00:00Coach Heisman is still up for discussion.
00:03Can Diego Pavia potentially steal the Heisman
00:07after the performance by Fernando Mendoza?
00:10Mendoza didn't like the world on fire,
00:12but did knock off the top team in the nation, Ohio State.
00:16He's back to minus 2,500.
00:19Diego Pavia is still there at 12-1.
00:22Does he have any shot to steal the hardware?
00:25Boy, it doesn't look like it.
00:27I mean, Fernando Mendoza, you know,
00:29he made a big third down, 33-yard touchdown pass
00:32to win the game with about two and a half minutes left
00:34for Indiana, probably enough to push him over the top.
00:38But I promise you, if fans and if voters
00:41would watch the highlight of Diego Pavia,
00:44watch how he carried that team and that program
00:47on his shoulders, I think he's clearly
00:50the most deserving of the Heisman Trophy.
00:52Not sure they're going to give it to him,
00:54because like you said, Ohio State, Indiana,
00:57who won that game, likely was going to push
01:00that quarterback in towards Heisman Trophy consideration.
01:04Now, I don't know if you saw Vanderbilt's head coach,
01:08Clark Lee, but they asked him about why Vanderbilt,
01:12you know, missed out, and was he bitter
01:15in any capacity being a 10-2 football team?
01:19And basically, he had come out and said that
01:21they had every opportunity to knock off Texas on the road.
01:25They lost that game by three in Alabama,
01:27a game where they were covering for much of the way
01:30and then allowed it to slip, lost that game by 11
01:33in the final 20 seconds of that matchup
01:36against the Crimson Tide.
01:37Thoughts about what Clark Lee said about his team
01:40had every opportunity.
01:41They just didn't make enough plays to pick up the wins.
01:45I think everything that Notre Dame said the wrong way,
01:48he said the right way.
01:49He said, you know what, we just want to play football.
01:51We're proud and honored that we were able to have
01:54the season that we did.
01:56We've got a chance to play another football game,
01:58and our guys just want to work together
01:59and play another football game.
02:00Didn't blame anybody, said, let's go play football.
02:04That's the way you probably should do it.
02:06If we're going to set an example for those players
02:07and how to respond to things,
02:10when things don't go your way, that's how you respond.
02:13We've got a chance to play football.
