00:00Our enemy doesn't tire, doesn't stop. They're coming.
00:09Now we had one hell of a body count during Sunday night's episode of Game of Thrones
00:13and we're not just talking about on screen. The highly anticipated episode,
00:17appropriately titled The Long Night, given that it was the show's longest episode ever,
00:22delivered the HBO series' largest audience with a record of 17.8 million viewers,
00:27including replays and streaming. Now, the episode was solely devoted to the epic Battle of
00:32Winterfell, which basically pitted the forces of the dead, aka the White Walkers and the
00:37big bad Night King, against the forces of the living, aka Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and
00:42all of their rally troops. The viewership also surpasses the 17.4 million First Night
00:48viewers for the season premiere on April 14th. Not only that, but The Long Night's on-air
00:52debut drew 12.02 million people, the second largest audience ever for an initial airing
00:58of Game of Thrones, only trailing behind the season 7 finale, which drew in 12.07 million
01:03viewers. Game of Thrones is HBO's most watched series ever and currently the biggest
01:08scripted series on TV by a wide margin. And it looks like social media also seems to agree.
01:13Twitter says The Long Night sparked 7.8 million tweets, the most ever for an episode
01:19of a scripted series. And we still have three more episodes to go before the big finale.
01:23We need to end this one.
