00:00So, uh, Jawar Jordan got added to the 53-man roster yesterday.
00:04Yeah, look, D'Amico's been trying to play it close to the vest when asked about Jawar Jordan.
00:08He very much complimented him, but on Monday he said, you know, but let's, uh, let's just
00:12appreciate they did a good performance and we'll see what happens from here.
00:15Yeah.
00:16I think that Jawar Jordan, at this point, especially with the injuries to Woody Marks,
00:22multiple injuries to Woody Marks, Nick Chubb's injury that, um, that seems to be more serious,
00:28and, uh, the fact that Jawar Jordan had that game and you're going up against the Raiders.
00:33Not that, not that you'd factor in or that D'Amico is saying, well, yeah, we're going to
00:37beat these guys easily, but this is a very winnable game, obviously.
00:42And you've got an opportunity to get some reps in from Jawar Jordan to get his, get his feet
00:48even more wet in the NFL before the real, the real, you know, challenging stretch.
00:53This would be so much worse than if they'd lost to the Cardinals last weekend.
00:58Like this is, yeah, I know there's only a game that separates the Cardinals and the
01:02Raiders in the standings, but that the Cardinals team has been competitive for most of the year.
01:08They lost three bad games to division foes over the last month or so, but they were, when
01:13they were two and five, they were a lot like the Texas there.
01:16Well, they were three and five at one point cause they beat the Cowboys.
01:17The Texans and Cardinals had identical records and it wouldn't shock me if their point differential
01:22at that time were almost identical.
01:23They were a really competitive team and, and they, they, you know, I'm, they didn't hang
01:29around with the Texans on Sunday, but this, this game against the Raider, this is a, this
01:35is a bad football team.
01:36That's firing coaches.
01:37It's reeling right now that has quarterback issues.
01:40And look, some of the, every, every Raiders podcast that I've listened to is more about
01:46highlighting just how statistically bad they are.
01:49Yeah.
01:49A little bit of mock draft talk.
01:52So when is Pete Carroll going to get fired type of discussion?
01:55Yeah.
01:56They're not even bothering with the actual play on the field other than every now and
02:00then saying something nice about Brock Bowers.
02:01They are last in rushing.
02:04That's bad.
02:05We're also being worst in a total number of sacks.
02:10So they're, they're, they're last in rushing and they're first in sacks allowed quarterback
02:16gets murdered every week.
02:17Yeah.
02:17Uh, they're two tackles of the most sacks allowed in the, in a season.
02:22They're two offensive tackles are both in the top three.
02:26They've both allowed double digit sacks.
02:28Is this a get right game for Daniel Hunter and Will Anderson sack number?
02:31I, yeah, I think it very well might be other than that teams will do what, what the Cardinals
02:35did last week is they'll use a lot of seven man protection.
02:38They'll chip a lot.
02:39So I don't know.
02:41Um, I, I'm not, I refuse to learn the names of these offensive tackles.
02:45I, uh, I, I don't think we'll ever see them again after this season.
02:48You don't want to waste any NFL venue.
02:50Yeah.
02:51They're that bad.
02:52They're been over this eight game losing streak that they're on.
02:56The Raiders have been losing by an average of 15 points per game.
02:59Yeah.
02:59That's the thing.
03:00Like this is the, they're two and 12.
03:03The Cardinals are three and 11.
03:05The, this would be so much worse.
03:07This would be way more.
03:08If the Texans were to lose this game, this would be way worse than the one game difference
03:12between those two teams.
03:13This is a bad, this is the worst football team in the NFL.
03:16During this eight game win streak.
03:18They've had multiple instances of having 21 minutes time of possession or less just entire game.
03:25Yeah.
03:25For the, yeah.
03:26For the game.
03:26Yeah.
03:27Not through the first three quarters or something.
03:31Holy cow.
03:31Yeah.
03:32They possess the ball a third of the time in a lot of these games.
03:35They're, they're a really bad football team right now.
03:38And yet any given Sunday, any given Sunday, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
03:41Remember, uh, remember a few days before the draft a couple of years ago where you and
03:44I were actually having substantive debates about Tyree Wilson and Will Anderson.
03:49I have no memory of that.
03:50I don't even know what you're talking about.
03:53I was part of it.
03:54No, no.
03:55Yeah.
03:55And I was, I was in Tyree Wilson's boat until the week before the draft.
03:59Yeah.
03:59We got off the boat.
04:00I pivoted towards Will Anderson.
04:02We jumped off.
04:02We saw the SS Anderson sailing by and we said, rescue us.
04:06We were like that poop cruise where the other cruise ship sailed by and everybody's waving
04:10like the cruise where the power went out.
04:12Yeah.
04:12And then, and then like this party ship goes by and everybody's like, save us, save us.
04:16That was us.
04:17But we got saved.
04:18We got out.
04:18Will Anderson jumped in the water, swam over, grabbed the two of us and pulled us over to
04:22his ship as, as, uh, as Will Anderson would definitely do.
04:25He would definitely do.
04:26I say that because Tyree Wilson had six defensive snaps in the Raiders last game.
04:32He's become a situate.
04:34He, they're treating him.
04:35They're treating him like almost like a 36 year old who just signed or something, you
04:39know?
04:40Hey, we'll use you situationally.
04:42And I don't know.
04:43Again, the Raiders content right now is a whole lot of just misery.
04:46Uh, I've just, I've seen a lot of clips as I was looking through various Raiders, people's
04:51sites of Tyree Wilson getting destroyed on a run play.
04:54Uh, it's, et cetera.
04:56Defense snaps.
04:56They played the Eagles last week.
04:57They got blown out by the Eagles.
04:59I haven't even looked at the box score.
05:00I would bet that he only played six defensive snaps because the Eagles hardly had any third
05:05downs in the game.
05:06They were just eating.
05:07I bet.
05:07You know what I mean?
05:08Like they didn't get to third down because they were just in second and two and then first
05:12and 10 again.
05:13That's my guess.
05:14My box score.
05:15I'll do some box score forensics later.
05:17Uh, they had, okay.
05:18So this last week they had 20 minutes time of possession against the Eagles, against the
05:22Eagles, against Denver.
05:23They had 21 minutes time of possession, bad football team, man.
05:26Uh, they did voice it versus Cleveland.
05:28They were, they, they possessed the ball.
05:31Uh, but I see a whole lot of twenties.
05:33Oh my gosh.
05:34Going back to the Kansas city game.
05:35Yeah.
05:3617 minutes.
05:37Yeah.
05:37This is the worst.
05:39No, this is, this is the worst team in football.
05:41If you think about the other teams, look at, like, if you look at, cause some of it is,
05:46some of it is the, the Titans are bad, but they've got cam ward and he has a little
05:52bit of juice to him and they beat the Browns a couple of weeks.
05:54And the Titans have some really good individual players.
05:57Yes.
05:57Yes.
05:58Like the, like the Cleveland right now that, you know, the fans are watching them because
06:02Cleveland fans are because it's Shador Sanders.
06:05They have Geno Smith, a quarterback on a bloated contract.
06:09They traded for him and he stinks.
06:12And you know, it's like the other teams that are in that level of the standings.
06:15I can at least come up with some reason for like the jets, for example, they're bad.
06:20They got beaten by four touchdowns.
06:21They're all waiting for the multiple first round picks that they have in the upcoming
06:25draft.
06:25And there, I mean, it's bad enough that honestly, I don't, I can't remember a time where I've
06:29actually talked about how a team has been doing in time of possession over the, over
06:33the course of several games, because it's largely, it's kind of like a quarter of a passer rating.
06:39You don't really talk about it that much anymore, unless it's really good or really bad, but,
06:43but the time to illustrate just how thoroughly they've been dominated.
06:47They just, they've barely taken the field in a lot of these games.
06:51That's how bad they are.
06:52It's crazy.
06:53And yet any given Sunday, I will come up with reasons to fear the Raiders somehow, someway
06:58by the end of this week.
07:00If you're wondering how they got here, I'm looking at a tweet from football analysis,
07:05F ball analysis, YT, the Raiders had seven round, seven first round picks between 2019
07:12and 2023.
07:13So this is the end of the Gruden era and the beginning of whatever came after that.
07:19They use the seven first round picks.
07:21That's seven first round picks in five years.
07:23So they had, you know, they had, they had overloaded.
07:25They traded Khalil Mack.
07:26I think they got some extra picks from that.
07:28These are the guys they picked Seth.
07:30Cleland Farrell.
07:31Oh yeah.
07:32Josh Jacobs.
07:33Who's good.
07:33And he walked in free agency.
07:35And the Farrell one was one that was, it felt very much like an overdraft.
07:38It was a fourth overall pick.
07:40And that's the only thing with the Raiders, like in any given draft, you know, when you
07:42accuse a team of drafting somebody way above where they're slotted, you never know for
07:46sure, because like, you know, who knows how many teams had a guy certain, but the Raiders
07:51have done it so consistently that it's just like, okay, they can't be better than the group
07:56think that like smarter than the consensus that often when you're, when you're, when
08:01you're different from the consensus that often you're either a genius or you're an
08:05idiot.
08:05He wasn't even the best guy at Clemson where he came from Cleland Farrell, Josh Jacobs,
08:10good player.
08:11But he said, I'm, I'm out of here.
08:12He left in free agency.
08:14Jonathan Abram bust Henry rugs.
08:16I mean, bust to the nth degree, Damon Arnett, Texans legend, Alex Leatherwood and Tyree
08:24Wilson.
08:24That is how you get to be two and 12.
08:26Alex Leatherwood is a hell of a name though.
08:28I give him credit for that.
08:29It sounds like a Raiders name, doesn't it?
08:31Great name.
08:31Yeah.
08:31Yeah.
08:32It's a great name.
08:32So, so this is whatever we were saying about two of the manliest things you can do is in
08:38your off time.
08:39I am a leather worker or I'm a, I'm a, I'm a woodworker.
08:43I do, I, I build custom furniture in my spare time.
08:46Yes.
08:46The greatest name ever was Notre Dame linebacker, Michael Stonebreaker.
08:50Yeah.
08:51That's a good name.
08:51I mean, if you're Stonebreaker, Youngblood's always a good name.
08:53Youngblood's a great name.
08:54I was always jealous of anybody named Youngblood.
08:55Youngblood is a great name as well.
08:58So yeah.
08:58So that's, so they got to take care of business this weekend, man.
09:01And you know who else needs to take care of business?
09:03The Denver Broncos this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
09:06Yeah.
09:07Cause all of a sudden division is on the line this week.
09:09Yeah.
09:09Trevor Lawrence, after beating up on the likes of the Titans and lamb killer.
09:13And the Jets all of a sudden is, Hey, everything's really clicking and falling into place for
09:18Trevor Lawrence.
09:19You beat the Jets real soundly.
09:21Good for you.
09:22That's the only thing that's, there's not much drama left in the AFC.
09:25I'm looking at the playoff percentages, the playoff picture.
09:28The only drama that's really left is will the Texans win the AFC South or the Jags?
09:35Cause it looks like both are going to make the playoffs.
09:37The Jags are greater than 99% to be in the post season.
09:40Right.
09:40The Texans are at 97%.
09:42So both of those teams barring a disaster should be in the plus.
09:47I guess that's something to watch is, you know, any of these teams has a monumental collapse
09:51down the stretch, but the schedules for Jacksonville and the Texans are just so easy.
09:54And then I guess the other bit of drama would be who's going to win the AFC North and get
09:58the four seed.
09:59Right.
09:59The AFC North.
10:00If you haven't been following is basically what the AFC South has been for the last 10 years,
10:04which is, all right, well, I guess this division has to send somebody to the playoffs.
10:08The NFC South.
10:09Yeah.
10:10Yeah.
10:10The, um, I, well, no, yeah.
10:13I think the AFC South for the most part is usually at least has one genuinely good team.
10:17Right.
10:17But it's an easy division to win a lot of the time.
10:19Yeah.
10:20Whereas the NFC South is just, there's, there's a lot of years where like, all right, all right,
10:24I guess.
10:25Every year.
10:25And this is the rare year for the AFC North where it's like that, where the Steelers are
10:30eight and six and they're winning the division.
10:32Right.
10:32If the tech, according to the athletics playoff predictor, if the Texans win out, they've
10:37got a 75% chance of winning the division.
10:39Okay.
10:40Yeah.
10:40That's because they went out.
10:43Then it just goes, then you're just looking at Jacksonville going, okay, what are the
10:45chances?
10:46Jacksonville loses a game down the stretch.
10:48Cause any losing to any, because Jacksonville plays Denver, Indy and Tennessee, and it doesn't
10:54matter which of the teams they lose.
10:55If the Texans went out and go 12 and five, it doesn't matter which team Jacksonville loses
11:00to, they will lose the tiebreaker to the Texans at 12 and five.
11:04If now this is the interesting thing, according to the athletic playoff predictor, if the Texans
11:09win, is this, tell me if this sounds right.
11:12You do, you do this math stuff in your head much better than me.
11:14Yeah.
11:15Um, the playoff math.
11:16Yep.
11:16If the Texans went out and the Broncos beat the Jaguars, the Texans have a 99% chance
11:24of winning the wildcard.
11:25Yeah.
11:25Or of, of the 99% chance of making the division.
11:29Yeah.
11:29That, that sounds right.
11:30Yeah.
11:30That sounds right.
11:31Because the Texans would have, uh, well, I don't, 99%.
11:35I don't know.
11:36I mean, that's, I don't know that that's given the chargers enough credit that they, you
11:40know, that the, that the chargers could beat the Texans.
11:41Well, but that, but no, because that makes sense.
11:43Cause then if the Texans went out, if the Texans went out, then they've got an equal record.
11:46The Texans went out.
11:47No, no, no.
11:48I messed up.
11:48As long as the Jaguars lose to the Broncos and they have a tiebreaker.
11:51Yeah.
11:52Yeah.
11:52It's guaranteed.
11:52So it's greater than 99%.
11:55Yeah.
11:55No, they, yeah, that would be if the Texans went out and the, yeah, that's all that has
12:00to happen.
12:00That's all they have to do.
12:00That's all they have to do.
12:01A 99% is, is short.
12:03It's actually a hundred percent.
12:05It says greater than 99%.
12:06Yeah.
12:06Yeah.
12:06Yeah.
12:06It's actually a hundred percent.
12:07Okay.
12:07So that's all the Texans have to do is win out and the Broncos have to take care of business.
12:11You got to simplify these things for me.
12:12Okay.
12:13Why would simplify it even more?
12:14The Jags just have to lose a game, but I think the Broncos are the best chance.
12:17The Texans have to win out.
12:18They have to win out.
12:19Yeah.
12:19Yeah.
12:19Yeah.
12:19But on the Jags.
12:20I know, but I want to cinch it.
12:21I want to cinch at least the path this week.
12:24Yeah.
12:24Yeah.
12:24Yeah.
12:24Yeah.
12:25If the Broncos win this week.
12:26Control your own destiny.
12:27And the Texans win.
12:28Then all you have to do is win two more games and you win the division.
12:30That's correct.
12:31Yep.
12:31That's correct.
12:34It's going to be fun, man.
12:35These are not conversations we were having four weeks ago.
12:37The Broncos and the Jaguars play.
12:40That's going to be a late afternoon.
12:413.05.
12:42So we'll be playing simultaneously.
12:44Yeah.
12:44They start 20 minutes before the Texans and the Raiders start.
12:47No scoreboard watching it.
12:49If there's one thing I know about D'Amico, he will not be asking for updates about the
12:52Jaguars score.
12:52They'll have to not pay.
12:53Well, they'll be giving updates on the jumbo truck.
12:55Yeah.
12:55He's not looking at that.
12:56They better put earplugs in or something.
12:57Sean, I've been watching games in that building for over 20 years and I still don't know
13:01where to look for the other stuff other than, other than the actual play clock and stuff
13:05like that.
13:06I don't have a clue where to look in the stadium for that.
13:08Oh man.
13:0897% the Texans.
13:11So we'll bring that.
13:12I'm sure Nick Casario is sitting at his desk right now playing with the, the athletic
13:16simulator.
13:18I told him to, I told him to get a subscription to the athletic and just start looking at that
13:22stuff.
13:23I'll tell you the one thing, like turning a GM onto some sort of app that could distract
13:26them or whatever.
13:27John Harris and I went to lunch with Daryl Morey at the early part of our radio careers.
13:31And we got him hooked on sparkle.
13:33You ever play sport?
13:34Yeah.
13:34Yeah.
13:34We got him hooked on that.
13:36He was a, he was not too happy with us.
13:38It was very distracting.
13:39Oh really?
13:39Yeah.
13:40Yeah.
13:40Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:41Yeah.
13:41Yeah.
13:51Yeah.
13:51Yeah.
