00:0030-year-old Brazilian lady, Ingrid Rosa Benavides has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA,
00:09at the NAMDI Azakiwe International Airport Abuja for bringing into Nigeria a total of 30.09 kilograms of white heroin concealed in factory-sealed coffee packs worth over 3 billion nairas in street value.
00:23The suspect who works as a private security officer in Brazil was arrested at the Abuja Airport on Friday 23.09.2026 upon her arrival on a Qatar Airways flight QR-1431, following processed intelligence.
00:40After her arrest, a search was conducted on her two checked-in bags where 21 factory-sealed packets of Brazilian coffee were found.
00:48When the coffee bags were opened, rather than containing the beverage, what was found inside were white substances that later tested positive for heroin weighing a total of 30.09 kilograms, making it the single largest heroin seizure at the Abuja Airport.
01:05During her preliminary interview, the suspect claimed she brought the white heroin consignment under the guise of coming to Nigeria for holidays.
01:13At the Mitala Mohamed International Airport, MMIA, Akeja, Lagos, NDLEA operatives on Tuesday 20.09.20 intercepted two passengers,
01:26Adedirin Adedoyan and Afetak Parokako who were heading to Istanbul, Turkey,
01:31aboard a Turkish Airlines flight with a total of 3,990 pills of Tapentadol 250 mg and Tremaking 225 mg concealed in food items packed in their bags.
01:45Meanwhile, operatives of the Marine Command of the agency in the early hours of Thursday 22.09 intercepted a wooden boat loaded with 44 jumbo bags of Ghana Loud,
01:57a strain of cannabis weighing 1,848 kilograms at the Jakande Beach in Leki Lagos.
02:04The shipment had barely arrived from Ghana when NDLEA officers acting on credible intelligence stormed the location around 1 a.m.,
02:13recovered the consignment and the boat.
02:16Two suspects, Aminu Ali Baba, 20, and Abdul Rashid Abu Bakar, 28,
02:22were on Friday 23.09 arrested by NDLEA operatives in connection with the seizure of two bags containing 140 packets of explosives heading to Kano and Kaduna.
02:35The bags were intercepted in a commercial bus along Kaduna-Zaria Highway, Zaria,
02:40while Aminu Ali Baba was arrested at Kurota Park in Kano and Abdul Rashid Abu Bakar Loud at Mando Park in Kaduna in swift follow-up operations.
02:49An intelligence-led raid at Kwangila, Zaria local government area in Kaduna on Thursday 22.09 led to the arrest of
02:59I am really shocked by the way some unpatriotic Nigerians have gone on social media,
03:04misrepresenting Isho Speed's visit to Nigeria and using it to project a negative image of their very own country,
03:11while attempting to spoil what was a good narrative of a very successful visit.
03:15First of all, Isho Speed never said or implied that Nigeria is smelly.
03:21The young man perhaps achieved his most successful stream during his African tour in Nigeria,
03:27reaching a milestone of 50 million YouTube subscribers whilst in our dearly beloved country.
03:33He is the first black streamer to achieve that milestone,
03:36and it occurred in Nigeria, boosted by Nigerian subscribers appreciative of his visit.
03:41What these few unpatriotic Nigerians, who have a grudge against their own country,
03:47fed by a separatist agenda, have done is take a screenshot of a particular stream
03:52where Mr. Darren Jason Watkins Jr. made the face for a few seconds,
03:57which he often does all over the world, upon citing something interesting and peculiar.
04:03Using that snapshot, they painted a false narrative claiming that Lagos is smelly
04:07and that Darren Jason Watkins Jr., aka Isho Speed, did not enjoy his time there
04:13and found nothing interesting or cultural to do.
04:17Sadly, their claims have gone wildly viral.
04:20In fact, as evidenced by his streams and media coverage,
04:24Isho Speed had perhaps the most eventful moments of his Speed Does Africa tour in Nigeria,
04:29which is why he chose to spend his 21st birthday in our country.
04:33He drew his biggest crowds here and was so impressed by that that he testified about it.
04:39He had gastronomical and cultural experiences, including visiting Freedom Park
04:44and eating the world-famous Nigerian jollof rice, which he raved about.
04:50Thereafter, he had a belated Detti December moment by interacting with street dancers in a carnival-like manner,
04:56and had intermittent encounters and conversations with street performers,
05:00including a man whose physical strength he celebrated after attempting and failing to match his iron-bending skills.
05:07Isho Speed also enjoyed Nigerian couture when he got to wear the special Nigerian hat,
05:13known as a feeler, made in Nigeria from entirely from made-in-Nigeria fabric.
05:18Something that I have been promoting worldwide,
05:21his decision to blend in culturally with Nigerians through fashion made him so excited
05:26that he asked street vendors and onlookers whether he, looked Nigerian.
05:31And on his 21st birthday, Isho Speed was surrounded by schoolchildren in their school uniforms,
05:38singing the famous happy birthday song to him, almost bringing him to tears.
05:43At Freedom Park, Isho Speed interacted with various Lagos street performers,
05:47who taught the quick learner several dance steps particularly suited to the Nigerian music genre
05:53of Afrobeats that has taken the world by storm.
05:56Isho Speed then visited Abu Bakr Malami,
05:59a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation
06:03who was in office from November 2015 till May 2023
06:07when the then-President Mohamedou Buhari completed his eight years' tenure in office,
06:12under which, courts of competent jurisdiction granted several detained Nigerians bail
06:18but the Buhari government refused to release them
06:21and even rearrested some of them after they had perfected their bail conditions.
06:26The then Minister of Justice, Abu Bakr Malami
06:29who was saddled with the responsibility of protecting citizens' rights,
06:33came out openly and apparently justified the violations of court orders
06:37by the then-Buhari-led government,
06:39and during the administration of President Mohamedou Buhari,
06:43Abu Bakr Malami,
06:44frequently defended the actions of the government's refusal
06:47to obey court's orders of bail granted to high-profile individuals
06:52by asserting that national security and public interest superseded individual rights.
06:57Some of the high-profile individuals included Colonel Sambo Dasuki,
07:01the former National Security Advisor in the era of President Goodluck Abel A. Jonathan
07:06who was held for four years from December 2015 to December 2019,
07:12despite being granted bail by at least four different Nigerian high courts and the ECOAS court,
07:18he was repeatedly re-arrested by the Department of State Services,
07:22the SS immediately after fulfilling bail conditions,
07:26Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakaki and his wife Zina,
07:28detained from December 2015 until they were released in July 2021
07:34were refused bail after Federal Court declared the detention illegal in 2016
07:39and ordered their release by January 2017,
07:43but the government under which Abu Bakr Malami was a Justice Minister did not comply,
07:48until they were eventually acquitted of all charges by a Kaduna State High Court in 2021,
07:54also, Omiyele Sawari, an activist and a journalist who is the founder of Sahara Reporters News Media
08:01remained in DSS custody for several months in 2019 despite fulfilling bail conditions set by Justice Higeo Marijuku.
08:09He was re-arrested within the courtroom just 24 hours after a temporary release.
08:15Nandi Ikanu, the convicted and jailed indigenous people of Biafra,
08:19IPOB leader was refused bail during his initial trial in 2015,
08:24President Buhari then publicly stated during a media chat that Karnu among others would not be allowed to go on bail
08:32due to the nature of their alleged crimes, despite court rulings,
08:36in addition, was Navy Captain Dada Labinjo who was detained by the Nigeria military from September 2018 until at least late 2019,
08:45despite a federal high court order for his release and during these periods,
08:50Abu Bakr Malami provided several justifications for these detentions,
08:55most notably during his 2019.
08:57Nigeria Military Authority has confirmed the death of five soldiers and one police officer
09:02in an ambush launched by terrorists on Monday at Giddenwagny area of Zamfara State.
09:07The incident may be a reminder of incessant cases of high rates of Nigeria losing its soldiers
09:13and other security operatives in ambush, especially as observed as a worsening situation in the year 2025,
09:21with the ambush of army barracks and killing of the men of the armed forces of Nigeria,
09:26AFN by terrorists in large number began as early as January 2025.
09:30It may be recalled that in January 2025, terrorists launched an attack on the 149 battalion in Malamfattori,
09:40Orno State, leading to the killing of over 20 military personnel, including a battalion commander and senior officers.
09:48Within the first quarter, a careful review of news reports showed that more than 100 Nigeria soldiers
09:54were reportedly killed in the first quarter of 2025 by terrorists mostly in ambush.
10:00In June 2025, terrorists' attacks on three army bases in central and northwestern Nigeria
10:07resulted in the killing of at least 17 soldiers.
10:10And in September 2025, a major ambush on the Barga-Medaguri Road was reported,
10:17where at least 40 soldiers were killed and 65 went missing.
10:21While in October 2025, at least four soldiers were killed in a Boko Haram ambush in Borno State,
10:28while another encounter in Kumsha resulted in one soldier killed and by November 2025,
10:34the Nigerian army confirmed the death of Brigadier General Musa Ubar and two other soldiers
10:39following an ambush by ISWAP terrorists near Wajiruko Town in Borno State,
10:45which some local media reported that several soldiers were killed during the ambush.
10:49Even some of the local media stated that those who escaped the ambush like the Brigadier General
10:55were traced and killed by the terrorists apparently after hours of no rescue or prompt reinforcement
11:01by the Nigeria Military Authority.
11:04According to Captain David Adawasi, the media information officer of Operation Fansen Yama,
11:10the five soldiers and the police officer were killed while the troops were returning from a successful
11:15operation and responding to a distress call of terrorists' attack in a community in Zamfara State.
11:21In his words, Captain David Adawasi said,
11:25Troops of Operation Fansen Yama, OPFY, Joint Task Force Northwest,
11:31have demonstrated exceptional bravery, professionalism,
11:34and resilience following a terrorist ambush along the Binghi-Kekken-Wajay-Gusau Road
11:39in Zamfara State on 19 January 2026.
11:44The ambush followed a series of successful offensive operations conducted from 17 to 19 January 2026,
11:52when troops of Sector 2 OPFY, in conjunction with Peter Obi,
11:57the former Anambra State Governor and last Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party
12:01in the Nigeria 2023 general elections has insisted that the three brothers among the 12 persons
12:08that died as a result of fire that engulfed the 25-story building of Great Nigeria Insurance House
12:14Plaza at Balagun Market in Lagos Island on Christmas Eve,
12:18called for help for days with no emergency response from the government under the leadership
12:23of President Bola Ahmed Tanubu, saying,
12:27the three siblings, Mr. Stephen Onyeka Omatu aged 40, Mr. Kazmir Nabuk Omatu aged 39,
12:34and Mr. Collins Kenichukwu Omatu aged 37, for days,
12:39sent distressing pleas for help while trapped in the building.
12:42Yet there were no emergency services to rescue them.
12:46Several days passed in the rubble before their bodies were finally recovered,
12:50several days of unanswered calls,
12:52of a system that failed them at the moment they needed it most.
12:56Peter Obi made this statement after attending the burial ceremony of the three siblings held
13:01at Uzoqua Community in Iheala local government area of Anambra State on Wednesday.
13:07After Lagos State Government threw the Office of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy,
13:13Benga Omatu so in a statement issued on January 1, 2026,
13:18stated that as soon as the fire alarm was received on the day,
13:21the government deployed teams of first responders to the scene,
13:25including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service,
13:28Lagos State Emergency Management Agency,
13:31Lagos State Ambulance Services,
13:33security agencies,
13:35and other emergency and safety units,
13:37but,
13:38this statement from the Lagos State Government appears not to be in line with an eyewitness account,
13:43a resident who spoke with News Central Television at the scene of the fire incident
13:48that a phone call was made across to a fire service in Lagos State,
13:52but the fire service demanded 30 million naira's service fee before the fire service would respond to the emergency issue,
14:00this,
14:00the resident added that if the fire service had responded on time,
14:04the entire building would have been saved probably with no life lost because the fire was only at a single floor when the fire service was called.
14:13According to Punch newspaper,
14:15the three siblings died after being trapped inside the burning high-rise building in Lagos,
14:21an incident that shocked residents and reignited concerns over fire safety and emergency response in the country.
14:28According to family sources,
14:30the intensity of the inferno made rescue efforts impossible,
14:34and only ashes were recovered for burial.
14:36The burial brought grief and sorrow to Ihyala community,
14:40with residents praying that,
14:42their souls find rest and that their family find strength to pass through this trying time.
14:47After the burial,
14:49emotions ran high as the young wives of the deceased,
14:52family members,
14:53friends,
14:54schoolmates,
14:55inspector general of police,
14:57IGP Kar Yode Egbetokan for days now has refused to speak or deliberately kept mum
15:03after a well-known founder of a private organization,
15:06Harrison Bwamnishu,
15:08who have been assisting Nigeria security operatives with credible and reliable intelligence information
15:13that have led to the killing and arrest of several kidnappers in a video statement on Saturday revealed
15:20the complicit of the Nigeria police force in aiding and trying to cover up a reasonable suspect
15:26behind the kidnapping of a couple in the late days of November 2025 at Avili community in the Etsico West local government area of Edo State,
15:36and the reasonable suspect happened to be the younger brother of the man who was kidnapped alongside his wife,
15:42which,
15:43the kidnappers only set free the wife after a sting operational ransom money of 20 million nairas was given to the kidnappers
15:50with the reasonable suspect fully aware of all arrangements of the top secret security plans of Harrison Bwamnishu,
15:57but decided to make the sensitive security information public even when his elder brother is still held captive by the kidnappers.
16:05The reasonable suspect in a TikTok video live streaming,
16:09admitted that he was actually among the people arrested by soldiers over an issue,
16:13he,
16:14the reasonable suspect refused to state,
16:16the reasonable suspect among others were handed over to the Nigeria police force for the continuation of investigation and possible prosecution,
16:25but,
16:26according to Harrison Bwamnishu,
16:28immediately police noticed he was able to recognize the reasonable suspect as a family member who was aware of his security plans
16:35and he was also the one that helped deliver the money to the kidnappers in the bush,
16:40an order within the police authority came,
16:42and the reasonable suspect was set free immediately while others arrested alongside the reasonable suspect were remanded to prison,
16:50that aside,
16:51Harrison Bwamnishu in an exclusive interview with TVC television station made available to the public by the broadcast media on Sunday night,
17:00indicated that the Nigeria police force had all the opportunities and chances to rescue the remaining kidnapped victims,
17:08but,
17:08the police deliberately refused to go into the bush,
17:11with the police saying that the kind of intelligence information he had provided is an archaic style of intelligence gathering,
17:19this,
17:19according to Harrison Bwamnishu,
17:21forced him to show the police video evidences of how his style of intelligence has aided successful offensive operation against kidnappers,
17:30but,
17:30all his explanations went on their ears,
17:33even when for days,
17:34the tracking devices he added to the special money he mixed with the original money given to the kidnappers as ransom was still showing the exact location of the kidnappers
17:44and other useful information that could have enabled the police mobilize and rescue the remaining kidnapped victims.
17:50According to the reasonable suspect,
17:52Harrison Bwamnishu,
17:55the founder of a registered private organization assisting the Nigeria security operatives with credible and reliable intelligence information that have led to the killing and arrest of several kidnappers in the West Africa country,
18:07especially in the south-south geopolitical zone of Edo and Delta states,
18:13in a video statement issued via his verified social media account a few hours ago,
18:18has said that the family member and the brother of the kidnapped couple who worked with him and his team to deliver the prepared sting operational 20 million nairas ransom to the kidnappers has been arrested alongside his gang members with guns,
18:32but,
18:33according to Harrison Bwamnishu,
18:35immediately the Nigeria police force noticed that he could vividly recognize the suspect as a brother to the kidnapped couple.
18:42The Nigeria police force quickly released the suspect and charged other members of his gang arrested in Ouchi to court,
18:49even when the kidnapping involving the suspect's brother and wife is generating more reactions after the wife was set free by the kidnappers,
18:56while the husband who is the suspect's brother is still held in captivity till date by the kidnappers since both were kidnapped in their home at Avili village in the Etsuko West local government area of Edo state in late days of November 2025.
19:10According to Harrison Bwamnishu,
19:13before the ransom money was delivered to the kidnappers inside the bush,
19:17the kidnappers made a phone call to the arrested and quickly set free suspect to give him the exact location to drop the money,
19:25he was surprised to hear one of the kidnapped victims,
19:28the husband still with the kidnappers begging his brother who is currently seen as the suspect behind the kidnapping to forgive him if he has done anything wrong to him.
19:36The pleading shocked him but Harrison said he decided to act as if he never heard anything.
19:42Harrison Bwamnishu added that the suspect,
19:45he was the family member that raised the alarm that the ransom money wasn't complete,
19:50that,
19:50that was the reason the kidnappers only released the wife and refused to set free the husband.
19:56Stating clearly that everyone who participated in taking the money to the kidnappers affirmed that the kidnappers never counted the money.
20:03That even if the kidnappers had counted the money,
20:06he prepared the money specially by only scattering the tracking devices on the dummy Naira notes that looked like original Naira notes in a manner that made the whole money complete.
20:16The family member who delivered the ransom to the kidnappers and some of his gangs were arrested with guns in Ouchi by soldiers.
20:24The soldiers handed him over to Ouchi Area Command,
20:27Ouchi Area Command transferred him to Anti-Cultism Unit SCID Benin and along the side,
20:33an order came that the boy should be released.
20:36Other people with him were charged to court and sent to prison.
20:40Same boy was with us in Ouchi and knows our plans.
20:44I told the police my story,
20:46my statement is with the police.
20:48They did nothing.
20:50Continuing,
20:51Harrison Bwamnishu stated verbatim,
20:53one of the most talked about Islamic preachers in Nigeria who have had photographs with people suspected to be terrorists.
21:00Terrorizing villages and communities in the northern part of Nigeria
21:04when he visited the suspected terrorists in their camps inside forests on the ground of having peace talk with the armed groups.
21:11Sheikh Ahmed Abu Bakr Mahmoud Ghoumi has described as a terrorist act the United States,
21:17U.S. military action ordered by President Donald Trump that attacked and killed yet to be ascertained total numbers of ISIS-affiliated Lakarawa terrorists in Sokato State on Christmas Day.
21:29This, the Islamic cleric called on the people in the villages affected by the U.S. missile strikes on Thursday night to post on social media platforms evidences of damages caused by the U.S. military action.
21:43According to Ghoumi,
21:44it is in line with the teachers of Islam for terrorists to be killed, but, the killing must be done by people with a clean and holy hands,
21:53and, not by another terrorist whose hands are stained with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent children, women, and men just recently,
22:01stressing that, the U.S. involvement in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria will make the country becomes an enemy of its neighbors,
22:09a theater of war, because the involvement will attract the real anti-U.S. forces into the West Africa country,
22:16and in a manner that looked like mockery, Sheikh Ghoumi said,
22:20dropping a few bombs here and there cannot tackle the menace of terror.
22:23They need serious military on the ground, which, if we are serious, we have enough men to do that.
22:30In contrary to Ghoumi's assertions, the Nigeria government, through the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs,
22:36Yusuf Tugger said it was President Bola Ahmed Tanubu on Thursday that gave the U.S. the approval to carry out the strikes against the terrorists.
22:45But the government's statement apparently did not go down well with Omiyele Sawari,
22:50a human rights activist and the founder of Sahara Reporter's news media,
22:55who insisted that,
22:56it is evident that the strikes were carried out without the genuine authority or informed consent of the weaklings masquerading as government under Asawaju Bola Ahmed Tanubu,
23:06and in a swift reaction to Omiyele Sawari.
23:09One of the recently nominated and confirmed ambassador-designate,
23:13Reno Omakri said,
23:14I am afraid I will have to disagree with Mr. Omiyele Sawari,
23:19and others like him,
23:20who are misinforming the Nigerian public that the recent actions against terrorists are proof that Nigeria lacks sovereignty.
23:27Such views are indicative of a lack of awareness of international relations.
23:31It is also wrong for Mr. Sawari to call our government and military weak.
23:36Sheikh Ahmed Abu Bakr Mahmood Gumi in a statement titled,
23:40The Symbolism of the U.S. Strike.
23:42He shared on his verified Facebook account when he reshared the news link of a post published by CNN on Friday,
23:49said,
23:50Annihilating terrorists is an issue.
23:52While many Nigerians were asleep after the 2025 Christmas celebration,
23:57the United States-U.S. warship moved close and took position in the territorial Africa waters,
24:03then launched missiles at the dead of the night on Thursday into areas predominantly dominated by the Lakorawa terrorists
24:10in the Nigeria north-western state of Sokoto,
24:14with President Donald Trump saying many of the terrorists were killed.
24:17But,
24:18the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria,
24:20ISIS in the West Africa province is yet to issue a statement over the airstrikes on the Lakorawa camps in Sokoto,
24:27the armed group that is affiliated with the Islamic State Sahel province operating in Mali,
24:32Niji,
24:33and the Nigeria Kebi in Sokoto states whose activities are mostly observed in five local government areas of Tangasa,
24:42Gudu,
24:42Alela,
24:43Binji,
24:44and Salame in Sokoto state.
24:46This,
24:47some residents of Jabo village in the Tambul local government area of Sokoto state posted videos online
24:53to indicate that some components used in making the missiles fell on a farmland in the Jabo village,
25:00the videos showed a lot of the villages,
25:02mostly younger ones holding phones with touch light on,
25:05recording the scene of the burning parts of one of the missiles in the farmland,
25:10while some took a closer camera angle shot of some of the components that have manufacturing inscriptions dates and brand labels.
25:17The U.S. Africa command in a statement a few hours ago,
25:22said,
25:22at the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War,

25:39President Donald Trump while announcing the military action through his Truth social media platform on Thursday night,
25:46said,
25:47Tonight,
25:48at my direction as commander-in-chief,
25:50the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorist scum in northwest Nigeria,
25:57who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians,
26:02at levels not seen for many years,
26:04and even centuries.
26:06I have previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians,
26:11there would be hell to pay,
26:13and tonight,
26:14there was.
26:14The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes,
26:19as only the United States is capable of doing.
26:22Under my leadership,
26:23our country will not allow radical Islamic terrorism to prosper.
26:28May God bless our military,
26:30and Merry Christmas to all,
26:31including the dead terrorists,
26:33of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.
26:36Peter Hegseth,
26:38the U.S. Secretary of War,
26:40reiterated the U.S. President announcement in a tweet,
26:44saying,

26:47the killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria,
26:49and elsewhere,

26:51In an effort to challenge and prove wrong the statement of Harrison Guamnishu,
26:55a well-known civilian volunteer assisting Nigeria security operatives with intelligence information
27:01that has led to the arrest and killing of suspected kidnappers in gun battle,
27:05that,
27:06he,
27:06Harrison Guamnishu was never arrested or charged to court by the Nigeria police force.
27:12Over the 5.4 million Nairas he allegedly removed from the 20 million Nairas ransom,
27:18he was contracted to hand over to the kidnappers for the release and rescue of the married couple kidnapped in Avili community
27:26in the Etsuko West local government area of Edo State in late November 2025.
27:33A leading Nigeria social media influencer and human rights activist,
27:37Martins Vincent Otz aka Varidakman on Tuesday night took to his social media pages
27:43and presented an apparent questionable court document,
27:46probably with malicious intent to manipulate and mislead unsuspecting members of the public
27:51in order to malign the character of Harrison Guamnishu,
27:55this,
27:55in the court document presented by Varidakman,
27:58the alleged charge serial numbers were covered with a colored ink.
28:02No date of court sitting was written on the court document,
28:04the document indicated that the alleged three count charges were drafted and signed on the 18th of December 2025,
28:12a day before Harrison Guamnishu was asked to go home from the police custody on December 19th,
28:182025 while awaiting the advice of the Department of Public Prosecutor,
28:24DPP on the matter,
28:25and the apparent fraudulent court document did not show the officer or the person responsible for the court count charges,
28:32and Varidakman apparently in a manipulative manner did not show the full signature
28:37and any name of the officer who authored the alleged court charges.
28:41Varidakman claimed in the video that the prosecutor wanted Harrison Guamnishu jailed for six months
28:47but the judge he identified as Justice Etinoza Adekombi allegedly on her personal consideration,
28:53because of the Christmas and New Year season and public intervention decided to grant Harrison Guamnishu bail.
29:00Harrison Guamnishu says he was never arrested by the police or charged to court as speculated in the public spaces
29:06over the 5.4 million nairas he allegedly removed out of the 20 million nairas ransom he was given to hand over to kidnappers
29:14and as well apparently used the money as a bait to stage sting operation for the release and rescue of the husband and wife
29:21simply identified as Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim kidnapped in Avili community in the Etsuko West local government area of Edo State,
29:29which generated public reactions after the kidnappers set free the wife and kept the husband in captivity on the ground
29:36that the money given to them was not complete, and some persons who have access to the apparent sensitive security information
29:43went public to create an impression as if Harrison Guamnishu stole part of the ransom money, even Harrison Guamnishu says
29:51he was never arrested by the police or charged to court as speculated in the public spaces over the 5.4 million nairas
29:58he allegedly removed out of the 20 million nairas ransom he was given to hand over to kidnappers
30:04and as well apparently used the money as a bait to stage sting operation for the release and rescue of the husband and wife
30:11simply identified as Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim kidnapped in Avili community in the Etsuko West local government area of Edo State,
30:19which generated public reactions after the kidnappers set free the wife and kept the husband in captivity on the ground
30:26that the money given to them was not complete, and some persons who have access to the apparent sensitive security information
30:33went public to create an impression as if Harrison Guamnishu stole part of the ransom money,
30:39even when Harrison Guamnishu explained to them that it is part of his operational procedures to remove some cash from the ransom money,
30:47his explanation apparently went on deaf ears, and people who may be best described as mischief makers
30:52took advantage of the issue to call Harrison Guamnishu names and reopen his alleged past deeds in a prejudiced manner
31:00to cast aspersions on him even when they knew that Harrison Guamnishu has a long history with video evidences
31:06of assisting security operatives to rescue kidnapped victims and in some cases,
31:12the total money paid as ransom are recovered and returned to the victims' families and the sting operation
31:17usually leads to the killing and arrest of the suspected kidnappers.
31:21This, according to Harrison Guamnishu in a statement he issued through his verified Facebook account some hours ago,
31:28he was the one who personally submitted himself voluntarily to the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force
31:35to enable the police investigate his action that he never had the intention of stealing the money
31:40and his action of removing some money from the ransom was part of his usual operational procedures,
31:46adding that, the police never charged him to court and while in self-detention with the police,
31:51he became the cell president and he facilitated the release of four persons who were probably arrested
31:57and detained by the police unjustly for a crime the beneficiaries may know nothing about
32:02and a video posted online by Harrison Guamnishu on Monday night
32:06showed he arrived home to the waiting hands of his elderly mother who was seen in the video singing,
32:12dancing with other family members, friends and well wishes and screaming loud with joy
32:17while using one of her hands to caress the chest of her son, Harrison Guamnishu
32:22during which she said a lot of prayers in her local dialect.
32:26In his words, Harrison Guamnishu said,
32:29I did not return alone.
32:31During my time in custody, I became the cell presiddo, OBJ
32:36and later handed over that responsibility to a young man, Honor Abba,
32:41who had also been unjustly arrested and detained.
32:44While there, I quietly supported the release of four individuals who were barely one month
32:50after terrorists invaded the Christian school on November 21, 2025
32:54and kidnapped over 230 school children at the St. Mary Catholic Church School in Papri Town in Niger State.
33:02The Nigeria government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tanubu
33:07has announced the complete release of all the abducted church school children by the terrorists.
33:12According to the presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga,
33:16the terrorists released the kids based on intelligent-driven operations,
33:20but, some Nigerians who took to the comment sections of the presidential spokesperson on social media,
33:26said, the government should come out clean and tell the public the truth
33:30that it paid money as ransom to the terrorists to secure the freedom of the kids,
33:35stressing that, terrorists don't release kidnapped victims for free.
33:38Bayo Onanuga, the presidential spokesperson had said in a statement he issued and made available yesterday that,
33:46the remaining 130 school children abducted by terrorists at St. Mary's Catholic School in Papri,
33:53Niger State, on November 21, have now been released.
33:57They're expected to arrive in Minna on Monday and rejoin their parents for the Christmas celebration.
34:04100 were released earlier by the terrorists, taking the total of freed students to 230.
34:11The freedom of the school children followed a military intelligence-driven operation.
34:15Some social media users who are apparently Nigerians took to the comment sections of the presidential spokesperson
34:22post both on Facebook and ex-social media platforms and expressed themselves over the new developments,
34:29some of which are presented verbatim below.
34:32Rilwan Ibrahim said,
34:34Released not rescued.
34:36Kidnappers don't release captives for free.
34:39In all thank God for their lives.
34:40Femi Adaboye said,
34:43So what happened to their abductors?
34:45Were they engaged in,
34:46the way they understand,
34:48or they were released after monetary negotiation?
34:51We thank God for dot the release of these children,
34:54at the same time,
34:55what happened to the abductors?
34:58Akinbade Aganbiade said,
35:00Military intelligence-driven operation.
35:03As how N.A.,
35:04how many bandits did they arrest?
35:06Banki Alesh said,
35:07A wheeler-dealer government of no direction will never say the truth.
35:12Only God knows how much ransom was paid from the hard-earned resources or borrowed funds of this country.
35:19No amount of propaganda or damage control.
35:22Nigerians becomes wiser every day with all your antics and they're ready for you come 2027.
35:28Rusko Oko said,
35:30Sir,
35:30with all due respect,
35:32do the terrorists release them unconditionally or your government paid ransom?
35:35Joe K. Megamixer stated,
35:38The presidency celebrates a,
35:40military intelligence-driven operation,
35:43for the papyri release,
35:44yet says nothing about the fate of the abductors.
35:48In a,
35:48forces who are unable to bring the youth to news in a more digital way.
