00:00Hello, everybody, and welcome to Giants Live.
00:22We're in Sacramento, California,
00:24counting down to this year's World's Strongest Man finals.
00:27Currently, some of the most powerful men on the planet
00:29trying to win their places here on the Giants Live qualifying tour.
00:33And for today's action, we head now to London for the Strongman Classic.
00:37It features a stacked line-up of athletes
00:39and also a particularly special setting, the Royal Albert Hall.
00:52Radzi, it's time.
00:53Mark, I don't think I can do it.
00:59I've only got one take at this.
01:01You can do it. Come on.
01:03Roger that. Can't believe he's 59.
01:05Thanks, Big Tell.
01:07The Royal Albert Hall in 1867.
01:08It took four years and six million red bricks
01:12to create this architectural masterclass called the Royal Albert Hall.
01:16It was the dream of Prince Albert, but the dedication of Queen Victoria.
01:20And since Her Majesty,
01:22every single reigning monarch has attended a show here.
01:25Two Edwards, two Georges, a Charles and an Elizabeth.
01:29And as well they might, because adorning these walls,
01:31evidence of the pantheon of pop culture.
01:35Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Beyoncé.
01:39Eric Clapton performed here 200 times.
01:41Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Led Zeppelin, Luciano Pavarotti.
01:47Muhammad Ali even competed in an exhibition boxing bout here.
01:51Albert Einstein performed one of his lectures here.
01:55And Winston Churchill even orated his wartime speeches
01:59right in this very special place.
02:02And as for what happened in 1901,
02:04well, that was the first ever global bodybuilding competition
02:07with none other than Eugene Sandow.
02:10One of the judges that day was the author of Sherlock Holmes' Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
02:21Going up...
02:43Ground floor...
02:48Not awkward at all.
02:50But how about Giants Live?
02:52Well, that itself has left an indelible mark on an iconic structure.
02:57What a place this is.
02:59World records have been set courtesy of Giants Live.
03:02And how about the loudest noise ever recorded
03:06in its over 150-plus year history?
03:10Incredible. But how, I hear you ask.
03:14Well, that's courtesy of the passion of the strength athletics fans.
03:17Because when special things happen, we get a special response.
03:22Don't believe me? Take a listen to this.
03:27Royal Albert Hall, welcome to the best fans in the world!
03:47I love Royal Albert Hall as a venue. I think it's the most iconic.
03:50It sort of embodies where we were in the past.
03:52But in the past, we were a circus show that was adjacent to the royal activities.
03:56And now we're a legitimate sport being recognized that way
03:58in one of the most iconic venues in England.
04:00Getting the opportunity to compete at the Royal Albert Hall, it's just absolutely crazy.
04:02Like, this is the one.
04:04It's very humbling when I think about everybody that has been on the stage
04:08at the Royal Albert Hall, and now I can count myself amongst one of those great,
04:12great people in history.
04:13It's something that I hold very close to my heart.
04:16It makes me feel like all of the sacrifices were worth it.
04:21It's a laundry list.
04:23I mean, I've lost girlfriends, I've lost jobs, I've been homeless, I've lived in my car,
04:40but I continued to pursue this crazy dream of being a professional straw man anyway,
04:44and I think for a long time, I'm just gonna stay here for a day.
04:48But I continued to pursue this crazy dream of being a professional straw man anyway, and it's led me to the most prestigious
04:56Colosseum like theater in the entire world
05:06I feel like I'm still a rising star obviously I've had almost a dream year
05:11It's been absolutely unbelievable. I've done things. I never thought I would
05:14Every show I'm coming to I'm feeling stronger faster
05:19I mean we're just getting better all the time which is just what I want to keep doing for the next 15 years or so
05:25My mother was the one when I said in 2023 that I'm gonna quit my
05:30Pretty pretty good job in finance to pursue a career of lifting rocks in my garage
05:35I think it took a lot for her to sort of unless she always believed in me and she gave me that like you do like you
05:41You can always get back to that life, but I agree like you've got to go for it and ever since I quit my job
05:47That was for me
05:49The turning point him and I can really focus on it and it just became my life and all-consuming
06:00I think that the younger me would realize a little bit more that
06:05He is worth it and that he is enough
06:07And that there's an entire crowd waiting to cheer him on when he goes out there and does what he loves
06:15I think that that would mean
06:18Everything to the child version of me
06:21Well, you can see just how much this event at this venue means to these men my heart racing
06:44But who else have we shoved on the minibus driven to the Royal Albert Hall
06:49I've seen him already a very special guest here trying to break the Hercudys hold world record tonight mark Felix
07:05Making his debut the winner of the official strongman games last year Nick Guardiola
07:11From South Africa former rugby player. It's Yako Schoonwinkel
07:22And another South African two-time Africa's strongest man Rayne O'Neill
07:28Did so well at Britain's strongest man recently known as Big Ben Ben Glascott
07:40Two-time world's strongest man athlete former collegiate football player Spencer Remick
07:45Reigning America's strongest man a brilliant blog lifter Lucas Hatton
07:55The 2023 Europe's strongest man came third in this event last year handsome Pablo Cordiaca
08:03We're so pleased this guy's back came third Europe's strongest man. It's Kieloskovsky
08:15There was a prize the most surprising strong man and most improved
08:20I mean this guy Paddy Haynes
08:22Pound for pound arguably the strongest man in the world when it comes to pure raw power Trey Mitchell
08:29He's won five Giants live titles before the former WWE wrestler Evan Singleton
08:39And this guy well he set world records in this amazing hall the man to beat tonight former world's strongest man
08:46Mitchell Hooper
08:52So those are your strong man why not pick a favorite and have a tattoo done
08:59And this is the first event Danny the log medley 120 kilos up to 180 kilos five logs 60 seconds to press them all out
09:08So far we've seen Cordiaca take the lead with four in 32 seconds. No one has done all five yet
09:15So next up in the log medley a mighty pairing
09:21It's the T-Rex of T-Rex Evan Singleton
09:28Looking serene
09:30Oh not so much up against the return of the Terminator Mateus Kieloskovsky
09:40Lucas Hatton America's strongest man giving him some encouragement a great love pressure himself of course
09:46Absolutely uh probably the favorite for this event actually
09:52And it's Kieloskovsky who we saw at Europe's strongest man has overcome that triceps injury
09:58It looks really strong now in the overhead press again
10:02He's great the way he flicks it straight from his hips up overhead
10:05That's the normal technique that Singleton's doing and uh on to the fourth
10:11Four and 32 seconds to beat he's done that Kieloskovsky takes the lead
10:17Well Kieloskovsky takes on the fifth
10:20It's a solid work from Evan Singleton but Kieloskovsky on the right hand side
10:25Oh surely he manages it as does T-Rex
10:34He was under pressure there T-Rex was catching five in 45.25 there's our new leader
10:42Five in 47.22 for Singleton he'll be delighted with that
10:48Look at the way he lifts these logs
10:50Snatches it up just rolls it up from the hips and keeps going
10:55Saves him so much time and the last one well he had to take it to his chest there
11:01Impressive stuff but there's the early leader then but coming up at the royal albert hall
11:06There's more big dogs taking on big locks in our opening event including the reigning champion
11:12That's next on the strongman classic
11:20The reigning america's strongest man lucas hatton fantastic at this event
11:49He's about as tall as he is wide he's really a unique shape lucas look at the legs on him
11:56This guy can just about press anything
11:59Absolutely
12:02Not so good at the hurdles though as he moves on to the second
12:07Got his leg over eventually there we go
12:11Now then Trey Mitchell just about matching money for power here certainly can from the shoulders look at that
12:18Number three flies up
12:21Looking really good though, ooh tried to snatch it from the waist and nearly got caught
12:25Well, it's 45 seconds to beat as uh laid down by Kieloszkowski and hatton
12:32I wouldn't bet against him
12:35Easy
12:37Mitchell might do it as well
12:39He does
12:40Well, that's fantastic from both americans five in 43.22 for trey mitchell and five in 37.71 for hatton
12:51For hatton it's more of an olympic movement. He's a bit more dynamic for mitchell. It's just raw power and pressing
12:56Remember the top three at the end of the title race automatically qualify for the world's strongest man finals we've seen hooper there
13:10He took the overall title mighty canadian he can set his mind to anything
13:20Really going head to head
13:22With rayn o'nell two-time africa's strongest man
13:27And really one to watch. I mean he's two-time africa's strongest man. He's he's only been doing the sport two years
13:33He's extraordinary
13:35Goodness me
13:37Well
13:40Hooper's just got to recover now just
13:42Calm down get his heart rate down a little bit. That was a really bad start
13:47For the man who won here last year. He didn't just win. He actually broke two world records on the way to winning as well. So
13:54I'm sure he can uh calm himself down here and
13:57And mitchell start to catch up. Rayn o'nell looks really great though first time in a giant's life looks really solid
14:05Did look really solid something wrong there with his right arm
14:11And mitchell did exactly what he needed to do just steady the ship now can he get the fifth up looks like nell is stuck
14:19on that fourth
14:22Hooper looks beaten
14:24He's now got it no no
14:30Well match three 21.44 seconds surprising
14:36Surprising also with Hooper for 34.97
14:41That means that lucas hatton takes this event
14:45This is a bad moment for Hooper. I think we can say you can't teach that
14:48How would you want to but lucas hatton is with radzy now?
14:54Lucas hatton it was almost like hurdling the log was the biggest obstacle lifting it wasn't an issue
14:59Yeah, I uh, I'm six foot, but I got a 30 inch inseam so
15:03Short legs. It was about all I had to get over the logs almost bit it on the first one
15:07But held the pace. I knew trey was right behind me and I got it done
15:10It was a close one, but talking about your size
15:13Statically for those at home statically you're one of the strongest men on earth period amongst these guys
15:18Yeah, and and trey
15:20I'm glad I was with him because he's really the only guy in that category
15:23Especially pressing that can really push me and uh
15:25I'm excited for future shows me and him are going to push on events like log for years to come
15:30I'm very excited for today. Thanks for your time. Thank you
15:34Lucas looking limber on the timber there six seconds faster than trey mitchell
15:38kiliskoski and singleton the only other men to make all five lifts hooper down in seventh over to radzy for event two
15:47The hercules holds an iconic event in an iconic venue
15:52It is the equivalent of a quarter of a ton in each hand how these gentlemen do what they do is frankly preposterous
16:00The world record goes back to 2020 with one mark felix
16:06What a feat that was could the record go again today?
16:10And where better for it to happen than the royal abbot hall the coliseum of strength
16:16Hercules hold
16:21This is what it involves 250 kilos in each hand the world record held by mark felix is 92.37 seconds
16:31Well, anyone who gets over a minute is doing well
16:34And so far the top six
16:37Are over one minute, but we still have some of the best to come
16:41This man here mitchell hooper world's strongest man winner last year's royal albert hall champion
16:50Didn't have the best first event
16:53Didn't have the best second event
16:56Well normally so good at this kind of thing just looked a little off
16:59So we move on with paddy haynes
17:06The young brit
17:08Who has just incredible farmer boy grip strength
17:13He'll be looking to bounce back after
17:16That opening event
17:17Pressing not his forte
17:19But does have incredible grip strength
17:23He looks pretty calm when you see the view he's looking out onto and all the people all around him at the royal albert hall
17:32He seems very chilled, but he'll be
17:36In a world of hurt right now as the lactic acid builds up in his forearms and his grip
17:42Those handles start to pull out of his hands
17:45The big shake will come on at some point but right now holding firm
17:48So one minute ten to beat
17:53A psychological game this isn't it we're gonna dig deep
17:57Find your happy place
17:59This is very few people's happy place
18:03It's starting to bite big time now you can see he's shaking he's moving around a bit
18:07Trying to just offload some of the pain on the other muscles in and around the shoulders and chest
18:12I think he could be 110 no he can't oh well he wasn't far off and he's disappointed by that
18:20Time stops when those pillars hit the ground one minute and seven in the end
18:29Left hand went first
18:33And of course mark felix coming up soon here as a guest just for the hercules hole 59 years old
18:42Evan singleton
18:46He just finds that grim determination so early on squeezes his eyes shut
18:55He's one of these characters who can just go to a really really dark place and
19:01Find the determination to pull himself through he's almost a little smile in his face of pleasure
19:08That's that's the mentality you need for this kind of event
19:11There's no stranger to blocking out pain
19:18Breathing gently just keeping the oxygen going in he's past 30 seconds without a problem
19:23He's got some enormous hands and they almost take up the whole handle there
19:28Getting to a minute is extraordinarily hard
19:35He just wants to let go but he won't
19:39One 10 still to beat how close will Evan get to that
19:52Or will he blast past it he shakes his head no he's even trying to pull his arms in
19:57Oh he's just done it goodness me
20:031 11 39
20:08So Evan singleton wins that event
20:11Yes indeed and now just the guest in this contest mark felix to come
20:16Evan singleton did enough to beat the one minute and ten by the time those pillars hit the floor
20:22He was a second clear and he takes event two
20:28Evan you know this venue extremely well you've won here before you've also pulled out injured here before how good
20:34Is it to be back performing as you are oh it feels so good
20:37It feels good to be able to put on all the hard work and the sacrifices that i've went through on display for everybody here
20:43This venue is amazing. This crowd is amazing. I want my title back
20:48You're always intense, but something tells me you're in a really good place
20:52Yeah, yeah a lot of things starting to really click in my personal life in my professional life
20:58Things are going amazing and I couldn't ask for any any better circumstance than to be out here
21:03Go well today. Thank you
21:06Mark felix then
21:08He's back
21:11Officially retired from strongman but wanted to give this a crack
21:17Almost 60 years old. That's right
21:21He's an extraordinary human being mark
21:23And when he broke that world record in 2020
21:25Oof, there was a bit of a jerk there. He didn't
21:29Have it particularly tight, but then again, it's mark felix. Look at the way he can wrap his fingers around the whole thing
21:34And lock it in. He's just got colossal hands
21:38So his own world record stands at one minute 32
21:49Tell you what the way it jerked to the start there it didn't it looked a bit like it wasn't quite holding it tight enough
21:54But only mark felix can take that hit and not even bat an eyelid
22:01I don't know what he's thinking about
22:03If he's thinking at all he's trying to block out the pain
22:07Is he thinking
22:09I'm five years off my free bus pass
22:13I shouldn't be doing this
22:17This is a man who still works six days a week as a plasterer
22:20Grit determination hard work, but he's only just hit the minute. He's starting to shake a little bit
22:28Two thirds of the way there
22:30A lot of pressure on mark felix the crowd are desperate to see him do a world record. He goes past singleton. He does
22:39Now the eyes open
22:42He's looking to that right hand. He's not happy with it
22:46Oh
22:50Well, he came closer than anyone else did
22:52He was just about what eight nine seconds off it
22:56And let's see what shape he's in not bad is he
23:00One minute 22.79 an incredible result in anyone's book
23:08Mark felix, I know there'll be millions of people watching this who are saying 59 years of age
23:14How how are you doing what you just did up there you know just you got to look up for yourself
23:20You have to keep training. You just got to keep moving
23:23You know, I think the most important thing is you got to listen to your body as well look after yourself
23:2860 years of age could you be back trying to break that world record again?
23:32I'll try and come back and do it again. I will keep training
23:35But I would like to break the world record, you know
23:38I could break it and I could break it
23:39The great news is you're going to be back mark congratulations. Thank you
23:43Quite the flex from felix there turn up smash the times the world's best strongman by 11 seconds and say see you next year
23:50Evan singleton the next best with guardi only third and schoonwalker beating haynes by one-tenth of a second
23:56Which means overall singleton takes a four-point lead from schoonwalker with three men tied a point behind the south african and defending champion hooper still down in seventh
24:06It's time to get serious of the strongman classic t-rex is on top
24:12But there's an array of past champions and future greats ready to challenge him for the title
24:18The action continues at the royal albert hall when we return on giants live
24:23Welcome back to london it's the strongman classic at the royal albert hall where the crowd are providing plenty of flex appeal of their own
24:40Crikey with more bicep build-up colin bryce and danny wallace
24:44Thank you, james. Yes, I am known for my biceps and it is the frame carry now 360 kilos. It's like carrying a motorbike and sidecar
24:55so far
24:57No one has completed the 20 meter course lucas hat has got closest with 17 and a quarter meters
25:02And next up the pairing of trey mitchell and matthias kilishkovsky you're quiet colin
25:11I just want to know what part of the world you're known for your biceps danny
25:15That's kilishkovsky gets away here
25:18Looking really strong my goodness me. I think we're gonna have a finisher here
25:22My gosh, it was over before it began. He nearly took the stage out
25:2811.09 seconds for the terminator kilishkovsky
25:34And trey mitchell shows how hard it is. He didn't get it off the line. You kidding me goodness me
25:42He's back with a bang
25:44Yeah, no kidding
25:46The canadian mitchell hooper then against
25:50south africa's reino nell
25:52This could be a quick one. That's for sure
25:54Hooper's brilliant at this
25:56But nell's pretty quick as well. Oh, I think he's gonna pip him. Oh
26:01Wow incredibly fast nails over the line
26:058.59 seconds is that a world record the arm is quicker than kilishkovsky but he slid it over the line
26:12Well at least when he tripped it's a slipper at least a meter and a half there
26:16Let's have a look at this again
26:18Does he give it a bit of a push?
26:20Yes
26:21He kind of leans against the front. He's been given a two-second penalty 10.59 then for nell
26:27Reino, let's first of all talk about the positive there
26:30That was unbelievably quick all the way across the line. Were you happy until you found out the result?
26:37Yeah, I think as soon as I dropped it, I did look to the referee
26:40So I expected it might be some backlash two seconds is a lot. Um, let's hope it's enough
26:46But still i'm in the lead. So let's just stay positive for now
26:49And what it does go to show is dynamically you're one of the fastest strongmen in the world
26:55Yeah, this is an event that I really enjoy
26:58So I think um
26:59It's something that I can work on still I think there's time to beat
27:02But yeah, I enjoy moving stuff and I think that's going to accumulate a lot of points for me in strongman competitions
27:08You're representing south africa beautifully. Keep it up my friend. Thank you so much. Really appreciate it
27:14The penultimate pair paddy haynes and jaco schoonwinkel
27:21Schoonwinkel on the far side also from south africa paddy haynes closest to us
27:27360 kilos no problem for paddy haynes. He's charging down here
27:32Incredibly close
27:34Impossible to call from where i'm seeing
27:369.61 for jaco schoonwinkel
27:389.66 for paddy haynes
27:41Oh wow
27:43Just a few hundredths of a second in it and schoonwinkel. I think it's a fair result. Well both men with radzi now
27:49Two men that have provided
27:54Unbelievable competition so far paddy and jaco paddy. I'll come to yourself first
27:58I reckon there was no more than a moustache in that one. It was very close
28:02I should have lunged with the moustache shouldn't I gone forever
28:04Now what a race that was it's the best thing you could ask for it's such a buzz going against someone as good as jaco as well
28:10Um, and just having a head-to-head like that. It makes you better
28:13Absolutely, right. Well get you going get ready. Thank you very much
28:16And jaco it was gun to tape so so exciting coming to the uk and performing like that when it counts
28:24Something I only dreamed of it's incredible to be here representing south africa. It's wonderful
28:30And you're performing wonderfully. Is it going to be enough to get you on the podium?
28:35I'm giving gonna give it my all for dex vince gonna give it my all
28:39And i sure hope so we can't wait to see it go well today
28:44The final pair
28:46America's nick guardian against america's evan singleton
28:50singleton on the far side guardian closest to us and
28:55Wow singleton great start even better in the middle section and over the line
29:00Very fast from evan singleton
29:039.13
29:05I was gonna say it's the fastest yet then again rain o'nell had that penalty, but
29:09I think he's number one here singleton
29:13That's a friendly gesture
29:16He's here for the win. Is he happy it's so hard to tell but he's won two events
29:20I've got he owned did a great job of pushing him
29:26And his first giant slide but singleton just too good there
29:30So t-rex on top again with just half a second separating evan schoonwinkel and haynes
29:37Rain o'nell left cursing his luck his two-second penalty moving him down to fifth
29:43With two events left to go singleton's lead is now a mighty five points over schoonwinkel
29:48Guardi on third but facing a battle for the podium with kiliskowski and haynes over to colin and danny for the penultimate event
29:57The axle deadlift next
30:00350 kilos how many times can you lift it in 60 seconds
30:04How many danny close to zero
30:09Close but mitchell hooper has managed seven and that's what our next strongman have to beat
30:19Close to zero I didn't say zero point zero
30:24So trey mitchell going it alone
30:26Yes, he was last in the previous event so uh has to go on his own here
30:33And I think we're going to see a little bit of a contrast the event the moving event where you barely fit into that frame
30:40This is where he'll come to his fore static lifting. He's a monster. He's like a forklift truck
30:47Just keep going can't he just grind them out
30:50He has 30 seconds to keep grinding as well on to seven
30:57He's equaled mitchell hooper and now he has bettered mitchell hooper
31:0320 seconds left
31:06This is such a horrible bar to lift on it's so thick there's no giving it there's no whip he's done nine can he do ten
31:13My goodness me we're into double figures and he's not even wearing a suit that's extraordinary lifting it really is
31:2410 reps for trey mitchell
31:28Fantastic result
31:31The deadlift suit just keeps you so tight and gives you so much in terms of compression and lift but he he chooses not to use it
31:38That's an immense amount of lifting he's done there
31:40So nick guardian and paddy haynes
31:50Paddy haynes closest to us guardian on the far side
31:54This guardian he gets away quicker. He's a great all-rounder but haynes this is his forte. He's a tremendous deadlifter
32:02I expect to see him up close to hooper anyway around the seven rep mark maybe a little bit more even
32:06But haynes manages five straight on to six
32:15Straight on to seven
32:18It's just to go ahead and hooper
32:22Could he put mitchell's 10 under pressure surely not no he's struggling to get the knife but i think he's got it
32:29Guardian getting Dave warner's help there
32:3415 seconds to go
32:36He didn't get the knife they didn't give it to him
32:39Didn't lock it out. It was a real battle and they're both spent
32:42Yes, guardian really struggling towards the end there
32:47Paddy haynes he had that rhythm didn't he
32:51That's a fair call. He's just not fully locked out has he
32:54Jacko Schoonwinkel and Evan Singleton are our final pair
33:03Singleton's been having a blast here
33:09You can feel the shake on the floor as these guys drop this
33:12This ancient building being shaken to its core by these giants both on four now on five
33:26It's not the prettiest deadlifter Schoonwinkel talking technique here he really bullies and attacks the weight
33:35Still looking aggressive after six he wants another
33:38Both men trying to work out what the other's going to do Schoonwinkel's decided enough's enough but singleton
33:44You want to at least equal hooper
33:48Can he lock it he gives the referee the look like come on
33:54Well, that's seven for singleton
33:57Six for schoonwinkel
33:59He wasn't giving up on that one. No way again. It was the face of pleasure with singleton. He just loves it
34:08Seven reps sees t-rex take third this time alongside mitchell hooper paddy haynes in second
34:14But taking the win with a mighty 10 reps the big thicket trey mitchell. He's with ratty
34:21Trey mitchell that was absolutely phenomenal
34:24But a question usually you have the one rep max as your eddie halls
34:27Then you have guys who are good for reps mark felix adam bishop you're both. How are you doing that?
34:32Uh, it's just practice so you know like i'll do one week where it's
34:37Light light for reps and the next week i'm pushing for the heavier weights
34:42So it's like basically trying to push uh both at the same time and building that base
34:46And then peaking for whichever competition i need the max you know i'll push that and then
34:51You know for competitions like giants live where it's more repetitions like i'll push the sets of reps
34:57Good to talk to you trey thanks for your time yeah no problem
35:00Trey moves up then to sixth place overall mitchell hooper to fifth while paddy haynes climbs into the podium positions
35:07But up top t-rex still dominates seven and a half points clear now
35:14Is he on course for a sixth giants live title standing between singleton and another honor other stones and some of the best stone lifters on the planet
35:24Our strongman classic finale when we return
35:34Welcome back to london it's been capital punishment for our strongmen so far at the royal albert hall a day that's pushed them to their limits
35:42Now for the finale of the strongman classic
35:46With just the castle stones to go evan singleton has a commanding lead but with t-rex you never know
35:52Schoonwinkel is second paddy haynes is third but facing a real challenge for the podium from the men behind him
35:58Both hooper and mitchell are exceptional stone lifters let's hear now from paddy with rad team
36:05Paddy haynes who knew that you were that good at the deadlift that was superb what has happened to you in the last 12 months
36:12Yeah, it's been a been a real wild journey to be honest
36:14I think since europe's getting on that podium against such a strong lineup like
36:18My confidence has just skyrocketed since that um and yeah just just believing that i can actually do stuff and i belong here
36:25As opposed to having imposter syndrome and thinking how the hell have i done this it's like
36:28I know i can hold my own on most events now and it's just just living the dream
36:32You're more than holding your own you're very much flying the flag for england
36:36It does feel like a little bit of a changing almost of the guard in that the veterans that's one thing
36:41But the stars are really shining now with the youngsters like yourself. Yeah, absolutely the new waves coming through
36:47I think that's very unavoidable now. I think we're pretty much here
36:50And there are so many good athletes now in england
36:53And yeah, I think i'm sort of leading the charge now, which is really really cool
36:57And just finally if you did shave off the tash does all the strength go
37:01I don't want to risk it. I mean, do you this is never going anywhere. I can't grow on me
37:05Oh
37:06So the castle stones
37:09The climax of this competition they get heavier and heavier up to 200 kilos. How many can you lift and place?
37:16In 60 seconds, here's who's gone so far
37:20Only mitchell hooper so far has failed to get all five
37:24But rayne o'nell has done it fastest
37:2624.46
37:30To bit
37:32Big moment then for paddy haynes
37:35As he takes on the official strongman games champion nick gardione
37:40When you think paddy after the log was down the bottom of the pile and he's clawed his way back up
37:45To a shot at the podium
37:48This is a massive moment for him. Oh my goodness me gardione messes up the first one
37:54Haynes is flying on the right hand side for great britain. Here we go number four
37:59Look how fast he's going as well 24.46 to beat
38:03He could win the stones
38:05Goodness me
38:07Certainly take the lead look at that
38:09Well five in 22.88 seconds. That's very fast from the brit paddy haynes
38:14Lending his encouragement now to nick gardione
38:21These stones are quite slippy and he just goofed up on the first platform and it slipped off
38:26That would have cost him not just time but energy
38:29And he's struggling to get under this stone
38:38That's slipping in his hips there
38:40He's not at all
38:40Oh goodness me
38:44Hopefully he hasn't uh smashed his face off that and uh
38:47Well done paddy haynes for taking the lead
38:51Just one pair to go
38:53I think that's cemented him on this podium
38:56I think so
38:57So our final pairing
39:01Jaco Schoenwinkel
39:03Evan Singleton
39:08I suppose we all have different ways of getting ourselves psyched up
39:12That's not one I'd choose
39:14It's not one we'd recommend
39:17Now it's uh
39:18Yeah
39:20What can you say
39:21Singleton is just a force of nature
39:24My goodness me
39:25The blood is flowing now
39:27As he pops the third one up
39:29And I'm not sure it's helped him as Jaco Schoenwinkel goes for four
39:32Schoenwinkel will make it onto the podium as well
39:37He won't be as quick as haynes but I think he's taken the silver
39:40All the same now then if Singleton really screws up here
39:45Could he lose his lead?
39:48I think the whole head butting the plinth and bleeding profusely idea
39:53Was on reflection of the stake
39:56No kidding and I think he's realizing that now as well
40:00Well, I think he's done four quicker than Gordione and Hooper quite that
40:05What that turns out to be in terms of points because he's done
40:09He hasn't done all five oh my goodness me has he grabbed the feet from the jaws of victory?
40:14Well, that's the question has he done enough or did he throw it all away
40:19In a moment of madness
40:22Oh my goodness me he's saying please please
40:25Oh he's done it!
40:26Goodness me
40:28Well, it was a moment of madness
40:30It could have cost him much more
40:32And Paddy Haynes
40:36Absolutely delighted
40:39They've met it's fine
40:43Terrific result then for Paddy Haynes who beats the superstar South African Nell
40:47Into second but down in ninth Singleton luckily beats three other men
40:51Evan Singleton moments before you go onto the podium and people at home don't necessarily know the journey that you've gone through
41:02What was the Evan Singleton now?
41:05Say to nine-year-old Evan Singleton growing up. I know it's hard. I know it seems like nobody cares
41:12That you matter you are good enough and you will be one of the best in the entire world
41:17Just keep working and don't give up and what does that mean to you to know that you are now one of the best?
41:23Everything this is i've dedicated my entire life to this title
41:27I will win world's strongest man
41:29I will go down in history as one of the best americans and best strongman that has ever graced this planet
41:35Evan well said congratulations you've done it mate
41:38Thank you
41:40Well, it's hard to argue with him
41:42Evan Singleton then wins the strongman classic 2025
41:48You've got to ask what's next
41:53I think anything's possible for this man
41:56And what a podium schoonwinkel paddy haynes and this man on top the american evan singleton
42:04winner again at the royal albert hall
42:06Which means well, there's just one thing left to do
42:14Colin i'd be honored if you would say the magic word
42:17montage time
42:19That's two words
42:29Oh
42:31Oh
42:33Oh
