European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said European leaders are seeing “real and concrete progress” after a high-level meeting in Berlin aimed at supporting peace talks between U.S. and Ukrainian negotiators.
Speaking after the meeting, von der Leyen highlighted growing European backing for diplomatic efforts as discussions continue on ending the war in Ukraine. The Berlin talks brought together key European leaders seeking to reinforce coordination with Washington and Kyiv amid ongoing negotiations.

00:00It was a good meeting tonight in Berlin because we are seeing real and concrete progress.
00:05That progress is made possible thanks to the alignment between Ukraine, Europe and the United States.
00:12So we will continue working closely with President Zelensky and President Trump to achieve what we all want.
00:18A just and lasting peace that preserves Ukraine's sovereignty and strengthens its security.
00:25Our approach is clear and we work on every step that will ultimately put an end to the bloodshed.
00:32The first step is a lasting ceasefire.
00:34The path to get there is known.
00:36Russia must feel sustained pressure to come to the negotiation table.
00:40Not for show, but for results.
00:42And to this end, Europe will continue to raise the costs of Russia's war.
00:46We have a new sanctions package in preparation and we have immobilized Russian assets in the European Union over the long term.
00:53Second, peace requires robust and credible security guarantees.
00:59I welcome that the United States is positively considering to provide military support to Ukraine.
01:06And so is Europe to strengthen Ukraine's armed forces, to defend Ukraine's territory and deter future attacks.
01:14Finally, one of the strongest long-term guarantees is also the clearest one.
01:18It's Ukraine's path into the European Union.
01:22These security guarantees must be underpinned by firm principles.
01:26We will respect the decisions Ukraine makes for itself.
01:29Decisions on territories are for Ukraine to take and Ukraine alone.
01:33Likewise, issues affecting the European Union and NATO will be discussed among the European Union and NATO members.
01:40In short, nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, nothing about the European Union without the European Union, nothing about NATO without NATO.
01:50My third point is on economic recovery.
01:53Ukraine's needs are both immense and urgent.
01:57We are committed to the reconstruction and the future prosperity of Ukraine.
02:02Europe will remain its strongest and most reliable partner.
02:06We have proposed to cover two-thirds of Ukraine's financing needs for the next two years, around 90 billion euros.
02:14So the discussion this week at the European Council will be decisive.
02:20We know that we will never be able to match the sacrifice of the Ukrainian people.
02:24But we will support their fight for survival for as long as it takes, for their country, their territory and their right to live free from fear.
02:3234 years ago, this month, Ukrainians voted overwhelmingly for independence from Russia.
02:40They voted yes to Ukraine, being Ukraine.
02:43That choice remains unbroken.
02:45The Ukrainians defend it every day, admirably, on the battlefield.
02:51They deserve a peace worthy of their courage.
03:02Tosite for all five years after the Soviet Union.
03:06The Arctic Republic of Russia.
03:07I plan to meet your people for other countries.
03:08Theüzik Heart.
03:11The Arctic Republic of Russia.
03:12It's a pleasure to support your princess depuis America's name.
03:17I plan to meet the Atlantic Peninsula.
03:21Check out thoughts and transmission issues from Russia after the 다음 ini.
03:23When we watch такаяahoye.
03:26We can meet people at about 8200th time.
