00:00so great to see you guys congratulations thank you thank you so much um charity the ring is

00:07gorgeous so tell me did you have any input like how do you feel about what he chose oh I mean

00:14truly my dream ring so he did great um I didn't have much input at all like I don't get to clearly

00:20I don't get to see the rings and be like that one but I did just kind of mention like obviously I

00:25wanted an oval cut and that was that like very traditional very like classic um and so he

00:32somehow some way really managed to pick the perfect ring it's it's truly stunning and and Don you said

00:39at one point in the season you weren't even totally sure that an engagement was what was coming at the

00:44end of this so when did you kind of know you were ready to propose and was there ever any like

00:49hesitation about that um no not necessarily like I said I went into this I knew it was about dating

00:56and finding love but I didn't know if it ended in dating or a marriage or and I had no idea and so

01:02it wasn't until I saw her as my wife and then I asked one of the guys and I said hey like how does

01:06this end specifically and they said engagement and like for a second I was like oh shoot but then I

01:11thought of who she was in the relationship that we had built up at that point I said if we keep going

01:15and then that's exactly what I want so um that's what exactly what ended up happening um and you

01:21know charity obviously you were kind of open about how you really were falling for multiple men and

01:25you were very vocal about that on the show so did you kind of warn Don about that before the episodes

01:31aired and how was it for both of you watching that back yeah um honestly we like I knew kind of coming

01:37into all this like how it was probably going to be watching it back and getting advice from like

01:43former people who have already done all this but I was very intentional in that aspect because like

01:47the most valuable thing in all this is like our relationship and so I wanted to be very proactive

01:53in that um addressing any concerns that he might have things that like he was probably not aware of so

01:59we kind of had those um more challenging conversations early on in that way it kind of

02:04just laid the foundation for us to kind of get in a good headspace of watching this all back and

02:08I made sure like every week um a lot of the episodes we did get an opportunity to watch together

02:12so week by week we just like constantly checked in with each other and um it was honestly like

02:18very smooth truly yeah for for me watching it back like like she said obviously we're in different

02:24positions in terms of she's the lead dating other men and I'm just trying to grit her heart and

02:28and that's what happened and um we had difficult moments but charity has just been so amazing

02:34throughout this entire process checking in on me making sure that everything is good and asking

02:39all the right questions and I you know she made me feel so secure I was already secure but like

02:44these are tough moments and I think a lot of people struggle and um we we really got through it I feel

02:50like relatively easy so I'm really grateful for this one and the the love that she has for us and

02:54and me so yeah it was awesome yeah it's definitely a good way to test your communication early on so

03:00a good first hurdle well when it came to the finale episode there was that hesitation charity from your

03:07family to kind of tell you where they stood with things and I'm sure this is just sort of the way

03:11it was edited but they were almost seeming seeming to like lean a little bit towards liking joey

03:16better however you want to say it so how was that watching it back and how did they react when you told

03:20them that you were engaged to done yeah um great question literally perfect question um it was

03:28challenging watching it back because obviously like you you do see my emotions very um intensified

03:34and heightened in that moment and again that just was because it's I'm kind of having almost an

03:39internal freak out myself of like oh goodness proposal is like the next day or two days from now so it's

03:45like what do I do and obviously having not being able to talk to my parents or my family up until

03:50that point like you kind of want to exhaust everything and just kind of get it all out so that's kind

03:55of the headspace that I was in I was like someone just tell me something you know um but I do respect

03:59my mom um for not giving me like an answer a direct answer and knowing that she knew my heart she knew

04:05exactly where I was at and things um and yes like how things were edited definitely was not in my opinion

04:11the best uh portrayal but that's okay my family is definitely on board with this and they were very

04:16um excited once I got to tell them the news that we were engaged and my brother wasn't there so um he was

04:22also one of the first ones that I facetimed so exciting so exciting and I know you guys kind of

04:27mentioned that um you're not you're you don't want to wait too long to walk down the aisle and you

04:32know you kind of want to get the ball rolling here but have you thought about the guest list at all

04:35like will anyone from the cast kind of make it onto the guest list are you trying to keep that separate

04:39I don't get to pick that well I do that's my wheelhouse she's closed that chapter but um they casted so

04:48well for for charity because of the caliber of woman that she is and so all the guys really are

04:52amazing and we you know I guess it doesn't happen often but we're a very tight-knit group so I'm

04:57positive there's going to be a few of those guys making appearances which ones I don't know yet

05:02yeah yeah so what what are the plans for the immediate future now I mean now you have to get

05:08through this whole day of press and kind of figuring out how to be out there together with

05:13your relationship but what's next um yeah we're just spending this time together quality time

05:19um really just enjoying obviously in celebrating our engagement but we know like obviously dancing

05:24with the stars is up next so um we're just trying to figure out that and um he'll be coming with me

05:30so yeah um but just living living life yeah it's it's you know when one chapter closes another one

05:37opens and so now we're in this next whirlwind of things with dancing with the stars and a lot of

05:42open-endedness but uh as long as we're doing it together I think we're excited to do it so

05:45we're just gonna have fun and spend time and do normal normal people things you know so um that's

05:50pretty much it for now amazing well I'm so so happy for you guys congratulations again and just enjoy
