00:00Good afternoon Leighton and welcome to the weekend.
00:03I'm irrigator journalist Kai Hawroid here to deliver your wrap up of the headlines this
00:07week.
00:08Our top story this week was a donation of $3,800 to Parkview Public School from Westpac
00:13Bank to support their Crunch and Sip program, ensuring every child has access to healthy
00:19fruit and water to start their days off the right way.
00:22Yours Chorley also wrote an editorial on this asking should we be relying on corporate
00:26charity to feed our kids?
00:28You can read both of those on theirrigator.com.au.
00:31He's here in town so we took a look at the ups and downs of this brave new world through
00:35the eyes of a lean Uber Eats driver asking the question whether flexible working hours
00:41really are worth the inconsistency.
00:43We also got a fascinating look into the bus community with Narendra man Maverick Parham
00:48on the lookout for an ex-Hanby's bus that he hopes to restore back to working condition
00:53and then use for community events.
00:55If you've got any leads on that you can contact Maverick.
00:58In council news, Leighton Shire Council was awarded the AR Blewett Memorial Award for the first
01:05time since 1963.
01:07The award aims to recognise excellence in innovation and leadership and is a huge feather
01:12in the cap for our council and their staff.
01:13Remember, if you have an interesting story, a lead or a call for help you can always contact
01:18me at 0447 781 540 or at kai.holroyd at ostcommunitymedia.com.au.
01:28That's it from me for now, have an excellent weekend and I will see you on Monday.
