Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he warned the United States during talks that the conflict in Ukraine must be stopped, or Kyiv risks losing the country entirely.
Speaking about discussions with the US side, Lukashenko said he advised that continued fighting would only worsen Ukraine’s position. “The conflict must be stopped, otherwise you will lose Ukraine,” he said, describing the message he claims to have delivered during the talks.
Lukashenko, a close ally of Russia, has frequently commented on the war in Ukraine, often criticising Western involvement and calling for negotiations. His remarks come as fighting continues and diplomatic efforts remain stalled, with deep divisions between Moscow, Kyiv and Western allies.
