00:00On Friday, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon Unifield handed over a cleared minefield to the Lebanese Armed Forces, LAF, during a ceremony held near the Blue Line in Bleda, southeast Lebanon.
00:14The action constitutes the first handover of a cleared minefield since 2024 hostilities.
00:20The mining work involved the removal of explosives scattered over nearly 2,000 square meters and took place from August until the beginning of December 2025.
00:31During the process, 393 mines were destroyed in coordination with the LAF.
00:37Let's recall that Unifield Peacekeeping Forces resumed humanitarian mining in southern Lebanon last summer at the request of the Lebanese government.
