00:00congratulations on the final season how are you guys feeling today talking through it all

00:06it's uh it's a it's a hard it's a hard thing to let go of because we all just enjoyed it uh

00:14embraced it so thoroughly um yeah it's it's a it's a little it's a little tough you know what

00:21i do like there's one thing i will say is that you guys were offered this year all of the episodes

00:26to watch i don't know if they gave them did to you they did correct and so in being able to talk

00:31to you it's different than in years past because we weren't able to say a darn thing and this time

00:35you guys i actually get to hear from you what you you responded to and so often people are responding

00:40to things that i also was responding to and so it's actually i feel like it's it's a unique

00:46opportunity that we that we're having with you guys but that being said i wish that we were

00:50we're not here all season and i i would gladly give all that up to be able to have a few more

00:56seasons yeah oh caroline and kevin and i were talking about it as well and they caroline in

01:02particular said it was the hardest goodbye she's ever had because she was going to miss the characters

01:08which is like not just the people but the the characters like she said she was she got to see

01:12shirley one more time um did you guys do anything in particular to say goodbye to your characters

01:20uh i i i don't think i have said goodbye no i don't think i have either yeah i am not yeah it's

01:29not no no i i haven't really i've just kind of been in a in a state of deep denial yeah me too that's

01:38what i was just gonna say it's almost like by talking to people about it which i knew this was

01:42all coming you know because we were about to drop the the show is i was like oh well that's it's still

01:46active and alive and then i forgot well actually no the can is like done and we're not allowed to

01:51change anything oh there was a moment when i was doing the um you know how you do adr the audio part

01:57of like adding some certain sounds and all that and i remember when they said okay we're done and i

02:01was like no no there's got to be more lines i've got to add a few more lines for you because i did not

02:06want the last time i spoke rose's words to be there i really walked out and just like wept and wept

02:14because i was like i need to keep being rose i'm not able to let go oh it's heartbreaking but i mean

02:20the ending was a perfect bow on the top of a beautiful five seasons so i don't want to say

02:28too much because we'll include the video in our post but okay but we really enjoyed it um now abe and

02:35rose have had quite a journey since the beginning of the series um what does this last chapter of the

02:42show look like for them as you can say uh well yeah like you say they've they've had a um a long

02:54but roller coaster-ish kind of marriage and um somehow they've really um through all of the upheaval

03:05and all of the strife over the past five seasons they've they've somehow managed to figure out a way

03:10to come to become closer and more appreciative of their of their bond and um we we see them as long

03:20haulers i mean they're they're gonna be there uh for each other and and for their and for their children

03:28for their daughters and for their uh grandchildren right i mean um and they regenerate like they're so

03:36unique and that they like find like one thing gets like cut off and then they kind of find something

03:42else and then they say goodbye to this and no more money and then a new apartment or they go off and

03:47they live with their you know in-laws and it just uh it was so delightful like people have asked us

03:52throughout the day about the trajectory of the character and what was it like when we knew what

03:55was going to happen and you know the truth is tony and i didn't know a thing we signed on to this

03:59project based on how much we love the writing and then we just kind of let amy and dan give us the

04:05episode as it was happening and not know what would happen the next episode or the next year or whatever

04:10and and that's so thrilling it's so thrilling to to be so surprised by people you know exercise and just

04:18you know staying open and ready for ready for anything and everything absolutely a big

04:25practice and patience too i would think um now there was a poignant moment in the season four finale

04:33between moisha and abe where abe was reading moisha's obituary what uh does their bond look like in this

04:40final season um moisha and abe's bond um yeah that's interesting um because we we don't have we don't

04:52intersect that many ways except over um except over miriam right over mitch i think that in that

05:04particular episode you're talking about there's something that like a piece that's just as an on

05:10looker to what happened then it's like suddenly it like so much um rancor and like you know like

05:18like structure and animosity like problems just kind of dissipated after that like suddenly he

05:24looked at you didn't he have like tears in his eyes like i didn't know you thought about me that

05:28way and that kind of allowed kind of a truce a little bit of a truce right um now amy and dan

05:36are ending the show on their own terms as we discussed how do you guys feel about the show's

05:41ending and were you satisfied with it oh very uh the way the final you mean the very final scene

05:49i haven't i haven't uh seen the episode yet but reading it and shooting it i thought they really

05:56really did a beautiful job of of bringing it all to a close yeah you know i can't wait to actually

06:03ask them we haven't things sort of sped up in the end and obviously everybody was sort of tired because

06:07they've been working very very hard and i would love to ask amy and dan which is maybe you know

06:12the answer can you ask them like did they know um from the get-go in the pilot how they did want to

06:18end it did they know do you think they did i think they did okay i don't know if they knew all the

06:23specifics but in the broader the broader scheme i think they did know where and you think that that

06:28concept of that scene between we're not supposed to say air spoilers yeah they saw that scene as the

06:34vision of what they were headed wow wow i'm gonna ask them after we finish today i'm really really

06:40interested in that yeah um and finally what do you think like at the end of the day from beginning to

06:47end pilot to last episode that rose and abe really want for mitch well uh

06:56uh i think they want to they want to see her um you know be navigate her way through the world

07:09uh to to to to succeed at what she's you know what she's trying to to do to to not lose heart i think

07:20they see her as um and i think they see themselves as fighters as survivors and um i think they trust

07:30that hopefully she's you know she's got some of that in her and whatever happens she's going to land

07:37on her feet i think that you know rose has always um seen her daughter as you know a version of herself

07:47but towards the very end i think she did recognize you know what she's her own like bird she's flying

07:54in her own way and i and i think that um she's always been also a little like awestruck by her

08:00daughter i do think that i do think that she thought this is a spectacular human and by the way

08:05that you know interesting that tony's character babe like it took him longer this is the case with men

08:11but i do i do think i do think that rose knew that amazing guys well thank you so much for

08:17taking the time with me today congratulations again um and hopefully get to talk to you all soon
