Irrigator and GAN weekly news for Dec 12
Transcript
00:00Good afternoon, I'm irrigator journalist Kai Hallward here to deliver you your weekly wrap of what's making headlines in the MIA this week.
00:09In Leighton, our top story this week concerns Sebastian Randolph, a homegrown personal trainer who's been named one of, if not the best in the country by Anytime Fitness.
00:20Mr Randolph attributed the win to the work ethic and resilience he learnt growing up on the farm right here in town.
00:26Congratulations Sebastian!
00:28Leighton Shire Council has put to rest concerns surrounding potential investment if and when the Sports Precinct Master Plan is complete.
00:36While some were worried about a substantial financial commitment, General Manager Jackie Kruger has clarified that the Master Plan will not commit or tie Leighton to any development plans.
00:46Over in Griffith, Carmelo and Lucinda Panarello shared their at times heartbreaking story of overcoming addiction and the emotional toll of writing it down in their new book.
00:55Perhaps most importantly, they also shared why they think it's so important.
00:59Alan Wilson has more.
01:00In police news, a 44-year-old man was found allegedly hiding in the bushes after attempting to evade police on an unregistered bike.
01:08Meanwhile in Griffith, a Leighton man was charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly hopping a fence and stealing a forklift when he was denied entry into a bar.
