00:00Woody Marks did not practice due to an injury.
00:04That's been the norm the last couple weeks.
00:07Nick Chubb back at practice limited with a rib injury,
00:09so that's the first time in a couple weeks that he's been back at practice limited.
00:13And then obviously Jawar Jordan signed to the 53-man roster this week.
00:16He's fully healthy and just had the best game that any running back has had
00:20for the Texans this season statistically this past week.
00:23So how are you going to use these guys this week, D'Amico?
00:25Whoever's at the running back position is all going to be first and foremost
00:28about our offensive line, our tight ends,
00:30and how we're blocking the line of scrimmage.
00:32Our backs, we know we got anybody who touches the football.
00:37They can be dynamic.
00:38They can make plays for us, but it's going to be about how we handle the front.
00:42And the Raiders have a really good defensive front.
00:44They do a great job of attacking, causing disruption in the run game.
00:48So it's going to be a talent to run the ball versus this Raiders defense.
00:52They are a better run defense than pass defense.
00:54They're a respectable run defense.
00:56But the problem is that I think they've been in a lot of situations this year
01:00where teams have pretty much said, yeah, we're running the ball now
01:04because we're up by 20.
01:05So they've been tested a lot.
01:08The key is getting to that point where you're running the ball all the time.
01:11But that's for a team in the Texans that wants to have the time of possession,
01:18that wants to grind clock, let your defense do its business and its work,
01:22the offensive line and then whichever running back is back there at any given time,
01:27this is not an easy test versus the Raiders just because they're a bad team.
01:32That might be the one area of the Raiders team that's actually respectable
01:35as their run defense.
01:36If I had to prioritize things, let's assume that all three running backs are healthy.
01:42And by three, I'm putting Daria aside for a second.
01:44The three running backs, Woody Marks, Nick Chubb, Jawar Jordan.
01:49I guess the first question would be, do we think all three, if they're all healthy
01:52or can play, do we think all three are on the active roster on Sunday?
01:56I think so.
01:58And I think that you get, if I were doing it, I think you get majority Woody Marks
02:05and then probably depending on how the game flow is, but about the same number snaps
02:12for Nick Chubb as Jawar Jordan.
02:14And some of the things that will factor into that is I do think they like Nick Chubb
02:18when they just want to be sure they're getting steady yardage, just three or four yards.
02:22And when they want to burn clock at the end of the game and all of that.
02:25Um, but depending on what the situations are, they want to, they want to see, they want
02:31to get jar jar Jordan involved because of his explosiveness, but also to get his feet
02:35wet.
02:35And, uh, you know, I think they've seen what he can do for them and let's be sure that
02:40down this stretch, you start to really be able to rely on them.
02:44I would like to see a couple of things.
02:46I would like to see if, if all three are going to be there, we know that the team really
02:50trust Woody Marks and Nick Chubb, Jawar Jordan's had one good game against the Cardinals.
02:54So we don't really know what the big, what the truck, if this were a playoff game,
02:58right.
02:59You know, like that.
03:00And, and so, you know, would they trust you are Jordan?
03:02So we don't know what the overall trust factor truly is with a fully healthy backfield or
03:06with a fully staffed backfield.
03:07I'll say, um, with Jawar Jordan, the, the things I would like to see, the biggest one
03:12would be Woody Marks, not having to carry the ball more than 10 or 12 times.
03:16Cause that's probably correlated to this being a Texans blowout.
03:19If Woody Marks is having to touch the ball 20 times, it probably means the Texans are in a
03:22dogfight in the fourth quarter with a team that doesn't, you know, he doesn't know it's
03:27a damn show.
03:27He thinks it's a damn fight.
03:28Like they said in Rocky, you know, so, um, so that would be number one for me.
03:32Number two, um, would be, I'd like to see them use Jawar Jordan kind of like in third
03:37down roll and see what he can do in the passing game, you know, see if there's some creative
03:40wrinkles they can make other teams think about using him.
03:43And especially on third and long, the past protection part of it becomes less of a factor
03:48because you know, teams know you're passing on third and long and you can, you can, you
03:53can spread them outside the formation or do whatever.
03:56Um, but that's a big difference between Woody Marks and Jawar Jordan.
04:00I would guess I haven't seen Jawar Jordan in past protection a lot.
04:02Um, but he's like Woody Marks is, is by rookie standards is good in past protection.

04:08That might've been what's been keeping Jawar Jordan on the practice squad for two years.
04:12So, uh, but you know, and then having, maybe having two running backs on the field.
04:17And if you can, if you can split Jawar Jordan out, et cetera, et cetera, um, that'd be the
04:22really interesting thing here.

04:24If you're trying to limit Woody Mark snaps because of his health.

04:27That's why then.
04:28And even if not, just because he's a smaller back, who's at a heavy workload and he's a
04:32rookie.
04:33If you can lessen the load a little bit, because you're going to, you're almost definitely going
04:38to be in the playoffs at this point.

04:40There's a lot of football left to be played.

04:42Um, here was, uh, here was the Woody Marks touchdown against Arizona on Sunday.
04:47This was the aborted snap that rolled back to Woody Marks.
04:51And he jumped into the end zone.
04:5230 goal at the one strata center and they snap it directly to Marks who runs in CJ got
04:58out of the way.
05:00Marks got the snap, got touchdown, razzle dazzle, the Texans score on third and short.

05:07I don't know, Mark, if that was on purpose.
05:09It went through the legs of CJ.
05:12Marks had to pick it up off the ground.

05:14That did not fly to him through the air.

05:18It was not a, it was not a trick play.
05:19However, Brian Baldinger in breaking this down on his, all these breakdowns says, Hey, maybe
05:24some teams should be thinking about this.
05:26Everybody's looking for ways to score from the one yard line.
05:30Eagles got the tush push.
05:31You got wildcat.
05:33And then you have this right here.
05:35Now I know this isn't a design play, but think about it.
05:38Like act like you're, you fumble the ball and it throws everybody off.
05:43And then Woody Marks takes off from the two right there and just flies into the end zone
05:48for a touchdown and a 17 nothing lead.
05:51It's not a bad little gimmick right there to do that.
05:56Okay.
05:58Does Baldinger know that it was a, I think he said, yeah, he said, I know this is unintentional,
06:03but he was suggesting that the thing about that play that is so weird and where you got
06:08so lucky was if you tried to do it intentionally, it would be too hard to pull off.

06:14We want you to skip the ball back or roll the ball back to the, to the running back.
06:19Try a hundred times.
06:20You wouldn't be able to do it as perfectly as it happens.
06:22The odds of that, like the center thinking that he's snapping to somebody a gun and then
06:28just not hitting any part of the center's hand, like quarterback's hands or anything.
06:31And it's skipping a lot or it did because it skipped along the ground and it actually
06:35get into the running back and him being able to execute the play.
06:38It was a very huge stroke of luck for the tech.
06:41One of the things that when, when they showed the replay, one of the things that I got not
06:45worried about, cause it didn't happen, but that what could have happened is man, you got
06:50a center that's getting ready.
06:51That's fire that thing back there with tremendous force.
06:54What if something happened to one of CJ's fingers on his throwing hand?
06:57Yeah.
06:58You know, like if, you know, Jake Andrews either on the follow through with Jake Andrews shotgunning
07:01it back there or the ball itself bending a finger back or something like that.
07:06Underratedly dangerous play right there for the, uh, the hands of CJ Stroud.
07:10Um, the other play that Baldy broke down, we just got done talking about Jawar Jordan.
07:14This, by the way, I think I got clarified that there's, there's rules against the fumble
07:17ruski, uh, the lower levels, but as far as intentionally fumbling the ball backwards,
07:22it's not, uh, a penalty there in the NFL.

07:25I was kind of curious about just the, yeah, it's just, are they allowed to snap the ball
07:29through the, through the, if there's a guy under center, you allowed to snap it through

10:45Taking up two spots and park like a full two feet past all the F three fifties and stuff
