The Czech Republic enters a new political era as President Petr Pavel officially appoints a new government led by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš following his election victory. The swearing-in ceremony in Prague marks a major shift in the country’s political direction after four years in opposition.

The new coalition, which includes right-wing and Eurosceptic partners, is expected to reshape Czech policies on the European Union, energy, migration, and Ukraine.

During the ceremony, President Pavel urged the cabinet to govern responsibly and recognize the importance of NATO and EU membership, while Babiš outlined his vision for Europe, competitiveness, and a possible Ukraine ceasefire.

Watch key moments from the appointment ceremony, official statements, and press conference.
