Transcript
00:01Death is the Enemy.
00:03Okay guys, Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 6 titled Death is the Enemy is Almost Here.
00:08Which is a cool name but a little weird because Bran sent me a vision that the next installment
00:12was going to be called, Dickon's still here and now he's a White Walker.
00:16Okay, the Three-Eyed Raven's still working out the kinks.
00:19I'm the Three-Eyed Raven.
00:20I don't know what that means.
00:22Anyway, The Hollywood Reporter's Josh Wiggler has been all over coverage for last week's
00:26Eastwatch and he's broken down everything we learned from that episode and all he needs
00:30to know to be ready for the next.
00:32If Littlefinger was here right now he'd A, be lurking around the corner creepily and B,
00:36be saying, warning.
00:38Spoilers for Season 7 of Game of Thrones up through Episode 5.
00:42Lady Stark thanks you for your service.
00:43First up, at the end of Eastwatch we got what much of the internet referred to as the Suicide
00:48Squad.
00:49I'm kidding.
00:50That's not what they really said.
00:52Check out this epic parody movie poster from Twitter user NightsKing.
00:55Wiggler calls them the Eastwatch 8, or 7 if we're unpeeling the Onion Knight from the
01:00equation.
01:01Either way, in the final moments of the fifth episode we see Jon Snow marching off to war
01:05against the White Walkers along with six allies.
01:08Those are basically all first round draft choices for my zombie killing team, but it's hard to
01:12shake the feeling that someone is going to bite the dust, or bite the snow beyond the
01:17wall.
01:18I offer you a choice.
01:19According to Wiggler, the most likely to meet his latest and final demise is Beric Dondarrion.
01:24The Lightning Lord has died several times already.
01:27What's one more death?
01:30Except we fully expect this death to be the final nail in the coffin for the Brotherhood
01:34Without Banners leader.
01:35At least someone has to die in this installment, and the person whose entire story revolves around
01:39coming back to life over and over again for some unknown northern purpose is the decisive
01:45odds-on favorite.
01:46Wiggler takes things a step further with his own theory on just how Beric's final moments
01:51could go down.
01:52Beric will somehow sacrifice himself in order to breathe life back into Jon Snow, cut down
01:57once again in his war against the dead.
01:59Within the week, we'll know if it's just the Valyrian foil hat theory, or if there's
02:03some substance to the prediction that Jon is about to die and live again once more, with
02:08Beric dying permanently in the process.
02:11Meanwhile, who's the least likely to die out there in the cold, scary place beyond the
02:14wall?
02:15None other than the Hound.
02:17Wiggler says,
02:18It's simple.
02:19Sandor Clegane does not die until he faces off against his undead brother in battle.
02:24The Clegane Bowl is happening.
02:26It is known.
02:27I would pay more for that fight than McGregor Mayweather.
02:29Oh wait, I just need to keep my HBO Go subscription?
02:32Perfect.
02:33Someone not on the Ice Squad is Bronn, played by Jerome Flynn, but according to the actor,
02:38he would have loved to be on the Beyond the Wall team.
02:41I would have loved that too, Bronn, but of course, he's currently working for Team Lannister,
02:45who he recently made Employee of the Month by saving Jaime from being fried by a dragon.
02:50In a conversation with Josh Wiggler, Flynn explains why the sellsword played the hero
02:55in the fiery moment that ended Episode 4.
02:58For one thing, he needs to get paid.
03:00Would Bronn have done that ridiculous stunt if he already had his castle?
03:03I'm not sure.
03:04He was thinking about himself.
03:06Sure, there's a fondness for Jaime, but it doesn't come close to what he feels toward
03:10Tyrion.
03:11He sees an underdog and an outcast in Tyrion, and he sees some of himself in that.
03:16Wiggler also spoke with Jaime himself, Nikolai Koster-Waldau, who says he thought the dragon
03:20showdown might have been the end for his character.
03:23I thought that was it, the actor says.
03:25He's going to be fried.
03:26He's going to go out in flames.
03:28Koster-Waldau continues saying a death by dragon fire for Jaime would have been a cool moment.
03:33If you're a Lannister, you would think that's a pretty brave moment.
03:36It's pretty ballsy to go up against the dragon queen.
03:39It would also have been a complete waste, of course, and very stupid, but that's beside
03:43the point.
03:44Jaime, of course, lives, for now, as we look ahead to episode six.
03:48HBO has released new photos for Death is the Enemy, and the most striking image doesn't
03:52show the Eastwatch elite.
03:54Instead, the most exciting advanced look comes from Dragonstone.
03:58As Daenerys and Tyrion march out toward the dragons, Wiggler wonders if Khaleesi is heading
04:02north, writing,
04:03it sure looks like Dany is ready to travel to Jon's realm and let him know just how much
04:08she's grown used to his company by providing some firepower in the form of Dragon Ex Machina.
04:14Okay guys, what do you expect to happen in Death is the Enemy?
04:18Let me know in the comments, and make sure to head to THR.com slash Game of Thrones for
04:22much more Wiggler Westerosi coverage, including his full recap of Eastwatch, what George R.R.
04:27Martin's early outline reveals about the end of the series, and so much more.
04:32Meanwhile, I'm going to hop on board and call it early.
04:34We'll miss you, Beric.
04:36Maybe this time for good?
04:38For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm the Prince in the North, Paul Costabile.
04:41I don't know what that means.
