00:00I'll tell you what's happening to me right now as far as I can feel it, right, it's just this
00:10I am going to really fight today the I want to own it and I love it so I'm going to buy it
00:18relevant to nice little earner. Once it gets through your gates you might not want to get
00:24out I don't need lucky coming out I'm Henry Cole that is comfy and along with fellow
00:32fanatic Fuzz Townsend that's a magnificent pair of choppers up there we're back on the
00:37hunt for vintage treasures in the nation sheds we're gonna buy them fix them that is fantastic
00:45and sell them for a tidy profit welcome to shed and buried
00:54we're off to Southend in Essex
01:02we are going to revisit Graham I know I don't know that as I recall was a fantastic shed
01:09that's why we're revisiting mate yeah do you know what I mean because he changes his stock more than
01:14he changes his shirt yeah that's good and there's plenty of opportunities he's mainly he's told me
01:21yeah the reason why we're going back is because he's got rid of a lot of the cars okay and he's
01:27getting more and more involved in motorcycle sales excellent I seem to recall he had a thing for um he had
01:34a thing for Hondas didn't he oh yeah yeah he did yeah he had one of those tents full of Hondas that's
01:40right he didn't want to let any of his Hondas go that's okay there's gonna be plenty of other stuff yeah
01:45whether we do manage to get a hand on his Hondas or whether he repels all borders
01:53who knows but Southend here we come
01:55your collection just gets bigger and bigger yeah yeah he's sort of moving towards the motorcycles more
02:05in your yeah in your old age yeah going back to me youth oh yeah just selling stuff that I was
02:10selling 30 years ago really I seem to remember you like uh you like collecting Hondas now are you
02:16letting any of those go yet those sort of like 60s and 70s oh no I didn't think so don't be like that
02:21come on really lovely find so you might be able to twist your arm yeah you're smaller than me yeah yeah
02:28you're right he isn't no that's right so there's a few things that are out of bounds yeah but we
02:34might be able to persuade you on on a lot of yeah yeah yeah 75 percent of it yeah oh okay that's cool
02:41all right sounds great sounds great but uh oh I just can't wait to get here shall we just get here
02:45yeah come on shall we just get here well thank you I'm taking your tea with me happy days I'll see you in a bit you let me know yeah
02:52a bit all right mate go on then brum brum it ain't just a shed it's a cavern ram packed full of automotive
03:05treasure isn't this a US spec oh probably because there's the reflectors here oh right look I've got
03:15to tell you mate these Z650s they were always the poor man's Z1 but I've got to tell you man over
03:22these last few years they're coming of age the Kawasaki Z650 was an air-cooled 120 mile an hour
03:33pocket rocket which those smaller than the Z1 never had an inferiority complex it was a big hit in the
03:41US oh just something quite sort of individual about them well you know I didn't used to like the American
03:50spec bars I didn't used to like high bars but now I'm getting that little bit older I like to be a
03:56tiny bit more upright hey look mate high bars and electric start as the future yes okay because it
04:03ain't gonna get any better baby yeah that's true I'm not suddenly gonna grow a new leg that actually
04:10kicks things that's not gonna happen right no and even if you get a new knee it's gonna absolutely mess it
04:16which is decomposing yeah okay so what we've got to do is identify the bikes that will see us through
04:22into our 80s well this is electric start yeah this is definitely one for something from the same period
04:30that's a little less powerful but just as refined he's got a parakeet yellow Honda 4004 isn't that just
04:40utterly stunning it is that's a beautiful bike and a great layout a great format four cylinders for me
04:48is really the pinnacle when it comes to a bike at least four gives you that smoothness and gives you
04:55that power even out of a 400 yeah what a brilliant piece of engineering that is the major problem with
05:01these is the bank of four carburetors yeah once they're cleaned and beautifully sorted out yeah then
05:07they'll just run forever he'll ride that Scotland now if the carbs were done Graham's collection is
05:14not exclusively Japanese he's got a Ducati Paso a yellow Triton and a nice-looking Harley but it's
05:24the Japanese bikes that we keep on coming back to because they bring back so many memories I used to
05:32have one of these until guy wrote it off by hitting a tree when I was at school yeah this is a it's a
05:38lovely thing so hold on what DT 400 yeah yeah what age are we looking at here 70s yeah you know so
05:45yeah 74 75 yeah why is it not on its stand why is it leaning up against something perhaps there's
05:51something wrong with it but I've got to tell you man these things if they're not set up right oh here
05:55we go yeah look what oh that's broken yeah all right well if they're not set up right they're
06:02really difficult to start these things yeah oh my god now these are a formidable looking bike no
06:14please let me just take it in so my favorite bike of all time I have two of these at home GSXR 750
06:21probably the superbike that changed the world
06:25introduced in 1985 the GSXR 750 revolutionized motorcycling a production bike which was almost
06:37identical to Suzuki's race bikes it was fast light and rode as beautifully as it looked this thing won
06:47everything when it came out it was a total game changer like the 750 Honda in 68 in 85 this came
06:54out and changed the world this is on a C but this isn't a British paint job can I just tell you there's
07:01a fuel gauge that is a Japanese import well in that case it's 54,000 kilometres yeah so what's that 30,000
07:09miles 35,000 yeah I mean it's still quite a lot of mileage but at the same time it's got a
07:13Yoshimura exhaust pipe and it's got a Japanese original colour scheme that is very very rare
07:19here there's something about it that's that I think is great it could take a bit of detailing and yeah
07:25it could take a bit of rest though as well but with careful detailing you've got a very original bike
07:32here yeah and with that you've got value I think in the future I like it a lot okay we've got a bit of a
07:40knocked up fairing so it looks like it yeah we've got issues there's a lot of issues actually fairing
07:46wise there's a big crack here that's a shame man I think it's been sideways I think it's been sideways
07:51I think it's been on the floor as well yeah so a thoroughbred but one that's got obvious issues
07:58and for something even bigger and equally iconic you couldn't get better than this huge Honda
08:05CBX six-cylinder yeah this is the Z model but they are a monster of a bike aren't they they are six
08:13cylinders on a bike yeah is an incredible feat really and rare yeah once this is running oh my
08:21god the smoothness of the engine is a delight the power delivery yeah is divine is this a Henry bike or is
08:28it uh SPQR it's a Henry bike yeah we do need to find ourselves a nice little earner though so is it gonna be a
08:37Kawasaki a Honda a Suzuki or even I'll tell you what looking at that F7 that is lovely it looks good enough to be in
08:47somebody's collection doesn't it yes yeah okay so look we've got the F7 750 we've got the slab side
08:52out there we've got the yellow 404 yeah should we go and see yeah okay let's get some prices you never
08:59know might be able to afford more than you know do you know what I even thought about buying the Ducati
09:10Passo that's how confused I really I really don't know where to start yeah so the thing that has
09:17caught my eye is that little Honda 404 the yellow one oh yeah yeah yeah so is that for sale yeah yeah
09:24that's the sales one here what sort of price would you like for that it's got to be close to 5k
09:30what about the Gixxer which does need a little bit yeah no the slab is a little bit mint ones of those as
09:37you know there's six seven grand three grand running riding need a little bit of feeling that CBX seems
09:47to be on its own yeah it's not for sale yeah that DT 400 over there yeah what's the damage on that it
09:56does need the sidestand repair I was gonna say it's got a little issue that's why it's leaning up against
10:00that box yes but because of that three grand and the FZ 750 yep very rare 2700 quid there's just so
10:12much to choose from two and a half for that 2750 cheapest slab side you're ever gonna buy
10:302700 yeah quickly before I change my mind there we go brilliant all right mate look it is a very cheap
10:49slabby you're right yeah I mean you know look man I think we can we do some cosmetics on it and sort it
11:05out and have it as a rolling restoration for someone to go next yeah I mean yes exactly yeah lovely time
11:10yeah can we come again yeah bring your checkbook you can come every time next day it's show and sulk time
11:24you're coming out very sheepishly why what would you imagine a dog house to look like because I'll tell
11:31you what mate I'm in it this is a lovely Gixxer it is that's the good news yes the bad news is is the
11:38fairing is in quite a bad state of repair uh like there oh yeah and screen's broken I didn't tie it
11:46down very well in the van ah that's why I'm in the dog house right hasn't broken the levers hasn't I
11:52know I don't know quite how it did it but I opened the back of the van and it's on its side let's go
11:57well this side's broken anyway isn't it okay okay all right all right all right well thank you for
12:04being so understanding but I have to tell you mate I think you could describe I think I might be
12:08flagellating myself emotionally before we do anything we should see if we can get it running
12:13and also it should sound an absolute dream yes shouldn't it yes after a sarni and a cup of scorch
12:23we get the slabby into the shed right let's put some fuel in don't put too much in in case it goes
12:32everywhere are you gonna stand on that and pour fuel don't fall off and do your ankles break your leg
12:39knock the bike over same way now is it coming out the bottom not yet so far so good right ready yeah
12:50come on baby come on baby it runs just about but it's not happy
13:04yeah sounds very much like a blocked pilot jet doesn't it does sound like that when you twist the twist grip it dies which is a pilot jet block but we don't know if we've got fuel flow to the car
13:15so we need to eliminate that first before we condemn pilot jets okay all right Alan drains the first car
13:23it's a bit yellow isn't it must be the old fuel in the car it's going white now which is a new fuel so
13:30you know it's definitely flowing yeah great the other possibility is a gunked up spark plug
13:36one of the cylinders sounds particularly feeble
13:43just warming up spark plugs try and burn off some of the carbon because the carbon is causing a short so
13:52it's sparking down the side of the electrode rather than between the two gaps so I'm just trying to
13:56recover this spark plug by heating up the blowtorch and the electrode gets red hot and burns off all
14:00the carbon hopefully kills a problem so hopefully that knackered plug might be our root cause
14:18yes that is rideable all right there that's very good I cannot say one other thing that's
14:37really mildly exciting it was I'm mildly excited which is probably the first time today but that
14:43ain't the only good news just have a little rummage this is from that other jigsaw that we restored
14:49and this one's new but it was just black rather than I wanted the clear one but that works quite
14:54nicely no straight on yeah that fits so that's lovely so that's great we don't have to buy one
14:58of them so do you think we need to take the fairing and stuff off or should we just run it I think we
15:04should I think we should get it up and running and riding and then take the fairing and whatever else
15:10bodywork whatever take the tank off and drain the fuel out happy days man that's it next day it's
15:18still a little inclement so skid starts on the bodywork we've got to obviously replace the screen
15:25but also I want to try and repair this crack in the fairy so I'm actually gonna remove the fairing
15:31remove the screen glue the crack bolt the screen back on and hopefully fit it on again what could
15:38possibly go wrong motorcycle fairings are a relatively recent innovation only becoming
15:48commonplace after World War two initially they were steel or alley before they went plastic in the 1970s
15:56right the next major job on this is to glue this split together first of all I'm going to put this
16:04powder in into the crack and then I'm going to drip the glue in and the second it hits this it more or
16:09less goes off straight away skids using Q bond two parts super glue which is both strong and flexible
16:19do you know what that looks quite strong I think we'll just let that go off I might put a bit more
16:25of the gray on this just hardens it you're just building up layers soon as this contacts the other stuff
16:31it goes like rock I may upset Henry by using the whole tube but if it works it's a cheap fix that
16:41doesn't look bad and if it is as strong as everyone says that will do with our slabby capable of over a
16:52hundred and forty miles an hour a windscreen is pretty much a necessity after a bit of a battle that is
17:02back on and it is glued together so it's a late night I'm going home next day skid reveals the fruits of
17:12his labor he's repaired the front fairing but left the side panels off I've had the fairing off right
17:20I've glued it back together here right fitted new well nuts and then new screen you had it's been very
17:26industrious hasn't it it's all done look it's rock solid I'll tell you what right yeah the first time
17:31in a very long time we've got something right mainly because I have been on the phone to chopper
17:36Roy yeah okay Chopsicle says don't worry about the fairing because he'd like to buy it with the
17:44fairing to be done by the next owner I mean save him a couple of quid on the purchase exactly I quite
17:50like them like this without the fairing anyway do you know that in the summer I've seen them naked
17:54I mean why not very popular back in the day so look I've agreed with him a price right of three two
18:00happy days so quick 500 quid mate yeah lovely we don't have to send the fairing off and the body
18:06panels and all that kind of stuff he'll take those okay so look Roy's going to come over but
18:11before he comes you know to have a look at his goods because he's only seen a photo of it yeah
18:15I think we should take it out for a little light that's not a good idea don't you think definitely
18:20and we're away
18:26Alan's on his Honda Pan-European
18:29skids on a Kawasaki GTR Fowl and I'm sitting pretty on our new slabby
18:38the noise is sublime
18:43immediately just brings me straight back to being 21 again
18:49blimey do you know what it's 40 years 40 years but I'm still riding and I'm still alive I've still
18:59got some friends so that's gonna be good right the slabby was the first in a long line of race replicas
19:09inspired by Suzuki's race-winning XR 41 when you get on to a faster road you can really feel the power
19:22God yeah they're opening her up now
19:24the slabby remains one of the great sleds of the 1980s the only problem with this ride out it's just too short
19:43hey what a lovely ride sounds nice following you stop does it out it just gave me that little bit
19:59of a lift that I needed this morning I mean that's what motorcycling is all about mate you could do some
20:04miles on that right now and for 3200 quid chopper Roy's in cloverman well I think he is there's got to be
20:11room in it it's ran faultlessly isn't it there's no smoke no rattles it's lovely it's such a lovely
20:16thing next day the man himself arrives now chops I do worry when we do a deal on the phone together
20:28right that it's not quite what you want but anyway look there is languishing in the sunshine hey boys
20:34chops is here does sound nice because it's got the yoshi muir on it
20:42tips over yeah bonus there is a bit of repair needed yeah there's no point is there but there
20:54is no point you only can do that or if they want to keep this paint job then obviously they can have
21:02this repaired and then just re-spray the whole thing but I think it's nice sort of naked you
21:06know I like them like this with the fairing on without the lowers because in the summer it's
21:11nice not having the lowers yeah see the engine as well I can't hear which is nice see the engine
21:15yeah I've got just the man for this there'd be no point mending them all right okay mate okay well
21:20look as we agreed 3-2 yeah yeah happy very happy yeah shake hands deal's a deal thank you boy that's
21:27really nice so look I gotta tell you mate seeing as you're part of the firm anyway we bought it for
21:31two seven yeah yeah so I've made 500 quid on yeah happy yeah everyone's happy everyone's happy everyone's
21:36everyone's up for a nice little earner
