00:00Old Dior should have nothing to be glum about over the weekend as Disney's late
00:05summer family film Christopher Robin is expected to make a domestic debut at the
00:09box office in the high $20 to $30 million range. Christopher Robin's biggest
00:13competition will be Paramount holdover Mission Impossible Fallout, which debuted
00:17to a strong $61.2 million last weekend. If the Tom Cruise movie falls 50% or less
00:22in its sophomore outing, it could best Christopher Robin, which was inspired by
00:26the classic children's tale Winnie the Pooh. Disney's live-action CGI movie directed by
00:30Mark Forster stars Ewan McGregor as an overworked and stressed-out adult
00:34Christopher Robin who has lost touch with his imagination. All that changes when his
00:37childhood friends Winnie, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and the rest of the gang magically emerge
00:42from the Hundred Acre Wood. Hailey Atwell, Bronte Carmichael and Mark Gattis star
00:46opposite McGregor, while the voice cast includes Jim Cummings, Brad Garrett, Toby
00:50Jones, Nick Muhammad, Peter Capaldi and Sophie Okonedo. Several other films opened
00:55nationwide this weekend, including Lionsgate and imagines a spy who dumped me,
00:59starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon. The R-rated comedy is pacing to open in the low
01:03to mid-teens as the spy genre continues to be challenging at the box office. The story
01:07follows two friends who become entangled in an international conspiracy when one of the
01:11women discovers that her ex-boyfriend is a spy. The cast also includes Justin Theroux,
01:15Gillian Anderson and Hasan Minhaj. For the first time since Deadpool 2 dropped in mid-May,
01:20Fox enters the fray with young adult film adaptation The Darkest Minds directed by
01:23Jennifer Yu Nelson, the acclaimed director of the last two Kung Fu Panda movies. The story
01:28follows a group of teens who mysteriously develop new abilities and are detained and
01:32declared a threat by the government. Sixteen-year-old Ruby, played by a man
01:36Lestenberg, escapes and joins a growing resistance of other teens. The fourth movie
01:40opening nationwide is the pro-Trump film Death of a Nation from controversial
01:43conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, who was pardoned earlier this year by President
01:47Donald Trump after pleading guilty to violating campaign finance laws. Predictions are tough, as the
01:53Dock is only opening in 1,002 locations, far fewer than the other releases, but Death of a Nation
01:58presently has a zero percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, with six reviews posted. To read more
