00:13According to Netflix's internal measurement, the hit show racked up 286.79 million hours of viewing time worldwide from May 25th to May 27th.
00:23That blows past the previous record holder, Season 2 of Bridgerton, which had 193 million hours of watch time over its opening weekend in March.
00:31Volume 1 of Stranger Things Season 4 premiered almost three years after the previous installment.
00:37Volume 2 is set to be released in July.

00:45As for why fans have to wait to watch the final two episodes of the penultimate season,
00:50executive producer Sean Levy told The Hollywood Reporter,
00:53We didn't think nine episodes were going to be ready in time, and we have made the world wait long enough.

00:59We always knew that if we could deliver the first seven, it's such a satisfying breaking point and payoff moment that it'll keep people fed for enough weeks so we can finish up Volume 2.
