00:00Let's start with a nine-year-old hero in North Carolina. For any parents listening,
00:04this story may make you think twice about limiting YouTube screen time for your little ones.
00:10Back in March, a second grader named Jason Branch was playing basketball with his schoolmates when
00:15another child, a seven-year-old, started choking on a granola bar. There is actual footage of the
00:21whole thing and it is remarkable. When Branch sees the boy struggling to breathe and keel over,
00:26he jumps into action like a pro and performs the Heimlich to great success, I might add.
00:33Where does a grade schooler learn such a thing? You probably guessed by now. Quote,
00:37I learned it from watching YouTube. Branch had previously seen one of his teachers perform
00:42the maneuver and popped onto YouTube to learn how to do it. Clearly, this is a kid you want around
00:47in a crisis. And it goes without saying, both boys' parents were impressed after watching the
00:51surveillance footage. They said that the young students have developed an even stronger bond
00:56following the near-fatal incident.
