00:00Let's start with a nine-year-old hero in North Carolina. For any parents listening,
00:04this story may make you think twice about limiting YouTube screen time for your little ones.
00:10Back in March, a second grader named Jason Branch was playing basketball with his schoolmates when
00:15another child, a seven-year-old, started choking on a granola bar. There is actual footage of the
00:21whole thing, and it is remarkable. When Branch sees the boy struggling to breathe and keel over,
00:26he jumps into action like a pro and performs the Heimlich to great success, I might add.
00:33Where does a grade schooler learn such a thing? You probably guessed by now. Quote,
00:37I learned it from watching YouTube. Branch had previously seen one of his teachers perform
00:41the maneuver and popped onto YouTube to learn how to do it. Clearly, this is a kid you want around
00:46in a crisis. And it goes without saying, both boys' parents were impressed after watching the
00:51surveillance footage. They said that the young students have developed an even stronger bond
00:55following the near-fatal incident. Now to one you might remember, the miraculous rescue of Chili the
01:03Chihuahua Mix. Chili was out for a walk in New York City with his dog mom, and this was one night
01:07over the summer, and he somehow managed to wiggle out of his harness. This little guy bolted into
01:13traffic, got clipped by a car, which in turn made him bolt even faster. Chili's mom was apoplectic over
01:21this, and she scoured the streets for days. A week went by, and it seemed Chili's fate was pretty much
01:27sealed. But then on day 10, a group of kayakers spotted the poor puppy paddling for his life in
01:34the Hudson River. He was covered in oil and malnourished, but otherwise okay, and the kayakers
01:41managed to get him safely out of the water. So how is Chili doing now that he's back with his dog mom
01:46at home? Well, I just had to ask. Chili's mom Gabby gave the postcast an update. Hi New York Post,
01:51it's Gabby, Johnny, and Chili with a little Chili update. Chili's in full good health, and he's happy
01:58and healthy. We wanted to, you know, give a shout out to all the people that supported us while he was
02:04missing, like a local pet store owner and North Star Pet Rescue that we rescued him from. They gave us
02:11a little care package once they found out Chili was found, which was super sweet of them.
02:17Since we found Chili, we have gotten the Phi collar so we can track Chili. God forbid he were to ever
02:24get away, but that will never happen again. We could also track his health and how much he sleeps,
02:31how active he is. So it's, it's, we actually highly recommend it. It's just a great collar.
02:37It's waterproof. It gives us some ease of mind after everything that happened. And at the time Chili
02:44was lost, uh, Gabby didn't, obviously didn't know this at the time, but I, uh, had plans to propose
02:51in Florida. Um, and with Chili lost, I didn't want the proposal to be overshadowed. We were so distraught
02:58with, uh, with, uh, with Chili not being, um, together with us. So I actually ended up, uh, canceling
03:05those plans, um, and waiting until we, uh, found Chili. And luckily, fortunately we did. Um, and I made
03:13new plans, uh, to propose to her a few weeks after that and it ended up being perfect. We actually
03:19had Chili photobomb some of the, uh, the photos of our proposal. Um, and I think I really caught Gabby
03:25by surprise and, and I guess Chili by surprise too. Yeah, it was, it was honestly perfect. Everything
03:31you could have ever imagined. It was surprised. All of our friends were there. And like he said,
03:37while Gianni was down on one knee, Chili photobombed and it's like the most perfect photo ever. I'm so
03:44happy he was there for that moment. And since then, Chili turned one this past October and we
03:50celebrated with pup cups and all of his favorite toys. And the biggest update of it all for our
03:56little family is we just moved down to South Florida and brought Chili to his retirement life.
04:02Our complex has a dog park private just for the residents. And he has a lot of
04:07friends, a lot of buddies. He loves to play around. Um, he really enjoys playing with them.
04:12He has the freedom to run around in that little dog park and he, I think he couldn't be happier
04:17and neither could we. And I know it doesn't come as much of a surprise to anyone, but Chili still
04:23does not like the water. Yeah. He's not a fan of the water. For more on these stories and everything
