00:00You know, I just want to say, and I'm not just brown-nosing here, I've been to Detroit
00:08twice in the last couple months, just sort of hanging out.
00:10And Detroit, every city in America can learn from Detroit.
00:14The renaissance and the remaking of that city has been just nothing short of miraculous,
00:19and it's really amazing.
00:20And every time I'm there, I just get this incredible feeling from it.
00:24And I just, I wish every city could look at that model and say, hey, man, we're going
00:29to take some pages out of their book, because they're doing an incredible job there.
00:34Well, just like a gritty, grindy hockey player, we just keep grinding forward.
00:39And, you know, it is nice when you walk downtown, you know, and so as a matter of fact, I purposely
00:44didn't wear my Detroit hat, because I thought you might have had yours on there, and I didn't
00:46want to.
00:48I should have.
00:51Oh, but anyways, no, it's great to see you.
00:53And of course, while we were watching your son play, we were talking about these three
00:57gigs you have coming up.
00:58Correct me if I'm wrong, December 13th in Los Angeles at the Whiskey, the 18th of December
01:02in St. Charles, Illinois, Arcadia Theater.
01:04That might have to be a road trip, and the 20th, New York, New York, at a racket.
01:09So did I get that right?
01:11You got that all right.
01:11Yeah, you should do a road trip, I mean, if you can.
01:13I mean, obviously, Chicago to Detroit is what, maybe, or vice versa, it's about like about
01:18four hours, roughly.
01:19Ballpark, you know better than me.
01:22But, you know, and it's going to be worth it.
01:25That's a great venue there.
01:26It's just an awesome vibe.
01:29We play there twice with Wasp over the last couple years, and both shows were just off
01:32the charts.
01:33And it's a beautiful, you know, it's a beautiful theater, like I said.
01:37That area kind of encompasses people from, you know, Wisconsin, and obviously Illinois,
01:43and even maybe some from Iowa, and you'll get some maybe from Indiana, and obviously
01:46all the people from suburban Chicago and stuff.
01:49So it's always a great show, and I'm looking forward to doing it.
01:52I want to play Detroit, you know, with this thing one day.
01:55But as of now, there's no date on the schedule yet.
01:59But one day.
02:00Now, for people that don't know what you're doing, you're doing just songs from your time
02:04in Anthrax.
02:04Are you going to do any Armored Saint or just Anthrax songs?
02:07No, no, no.
02:07This is just the four records that I made with Anthrax.
02:10And it's funny, I'm calling it John Bush, which is a big step for me, and trying to
02:15overcome a little bit of a fear of, like, going, okay, you're doing this yourself.
02:19You're not relying on Joey Vera, always there, and being on my side.
02:23And Scott and Charlie, you know, Frankie, this is something I have to do for myself.
02:27And it's great.
02:28My wife's been, like, my right-hand man in helping me with everything.
02:31Right-hand woman, should I say.
02:33And it's going to be fun.
02:35It's, like, something I need to do, kind of like we're talking about, you know, sports,
02:38and, you know, taking that next step and, you know, overcoming any kind of apprehensions
02:43you made.
02:43This is something I needed to do, and I've been talking about it for a long time.
02:46And, you know, I want to do it.
02:48I love those records.
02:49And quite frankly, those guys just don't, they don't play any material from it.
02:53And I understand why.
02:54You know, Belladonna, years, has a lot of songs.
02:57Plus, they've made two records since he's been back in the band.
03:00And they just finished a third that's coming out soon.
03:02So I understand it.
03:03But I just didn't want those records to just be eliminated from people's minds.
03:07And a lot of people connected with them, especially in the 90s.
03:10So, and it was a part of my life for, like, almost 13 years.
03:13So I did a lot of work with them.
03:15And I think there's some amazing materials.
03:17So it'll be fun to go out there and play them live for the first time in a while.
