00:00What we need is a review of the 1996 Port Arthur Firearms Agreement, but also some strengthening
00:10of gun laws along the lines of abolition of recreational hunting licences, and that was
00:17the very licence that the shooter at Bondi had.
00:20We need to minimise the number of guns any person can have.
00:25We need to minimise the number of guns that are stored in urban or suburban areas, and
00:32we need to ban the kind of guns that were used in that mass shooting at Bondi.
00:37There is no place for somebody in the civilian population to have a high-powered rifle that
00:43carries a magazine of up to five rounds that uses military ammunition.
00:48These things need to be rectified, and this is the way forward for the national government,
00:54for the national opposition and also for the states and the territories.
