00:00Leading with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, a Nebraska team that did not make the NCAA tournament last
00:07year, going 21-14, 7-13 in the Big Ten, good enough for 16th place out of an 18-team league.
00:16Playing really good basketball right now, sitting at 11-0, coming off a big-time 83-60 win at
00:23Illinois. Yes, I said that. 83-60 win in Champaign. So what has gone right for Fred Hoiberg? Fred Hoiberg
00:33has done a great job at Nebraska rebuilding his program. Remember, he did the same thing at Iowa
00:39State before he went to the NBA. Let's start with the ice rink. That's rink mast. This 24-year transfer
00:46from Bradley. Missed last year due to a knee injury, and he has been a good 17.9 points
00:53per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, three assists, shooting at about 54% from three, 43% from the
01:00line. This guy can score inside really smooth and a depth of amount of move. Not over the
01:04athletic, but really just wills you, outplays you, plays really hard. And you have to look
01:10at also the play of Bryce Sandiford. This guy is in his junior year. He's doubled his
01:16scoring output to 17.1 points per game at five rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 50% from the
01:23floor. Can Fred Hoiberg's team make the tournament? Remember, two years ago, folks, they made the
01:29NCAA tournament when they were in third place in the, obviously, Big Ten. Part of that was
01:36the play of masks before, obviously, missing the 24-25 season. But it's good to see that they're
01:42playing good basketball, and let's see if they can keep it up in a Big Ten. A Big Ten
01:47that after you go through, obviously, Purdue and Michigan State, you could say that Nebraska
01:55right now is the third best team in league. Speaking of teams that's overachieving, let's
02:02beat Hall in. And that's Seton Hall. Seton Hall, winners of four straight games, absolutely
02:08just won the Garden State battle versus Rutgers in an absolute blowout, holding Rutgers to,
02:14I think, 58 points. But they also have some good wins. They have NC State win by 11. They
02:20won at Kansas State. And honestly, they're a two or three-minute stretch away from beating
02:25USC and winning maybe the Maui Invitational. But it's interesting, the note of Seton Hall,
02:30a team that's predicted to come in last in the Big East. Why has that been a difference?
02:38You got to talk about A.J. Stanton McCray. The transfer is playing really great basketball.
02:4314.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, and 46% from the floor. Then you got to talk
02:49about Juwan Sipkins, giving you about 11 points per game and about 54% of the floor. And then
02:55there's a guy, the big man, Hines, who we call Baby Shaq. The Plainfield, New Jersey native
03:01has been an absolute force down low for Shaheen Holloway's team. And they were really playing
03:08really good basketball. And you got to think about this, right? Seton Hall was predicted
03:13to be last. Think about this. They were predicted to finish last in the Big East. And all Shaheen
03:17Holloway did is turn disrespect into fuel. And this is what elite motivation looks like.
03:24Shaheen Holloway is one of the best motivators in the country. And you can say right now, when
03:29you look at that Big East, right, and you look at UConn where they're at, Villanova's been pretty
03:35good. St. John's trying to figure it out. Creighton under a tree. Providence, they got problems,
03:43right? Don't even look at the bottom of the league. Can Georgetown up and down? Seton Hall right now,
03:50folks, is a top four team in the Big East. And if a top four team in the Big East, that means
03:58NCAA tournament. What a turnaround by Shaheen Holloway doing a masterful job at his alma mater.
