00:00Vin Diesel says Peacock is making not one, but four Fast and Furious television series.
00:06During NBCUniversal's Upfront at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Monday,
00:11Diesel told the advertisers in attendance,
00:13For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more.
00:16They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade,
00:21the desire has been for us to enter the TV space. He continued,
00:24The news that I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the Fast and Furious
00:29universe. However, a source inside Peacock tells The Hollywood Reporter that only one Fast and
00:34Furious show is in active development. Diesel said he had to wait until the timing was right to bring
00:39the Fast and Furious universe to television. He explained that when NBCUniversal Entertainment
00:44chairman Donna Langley added TV oversight to her purview, the timing became right because Langley
00:49would maintain, quote, the integrity of the characters and the international appeal.
00:53Diesel will be among the in-development show's executive producers.
00:57Right now, the show's logline simply reads,
00:59More to Come. The series will hail from Universal Television. To date,
01:03the Fast and Furious films have amassed more than $7 billion at the worldwide box office.
01:08The 11th movie, Fast Forever, is set for a 2028 release.
