00:00A quick one here, Joe.
00:01The NBA Cup, Spurs, and the Knicks tonight.
00:03Knicks a slight favorite at minus two and a half,
00:04despite the public seemingly being on the San Antonio Spurs.
00:07Joe, give me a quick spread line for Spurs-Knicks tonight.
00:11You nailed it, Donnie.
00:12Public is all over the Spurs,
00:14only the line appears to be growing for the Knicks.
00:18Keep an eye on that total as well, Donnie.
00:21That appears to be getting a ton of love in the market this morning.
00:24Joe gave you the Steelers last night.
00:26I gave you the Utah Jazz outright in overtime last night.
00:30We'll be back for more Hot Top.
00:31You wanted scoring in the association, you got it.
00:34You wanted an underdog to play well in elevation, you got that as well.
00:38Best bet last night, winner on the show for me,
00:40was the Utah Jazz getting two and a half points from the Dallas Mavericks,
00:43winning that game outright, 140 to 133.
00:47Now we look at the Jazz and say 140 is a lot.
00:50How much is 40 itself?
00:51Cooper Flagg dropped 42 points last night as an 18-year-old.
00:55And you see that tweet on the screen there.
00:5718-year-olds in NBA history with a 40-point game.
01:00Cooper Flagg, end of list.
01:0218 years old, beaten up on grown men, Joe.
01:06Yeah, I mean, unbelievable, Donnie.
01:09And signs, we've seen this, right?
01:11I mean, we saw this when he played with the Olympic team
01:14and was practicing with the Kawhi Leonards of the world, right?
01:17And he was basically dominating.
01:19So we all knew he had the talent and it was just a matter of time this year.
01:25He started out slow, but don't forget, they were asking him to play point guard
01:29because they didn't have anybody healthy.
01:31Kyrie's still not there.
01:32They have figured some things out there in Dallas and now look at him, man.
01:36And get ready for this.
01:38Between Cooper Flagg, Victor Webayama, yeah, I got to tell you,
01:43the NBA, the next generation of stars are very much alive and well here this season.
01:48No, it certainly is.
01:49How about alive and well?
01:50Some of the pay for the NBA Cup, the teams and the players who play in it.
01:54Now, if you are a superstar with a ton of money, money is money.
01:57You want to make it here.
01:58How about the players who win the championship get $530,000 here?
02:03If you do lose the championship game, it's 2-12 a man right here.
02:06Not bad work.
02:07And when you understand some of these guys making 40, 50, and $60 million a year,
02:11maybe it's a drop in the bucket, Joe.
02:12But those guys hanging on at the end of that bench right there,
02:16basically doubling their salary, it feels like, as a young rookie
02:20or just a guy that's on a 10-day contract, that's fantastic money, man.
02:24Show up winning.
02:25You might not even get in the game and get an extra $530,000 in your pocket.
02:28Not too shabby.
02:30No, you can't go wrong there, Donnie.
02:32Although, you know, the six-man on a NBA bench, I feel, still makes $12 to $15 million a year,
02:38which is still kind of laughable here.
02:41So, but yes, not, you know, a lot of guys there could certainly use the money there.
02:45Some of those guys, like you said, scratching and clawing their way on the team.
02:50But ultimately, I don't know how many of those guys we're going to see on the court here tonight
02:54between the Spurs and the Knicks.
02:57It feels like a lot of those guys are going to be locked up for a very, very long time on these teams.
03:02Get a Lambo at that point, man.
03:04Hey, man, won that cup championship, spent my $530,000 on a Lambo here,
03:09drive around the corner, have some fun.
03:10And surely, a lot of that money might go to tipping tonight, whoever wins,
03:14because there will be a party at a certain, you know, strip resort, I would assume, in Las Vegas.
03:19So, a lot of fun to be had.
03:21But there is a game tonight, Joe.
03:22It is the NBA Cup final.
03:23It is the Spurs.
03:23It is the Knicks, as the Knicks, a two-and-a-half point favorite over the Spurs,
03:27and a total, which was at 227-and-a-half as the look-ahead line, Joe.
03:32Now we're seeing 232-and-a-halves to 233-and-a-halves on the live number.
03:37People betting that over tonight in the Cup final between the Spurs and the Knicks.
03:42A lot of money towards the over, which is interesting,
03:45because over the last couple of weeks, the Knicks have been top five in defensive efficiency.
03:52They're actually really starting to defend here in a big, big way, which, listen,
03:58we remember Thibs, right?
04:00His years there with the Knicks.
04:02He, you know, from game one to this point in the season,
04:05he probably already burned out half his guys.
04:07But not so much with Mike Brown right now.
04:09They're really starting to show up and show out.
04:13And in this game, call me crazy, Donnie,
04:15but, man, watching all the clips and the tape out,
04:19San Antonio celebrated like they won the NBA championship after that win against OKC.
04:25Not to mention, Victor Webayama is going to be on a minutes restriction here.
04:29I mean, this is nice, but he only played 21 minutes, 22 minutes in that game there.
04:35You know, it feels like the Knicks stars are going to be on that court a lot longer than Webayama is going to be.
04:42So it feels like big advantage to the New York Knicks,
04:45but the public loves themselves some San Antonio Spurs right now.
04:50Oh, they do.
04:51Take a look at some of those player points props in this game tonight.
04:53Victor Webayama, 21 and a half.
04:56You take a look at the Aaron Foxes at 20 and a half for the New York Knicks.
04:59Jalen Brunson, 30 and a half.
05:01Carl Anthony Towns at 20 and a half.
05:03Points are expected tonight, Joe.
05:05Usually as a superstar-driven sport,
05:07specifically in the biggest moments, like the final of the NBA Cup.
05:11If you're looking at some of those player prop points bets here tonight, Joe,
05:13does any one of those get your attention?
05:17Well, just for perspective, Brunson's averaging 36 a game ever since Miles McBride went down,
05:23and he's still not available to them.
05:25So, you know, he has been an unstoppable force, and you've got some young guys.
05:31I mean, Steven Castle has been tremendous, but Brunson's going to eat him alive in this game here.
05:36So, the fact that if I can get Brunson six points under what he's already averaging in a big game,
05:42you know he's going to show up tonight and show out.
05:45I got no problem backing Brunson over his point prop.
05:48Taking a look at some of those rebound props tonight.
05:51You know the guys get after it on the boards.
05:52Webanyama, 10 and a half at a plus 108 price.
05:55The other big man across there, Carl Anthony Towns, he also is listed at 10 and a half at a 138 price.
06:00I like this game as a bye-bye-bye measure, Joe, on a certain side, which we'll give it a little bit later in the show.
06:06But you should get some entertainment.
06:07You should get some fun.
06:08It's a big game atmosphere there in Vegas.
06:10And also, the NBA understands that they want to push this NBA Cup, which I don't really care about it.
06:15But the final, I do, once you get there, I just don't know how you actually get there, the mathematics involved.
06:19But here we are with the San Antonio Spurs and the Knicks.
06:21Only one game tonight, Joe.
06:23It is the NBA Cup, so all eyes will be on attention there tonight, 8.30 p.m. start.
06:27Yeah, which means you're going to get a ton of public money here.
06:31And like I said, tickets and money we've already seen on San Antonio.
06:36The line is frozen right at two and a half, Donnie, for the Knicks.
06:39But every metric I know of points to the New York Knicks.
06:44And maybe the biggest one is experience.
06:47And, you know, the Knicks have been here and done this before.
06:49The Knicks, when they beat Orlando in the semifinal, Donnie, it looked like another,
06:55okay, we won a game on a, you know, just a regular season, went great.
06:59It was business as usual.
07:01San Antonio, for as young as they are, as talented as they are, okay, can you get up for a second game
07:08as much as you were for that OKC game?
07:11We shall find out.
07:12No, we certainly will.
07:13And by the way, some of those fun markets, you can bet on like the first basket.
07:16It's sort of like doubling up, you just say, in the NFL in a touchdown prop.
07:20Hey, take two plus money guys, get the plus money if one of them hits.
07:22Victor Webanyama, plus 430 to score the first basket.
07:26Jalen Brunson, 6-1 price to score the first basket, Joe.
07:29That's where I'm going.
07:30If you had a first basket scorer tonight, Joe, who are you going with?
07:34OG Ananobi, 12-1?
07:35You going a little bit down that list?
07:38Oh, Miles McBride.
07:40I'm sorry, Mikael Bridges.
07:41That's who I'm going with.
07:42Mikael Bridges.
07:43You're the guy from deep.
07:44Nobody scores for eight minutes there.
07:46You come off the bench, get that first 2-0 leader.
07:48That's got to be a big time payday, people.
07:50For me, I'm going to go to the NBA Cup Final, and how about this?
07:53The Spurs getting 60% of the tickets, which means the Knicks only about 40%.
07:57That line opened up at 2-1⁄2, still sits at 2-1⁄2.
08:00The Knicks, minus 2-1⁄2 tonight.
08:02Louisville and the Knicks, what a combination.
08:05Just like your boy DRS and Joe Ranieri.
08:06We'll be back at it early tomorrow morning.
08:08Make sure you join us.
