Travel chaos in US Northeast, over 9,000 flights cancelled due to winter storm

A mix of snow and ice bore down on the northeastern United States on Saturday (Dec 27), disrupting post-holiday weekend traffic and prompting officials in New York and New Jersey to issue weather emergency declarations even as the storm ebbed by mid-morning. 01:07It's mostly just people sitting around.

01:10Like, uh, because the truth is, and this is also the thing with the speaking to people,

01:16like, all these trains on that board, only one of them says the actual track.

01:21So it's not like you can go to the gate and wait.

01:24You just sort of have to find a comfortable place and then wait for them to announce it,

01:28which can be really at any time.

01:31Like, it can be, like, right before the train leaves.

01:33Well, I suppose it's the snow, the blizzard that started yesterday.

01:37I got here early, uh, worrying about my train to get to my Amtrak train,

01:43and it appears that Amtrak is delayed, at least in the Northeast Corridor, pretty much.

01:47Wear warm clothes, because it's kind of cold in here, um,

01:51and just have a kind of chill attitude and go with the flow,

01:56because there are always hiccups and delays.

01:59Actually, we were on a train at 3 o'clock, and we called up Amtrak,

02:05and it was because of a power line down somewhere in New England,

02:09and they put us, um, on a 5 o'clock train back home.

02:14So, um, all in all, we are just slightly delayed,

02:18and I think it's a little crowded on the upper level.

02:21Um, so on the lower level, it's not bad at all.

02:24We have plenty of space here, and we're just waiting for our train,

02:28which is now boarding.

02:29So we need to run.

02:30We've got a drug on blood in North America.

02:38So we have dominion that we've got no more time.
