00:15:41sophisticated Strictly performance
00:15:47So I'm Mel and I'm going to be attempting to dance I
00:15:51I used to be in a band in the 90s called all Saints
00:15:55It was amazing being with my best mate traveling the world, but the dancing was a lot of plodding around
00:16:01There was a lot of shoulder bopping back in those days. I don't think there's gonna be any comparison to does in on strictly
00:16:09I've always been nervous when I sang so this is gonna be like times a million
00:16:14I am at the point in my life where I know that I need to challenge myself
00:16:18I mean, you know, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I'm just gonna give it my best
00:16:27We are going to be dancing the Etta jazz gets sort of Fred and ginger-esque a lot of sort of posing
00:16:35I'm actually really enjoying it and that's probably got something to do with Kai as well. I mean, he's so lovely
00:16:43I wouldn't say I'm in my natural element here because I've got scoliosis and I've got my odds in my spine
00:16:48And that makes me quite stiff. Yeah, and let's give it to Gene Kelly
00:16:52So if my life on Shruggy wasn't hard enough, Kai decided to bring umbrellas into this relationship

00:25:29Hello, I'm Brian McFadden, you probably know me best for being in Westlife.
00:25:33Being in Westlife was one of the best experiences of my life, getting to travel around the world,
00:25:38being a pop star, which is something I never thought I was going to be as a kid.
00:25:41My house was always full of dancing, it was a huge part of growing up in Ireland.
00:25:46I wasn't very good at it, but I absolutely loved doing it.
00:25:49You know, Strictly, it's an institution, it's part of British history.
00:25:53But the main reason I'm doing this is for my daughter Ruby, she's absolutely obsessed with Strictly.
00:25:57I can't wait to see her little face when she sees me on Christmas Day.
00:26:00The jive is very, very difficult, it's not an easy dance.

00:26:09You know, it's fast, you need really good stamina for it.

00:44:51formal dance training there's no experience whatsoever when i step out there onto the strictly
00:44:57dance floor there will be pressure but i think you need that little edge hopefully that's when the
00:45:02magic happens and step and courtesy i've always wanted to do a viennese waltz but when i turned up i
00:45:10realized how technical it was it's very specific so it's tough trying to get your head around exact
00:45:18form and structure so oh that's lovely it feels great to do the lifts i'm just worried that i'm
00:45:25gonna drop luba i'll spin her off the stage but um she's very very kind very very patient beautiful
