00:14Glee star Lea Michele's return to the spotlight continues with her first magazine cover since

00:18the death of her boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith over the summer.

00:22As we already know, Lea was the main reason that Glee moved forward with shooting season

00:27five just weeks after Cory passed away.

00:30She explains her decision to get back to work by telling the mag, now that I'm in this

00:34position, you can choose to rise, which is what I'm going to try to do, it's very hard.

00:39But I think by showing that you don't have to lose yourself, maybe someone else will feel

00:43some sort of strength or comfort.

00:45Lea's need to pay it forward may stem from the fact that she found comfort in a special

00:49Hollywood friend after losing her love, and that was friend Kate Hudson.

00:54She tells Elle,

00:55I called her and said, I don't know where I'm going to go because my house is warmed

00:58with reporters.

00:59And she was like, oh you're going to stay at my house, like it was nothing.

01:03She let my family stay there and any of my friends.

01:06The two worked together a lot when Kate appeared on Glee as Lea's New York nemesis last season,

01:11but clearly it was nothing but love offset.

01:14Lea continued to gush about the actress, saying, I'll never really be able to thank her truly

01:19for what she did for me.

01:20With Glee coming to an end next season, the actress is focusing on other pursuits, including

01:25her debut album.

01:26Last month, she offered a sneak peek to fans of her album cover, Shoot, which shows the

01:31actress back to her usual smoking hot self.

01:34No word yet on a release date, but we'll keep you posted.
