alayla, Binji, and Salame in Sokoto state.
12:33This, some residents at Jabo village in the Tambul local government area of Sokoto state posted videos online
12:40to indicate that some components used in making the missiles fell on a farmland in the Jabo village,
12:47the videos showed a lot of the villages,
12:49mostly younger ones holding phones with touchlight on,
12:52recording the scene of the burning parts of one of the missiles in the farmland,
12:56while some took a closer camera angle shot of some of the components that have manufacturing inscriptions dates and brand labels.
13:05The U.S. Africa Command in a statement a few hours ago,
13:09said,
13:09at the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War,
13:14and in coordination with Nigerian authorities,
13:17U.S. Africa Command conducted strikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria on December 25, 2025,
13:24in Sokoto state.
13:26President Donald Trump while announcing the military action through his Truth social media platform on Thursday night,
13:33said,
13:34Tonight,
13:35at my direction as Commander-in-Chief,
13:37the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorist scum in northwest Nigeria,
13:44who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians,
13:48at levels not seen for many years,
13:51and even centuries.
13:52I have previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians,
13:58there would be hell to pay,
14:00and tonight,
14:01there was.
14:02The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes,
14:06as only the United States is capable of doing.
14:09Under my leadership,
14:10our country will not allow radical Islamic terrorism to prosper.
14:14May God bless our military,
14:17and Merry Christmas to all,
14:18including the dead terrorists,
14:20of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.
14:24Peter Hegseth,
14:25the U.S. Secretary of War,
14:27reiterated the U.S. President announcement in a tweet,
14:31saying,
14:31The President was clear last month,
14:33the killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria,
14:36and elsewhere,
14:37must end.
14:38The Department of War is always ready,
14:41so ISIS found out tonight,
14:43on Christmas.
14:44More to come.
14:46Grateful for Nigerian government support and cooperation.
14:49Merry Christmas.
14:50On November 25, 2025,
14:54Peter Hegseth had said,
14:55Yes sir.
14:57The killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria,
14:59and anywhere,
15:01must end immediately.
15:02The Department of War is preparing for action,
15:05Either the Nigerian government protects Christians,
15:09or we will kill the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.
15:14Bulama Bakati,
15:15a lawyer and social commentator tweeted in reaction that,
15:19I'm pleased to see that President Trump appears to have listened to our concerns back in November
15:23and worked with the Nigerian government rather than acting unilaterally.
15:28The U.S. airstrikes reportedly took place in Sokato state,
15:32suggesting they targeted the Lakarama group,
15:34which has become increasingly lethal.
15:37Strikes against the group are a welcome development,
15:40as they can help degrade its leadership and logistical capacity.
15:44This is,
15:45especially positive given that the operation was carried out with the consent and cooperation of the Nigerian government.
15:51We had reported in early November 2025 that President Donald Trump of the United States of America has placed U.S. soldiers on red alert for possible war in Nigeria.
16:03According to President Trump,
16:04the U.S. Department of War should prepare U.S. troops for possible military action in Nigeria if the Nigerian government continued to allow the killing of Christians.
16:14The U.S. troops may very well go into that now disgraced country, guns a-blazing, to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.
16:25This, President Trump issued on Saturday evening in line with Greenwich Meridian Time after President Bola Ahmed Tanubu personally signed a statement rejecting Trump earlier claim on Friday that Christians are being targeted and killed in Nigeria.
16:41Although President Bola Ahmed Tanubu disagreed with Trump who had described the high level of insecurity in Nigeria as a religious war by Islamic terrorists against Christians,
16:53but, some Nigerians quickly took to the comment section of President Bola Ahmed Tanubu post on X social media platform,
17:01and pasted a screenshot of a tweet published by President Bola Ahmed Tanubu on January 29, 2014,
17:09wherein, President Bola Ahmed Tanubu apparently had long accepted and agreed that the insecurity in Nigeria is possibly a religious war against Christians in the West Africa country,
17:22verbatim, in the tweet, Tanubu said,
17:25The slaughtering of Christian worshippers is strongly condemnable,
17:28it calls to question the competence of Jonathan, then President of Nigeria, to protect Nigerians.
17:34This old statement by President Bola Ahmed Tanubu indicated that President Donald Trump of the United States of America may not be the first person to describe the insecurity in Nigeria as a religious war against Christian communities in the West Africa country.
17:49In an effort to challenge and prove wrong the statement of Harrison Gwamnishu,
18:01a well-known civilian volunteer assisting Nigeria security operatives with intelligence information that has led to the arrest and killing of suspected kidnappers in gun battle,
18:11that, he, Harrison Gwamnishu was never arrested or charged to court by the Nigeria police force over the 5.4 million nairas he allegedly removed from the 20 million nairas ransom he was contracted to hand over to the kidnappers
18:27for the release and rescue of the release and rescue of the married couple kidnapped in Avili community in the Etsuko West local government area of Edo State in late November 2025.
18:39A leading Nigeria social media influencer and human rights activist,
18:44Martins Vincent Otz aka Varid Arkman on Tuesday night took to his social media pages and presented an apparent questionable court document,
18:52probably with malicious intent to manipulate and mislead unsuspecting members of the public in order to malign the character of Harrison Gwamnishu,
19:01this, in the court document presented by Varid Arkman,
19:04the alleged charge serial numbers were covered with a colored ink.
19:08No date of court sitting was written on the court document,
19:11the document indicated that the alleged three count charges were drafted and signed on the 18th of December 2025,
19:18a day before Harrison Gwamnishu was asked to go home from the police custody on December 19, 2025,
19:26while awaiting the advice of the Department of Public Prosecutor, DPP on the matter,
19:32and the apparent fraudulent court document did not show the officer or the person responsible for the court count charges,
19:39and Varid Arkman apparently in a manipulative manner did not show the full signature
19:43and any name of the officer who authored the alleged court charges.
19:48Varid Arkman claimed in the video that the prosecutor wanted Harrison Gwamnishu jailed for six months
19:53but the judge he identified as Justice Etinoza Adekombe allegedly on her personal consideration,
20:00because of the Christmas and New Year season and public intervention decided to grant Harrison Gwamnishu bail.
20:06Harrison Gwamnishu says he was never arrested by the police or charged to court as speculated
20:11in the public spaces over the 5.4 million nairas he allegedly removed
20:16out of the 20 million nairas ransom he was given to hand over to kidnappers
20:20and as well apparently used the money as a bait to stage sting operation
20:25for the release and rescue of the husband and wife
20:27simply identified as Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim kidnapped in Avili community
20:32in the Etsuko West local government area of Edo State,
20:36which generated public reactions after the kidnappers set free the wife
20:40and kept the husband in captivity on the ground that the money given to them was not complete.
20:45And some persons who have access to the apparent sensitive security information
20:50went public to create an impression as if Harrison Gwamnishu stole part of the ransom money,
20:56even when Harrison Gwamnishu explained to them that it is part of his operational procedures
21:01to remove some cash from the ransom money.
21:03His explanation apparently went on deaf ears.
21:07And people who may be best described as mischief makers took advantage of the issue
21:11to call Harrison Gwamnishu names and reopen his alleged past deeds in a prejudiced manner
21:17to cast aspersions on him even when they knew that Harrison Gwamnishu has a long history
21:22with video evidences of assisting security operatives to rescue kidnapped victims
21:27and in some cases, the total money paid as ransom were recovered and returned to the victims' families
21:32and the sting operation usually leads to the killing and arrest of the suspected kidnappers.
21:38This, according to Harrison Gwamnishu in a statement he issued through his verified Facebook account
21:43some hours ago, he was the one who personally submitted himself voluntarily
21:47to the Edo State Command of the Nigeria.
21:51Police forced to enable the police investigate his action that he never had the intention of stealing
21:56the money and his action of removing some money from the ransom was part of his usual
22:01operational procedures.
22:03Adding that, the police never charged him to court and while in self-detention with the police,
22:08he became the cell president and he facilitated the release of four persons who were probably
22:13arrested and detained by the police unjustly for a crime the beneficiaries may know nothing about.
22:19And a video posted online by Harrison Gwamnishu on Monday night, showed he arrived home to the
22:25waiting hands of his elderly mother who was seen in the video singing, dancing with other family
22:30members, friends and well-wishers and screaming loud with joy, while using one of her hands to
22:36caress the chest of her son, Harrison Gwamnishu during which she said a lot of prayers in her local
22:42dialect. We had reported that the Nigeria police force under the leadership of IGP Kar Yode Egbetokan
22:49has kept months since reports indicated that the U.S. trained private intelligent officer,
22:54Harrison Gwamnishu who was invited to facilitate the rescue of a married couple, husband and wife
23:01simply identified as Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim that was kidnapped since late November at their home
23:07in Avil community, a village near Ouchi Polytechnic in the Etsuko West local government area of Edo State
23:14has been arrested and remanded to prison by a court sitting in Benin City, the Edo State
23:19Capitol over allegations that the private intelligent officer, Harrison Gwamnishu underpaid the ransom
23:25money given to him to give to the kidnappers to rescue the married couple in captivity. The reports
23:31of Harrison Gwamnishu's arrest and subsequent remand to prison custody became widespread after a popular
23:37Nigeria social media activist, Vincent Martin Zotz in a video statement on Friday morning alleged that
23:44he has facilitated the arrest of the private intelligent officer, Harrison Gwamnishu for
23:49allegedly removing 5.4 million nairas from the total amount given to him by the victim's family to help
23:56pay as ransom to the kidnappers. This occurred, after the, sting operations, Gwamnishu had prepared the
24:02ransom money for, was probably aborted after a man, whose real names may be Oshurinhe Jopasekeme leaked,
24:10revealed and exposed the plan's sensitive security information online, according to the suspect who
24:16leaked out the sensitive security operational plans of Gwamnishu, Harrison Gwamnishu never told the family
24:22he was going to remove some money from the ransom, that the kidnappers said the money was not complete
24:28hence only the wife was released. The man still held in captivity due to the incomplete ransom payment.
24:34The suspect, Oshurinhe Jopasekeme in a video recorded statement stated that he was the one
24:40that helped facilitate the service of Harrison Gwamnishu when the family of the kidnapped victims
24:46requested for it. The action of the suspect may have prompted Harrison Gwamnishu to abort the
24:51sting operations, obviously for the safety of his personal life and the lives of Nigeria
24:57soldiers and other security operatives he does use to execute and complete his sting operations
25:03against kidnappers which often leads to the killing of the kidnappers and recovering of the total ransom
25:09paid, for the purpose of clarity, sting operations, is a deceptive practice and undercover tactics used
25:15by journalist or intelligent officer or security operative to get closer to a suspected criminal
25:21or criminals in order to be more familiar with the criminals and the environment they operate,
25:27and the deceptive practice may include the journalist or intelligent officer or security
25:31operative pretending to give ransom money to kidnappers in a manner that can cause a delay
25:36and proper assessment of the environment before the security troops may launch offensive attack
25:42against the criminals. The action of Oshurinhe Jopasekeme of leaking out sensitive security information
25:48may be of interest why Nigeria soldiers and other security operatives are being killed in large numbers
25:53whenever in previous and recent years the Nigeria security troops are on rescue missions including
25:59the recent mass killing of soldiers along with Brigadier General Uba Musa and civilian JTF members
26:05at Wajirako village in Borno state by criminals
26:09the

35:19harrison guamneshu says he was never arrested by the police or charged to court as speculated in the
35:24public spaces over the 5.4 million nairas he allegedly removed out of the 20 million nairas
35:30ransom he was given to hand over to kidnappers and as well apparently used the money as a bait
35:35to stage sting operation for the release and rescue of the husband and wife simply identified
35:41as mr and mrs ibrahim kidnapped in avili community in the etsaco west local government area of edo state
35:48which generated public reactions after the kidnappers set free the wife and kept the husband in captivity
35:54on the ground that the money given to them was not complete and some persons who have access to the
36:00apparent sensitive security information went public to create an impression as if harrison guamneshu stole
36:06part of the ransom money even when harrison guamneshu explained to them that it is part of his
36:12operational procedures to remove some cash from the ransom money his explanation apparently went on
36:18deaf ears and people who may be best described as mischief makers took advantage of the issue to call
36:24harrison guamneshu names and reopen his alleged past deeds in a prejudiced manner to cast aspersions on him
36:31even when they knew that harrison guamneshu has a long history with video evidences of assisting
36:36security operatives to rescue kidnapped victims and in some cases the total money paid as ransom
36:42are recovered and returned to the victims families and the sting operation usually leads to the killing
36:48and arrest of the suspected kidnappers this according to harrison guamneshu in a statement he issued
36:54through his verified facebook account some hours ago he was the one who personally submitted himself
37:00voluntarily to the eddo state command of the nigeria police force to enable the police investigate
37:06his action that he never had the intention of stealing the money and his action of removing
37:11some money from the ransom was part of his usual operational procedures adding that the police never
37:17charged him to court and while in self-detention with the police he became the cell president and he

37:47one of her hands to caress the chest of her son harrison guamneshu during which she said a lot of prayers in
37:53her local dialect in his words harrison guamneshu said i did not return alone during my time in custody
38:03i became the cell presido obj and later handed over that responsibility to a young man honor abba who had
38:11also been unjustly arrested and detained while there i quietly supported the release of four individuals who
38:18were being held without cause and today honor abba from benaway state has also regained his freedom
38:24my sincere appreciation goes to my edo human rights team led by john odian kadiri for their invaluable
38:31support in making this possible dear family i am pleased to inform you all that i have been released
38:38from custody words cannot express how grateful i am for your support especially considering that many of
38:45you had not yet heard my own side of what truly happened for clarity i was neither invited nor arrested
38:51by the police as a law-abiding citizen i voluntarily presented myself for investigation regarding the
38:59incident at the moment i have not been charged as the matter is still under review by the directorate of
39:05public prosecution i sincerely appreciate every one of you i will take time to personally thank you all for
39:13standing by me my special appreciation goes to my lawyers barrister alawola afalabi san barrister delade
39:22benedian barrister favor adjuobor and barrister awale ideal for their professionalism and dedication in
39:28securing my release despite my many years of advocating against police brutality one might have assumed the
39:35police would be hostile towards me instead i am grateful to the edo state commissioner of police for
39:42his wisdom and professionalism i must also commend the hard-working investigation team led by csp osaj for
39:50their care and fatherly guidance during my time in detention thank you all once again for being part of

45:22barely one month after terrorists invaded the christian school on november 21st 2025 and kidnapped
45:29over 230 school children at the saint mary catholic church school in papri town in niger state
45:36the nigeria government under the leadership of president bola ahmed tanubu has announced the
45:41complete release of all the abducted church school children by the terrorists according to the
45:46presidential spokesperson bayou onanuga the terrorists released the kids based on intelligent
45:52driven operations but some nigerians who took to the comment sections of the presidential
45:57spokesperson on social media said the government should come out clean and tell the public the
46:03truth that it paid money as ransom to the terrorists to secure the freedom of the kids
46:08stressing that terrorists don't release kidnapped victims for free bayou onanuga the presidential
46:15spokesperson had said in a statement he issued and made available yesterday that the remaining 130
46:21school children abducted by terrorists at saint mary's catholic school in papri niger state on november
46:2821st have now been released they're expected to arrive in minna on monday and rejoin their parents for
46:35the christmas celebration 100 were released earlier by the terrorists taking the total of freed students to
46:42230. the freedom of the school children followed a military intelligence driven operation
46:49some social media users who are apparently nigerians took to the comment sections of the
46:55presidential spokesperson post both on facebook and x social media platforms and expressed themselves
47:01over the new developments some of which are presented verbatim below rilwan ibrahim said released not
47:08rescued kidnappers don't release captives for free in all thank god for their lives femi adiboye said
47:16so what happened to their abductors were they engaged in the way they understand or they were
47:22released after monetary negotiation we thank god for dot the release of these children at the same time
47:29what happened to the abductors akingbade agonbiade said military intelligence driven operation as how na
47:37how many bandits did they arrest banki alesh said a wheeler dealer government of no direction will never
47:44say the truth only god knows how much ransom was paid from the hard-earned resources or borrowed
47:50funds of this country no amount of propaganda or damage control nigerians becomes wiser every day
47:57with all your antics and they're ready for you come 2027 ruska oko said sir with all due respect
48:05do the terrorists release them unconditionally or your government paid ransom joe k megamixer stated
48:12the presidency celebrates a military intelligence driven operation for the papri release yet says
48:18nothing about the fate of the abductors in a functioning security system the return of victims
48:24is only half the job without arrests or neutralized threats this is not a rescue it is a handover that
48:32comes at a cost that wasn't mentioned the official account of the papri release reads like a travel
48:38itinerary not a security report if this was indeed an intelligence-led operation where are the
48:44suspects silence on the abductors fate suggests a non-combative arrangement that leaves the kidnap
48:51industry intact mass kidnappings in niger state have become a cycle of trauma and pr managed returns
48:58by failing to mention any neutralized threats or arrests in the papri operation the presidency
49:04inadvertently credits the kindness of terrorists for the freedom of our children aliyu muhammad stated
49:11kudos to president bola ahmed tanubu pbat for his serious commitment to tackling security challenges
49:19lately the government has been putting in real work to end kidnapping and banditry once and for all
49:25samuel ozana stated such military intelligence transactions completed alert received a government that
49:33negotiates with terrorists on news and stated i'm glad the remaining school children have been released
49:39and will soon be reunited with their families but mr bayo how many terrorists were arrested or killed
49:47during the operation to free these children or was it the usual method of paying ransom to these
49:53terrorists while pretending otherwise ben samuel stated what happened to the kidnappers frankly
50:01were far more interested in seeing how you deal ruthlessly with the terrorists than in the victims
50:06themselves because we all know you'll insist no ransom was paid even as they were released perhaps in
50:12exchange for x-mas handshakes you can't easily steal 50 cows and march them into the forests let alone
50:19abduct hundreds of human beings how do you plan to face nigerians next year and campaign for apc re-election
50:27when that would only mean more kidnappings and deeper insecurity this is a truly clueless
50:33administration what nigerians want is to see the forests littered with the bodies of neutralized
50:38kidnappers proof of overwhelming firepower but instead you allow them to regroup and strike again
50:44kidnapping even more victims every day chika ohaji added that mr onanuga don't you think it is just too
50:53much to ask children who have been in a terrorist den for close to two months to be smiling for the
50:58camera while we are relieved these children who are from being normal kids have undergone severe trauma
51:05asking them to smile for the camera is adding salt to injury they did not go on vacation it wasn't
51:12disney world i think you people can do better terrorists are in competition with government for
51:17control of resources that tells you a lot halita smith added that check out the words used how will
51:25release follow after a military intelligence operation and no abductors were either arrested or
51:30sent to their maker looks like we are getting good at hostile negotiations honorable noahu sada added that
51:38we welcome the safe release of the remaining 130 school children in papari while we rejoice with their
51:45families this tragic abduction underscores the urgent need for effective security reforms to ensure
51:51our children can learn without fear increasing rates of mass shooting leading to mass murder in south africa

54:19on illegal miners known by the group name zamazamas and the residents believed the police are in cahoots
54:25with the different gangsters terrorizing communities in south africa local residents who spoke with

54:59tender kids as young as two three years old when a gunshot sounds they don't flinch they would ask you
55:07which direction does it come from they're used to gunshots little kids now you can imagine how much
55:14about old people what happened yesterday is a reflection of i don't know how to put it maybe
55:21let me put it straight a reflection of neglect by the police criminals they do as they please hear
55:28these guns they sound each and every evening let me put it that way as soon as it's dusk we know that
55:35gunshots are about to sound and they will sound severely to a point whereby us ourselves would wonder
55:41someone is shot or maybe someone has died it is rare that you find people die like this but gunshots
55:49they sound the following morning there's no report of someone dead so i don't know if this today it's
55:56music it's something that they enjoy but it's terrorizing our communities who is terrorizing your
56:03community people that are terrorizing our communities mainly is the zama zamas and sutu nationals to be
56:09precise why am i saying that when you talk to some of them they will tell you that this is a rivalry
56:16thing it's a gang rivalry thing there are two gangs that are in the main that are playing a four role
56:22here and they're making sure that they send a clear message to each other you understand because here
56:29there's a gang of these people that reside here or that stays with us here and their arrival is on the
56:34other side of town so as they come here they're sending a message to these ones but at the expense
56:41of our own community so i would like to plea with general to please take action with this
56:47and he must be decisive with it such that he starts from within his own house there at the police the
56:53police station of pakistan if necessary let it be that they reshuffle everyone if they can transfer
57:00all of them and bring new members here because we are having a problem with them being in cahoots with
57:05criminals you understand the community will tell you the police are collecting brown envelopes from
57:11these people and nothing is happening so the crime here is dismal it's bad and the leadership let me be
57:18specific the counselors and the ward committees here must come to play but i think also they themselves
57:25they are politicizing these issues they are not they are not they are not up to up to scratch with
57:32this team among the 20 people shot with nine confirmed dead police says its investigation is
57:39ongoing from the point of view of the terrorist attack gauteng deputy provincial police commissioner
57:45major general fred kekana said the attackers searched people after shooting them taking their valuables
57:51including phones he said three people were killed inside the bar while others were shot as they

58:11and one ak-47 were unprovoked the poor patrons were just enjoying themselves when people came and shot
