00:00How is that any of that all those things change anything scenario wise?
00:06For the NCAAs other than I'm I'm guessing from my you know
00:11Oh
00:12Narcissism that Indiana will be at least an 11 seed and get in the way
00:16They finished the season winning four or five and really having the refs screw them and Eugene with the 21 free throws
00:22They gave the Docs to their seven. They were up 61 60 when the refs started shafting them
00:27Oh
00:29well, I that's that's a lot to take in but I think that one of the things that it showed is
00:37that weekend that
00:38collection of games
00:40showed how precious the 6018 field is and how reckless and
00:46Foolish it would be to expand it beyond that
00:49Because if if you did Scott you would be getting, North Carolina in coming off a 1 and 11
00:56Record against quad one opponents. You would be getting Wake Forest in which hasn't beaten anybody good, and I can't remember how long
01:04You would be getting
01:06Nebraska in maybe that didn't honestly even qualify for the big big 10 tournament, right?
01:12They they were eliminated on the final day from the big 10 tournament
01:16Which went to Nebraska and did a great job played probably their best game of the year
01:20Because they wanted to be in the big 10 tournament. That was kind of an elimination game to get to Indy and
01:26The Hawkeyes got it and all that would go away if we expand this field anymore
01:31I've said this there are lots of reasons why I'm opposed to it
01:35but in all honesty
01:36I'm more worried about what it does to the regular season than what it does to the tournament because if you look at the tournament
01:44Those first two days those first four games. They're okay
01:47And if you want to watch them great, but if you don't want to watch them, it's fine, too
01:52Thursday at noon the the action that we've known for 35 years begins and
01:58That's the way it that's the way the tournament works best
02:01But if you take if you take an ad for or eight more teams into the field
02:07You make it so that teams that get in aren't great and everybody that gets in should be at least close to that
02:15So it just dilutes the product and they're letting in teams that wouldn't make it
02:21And obviously so I want to ask you just while we're on that same breath
02:26Would you expand the college football playoff have a problem with that from where it is?
02:33Because they've already talked about doing that. I don't want to change the basketball tournament at all
02:39But I don't really think they can stop the momentum of changing the football one to make it bigger
02:45I don't think they need to I mean, they've only had one year
02:49you don't know what whether you need to make it bigger, but they're only talking about adding two more teams and
02:55So I don't think it changes the dynamic much. I don't like the idea of multiple automatic bids for any conference
03:02I don't think that's wise
03:03I think that you get in if you win your league and
03:07Then we figure out from there how many how many teams you produce that were worthy and one of the things that's interesting
03:14about that is that
03:16The Big Ten and SEC which would ghost both get four teams
03:21guaranteed in the
03:23speculative plan
03:24there but there have been years when each of them would have had five and
03:28It's pretty clear that if they went to the auto the multiple automatic bid scenario that they wouldn't ever get five
03:35So I think that's a mistake
03:37But the taking it from 12 to 14. I don't think it adds anything. I don't think it takes that much away
03:43It's still going to be hard to get in for most teams
03:46and so there would still be that impetus at the end of the year to pay attention to
03:51Games that you never really cared about before because the winner was going to the Independence Bowl and the loser was probably going home
